Ratio Six Coffee Maker | Crew Review 

I've been in the coffee maker industry for many years, and this machine appears to be manufactured by Sensio (MPL) the same China based OEM as the Brim auto pour over machine (their brand). I've purchased both and have taken them apart to compare internals and the heater, and waterlines are the same up to the shower head. The Brim machine pushes slightly higher power to the heater upon metering. The Brim machine which is half the price produces extremely similar results but does not have an insulated coffee carafe. A similar carafe as the Ratio 6 has can be sourced in manufacturing for around $4.

If you are brewing half a pot how does it know or do you just add half the amount of water

Wish the brew basket attached to the machine so it didn't have to come out with the carafe. I also wish it could brew with the lid in place , having to keep separate pieces together looks like a pain between the carafe, the lid, the drip tray, and the brew basket. Did you all try testing with a probe to see what temperate its brewing at? This also seems more expensive than the Breville BDC450 which has to be a better machine overall right?

I'd appreciate knowing how this unit does after being in someone's home and being used daily for a year or a few. I suspect it won't hold up if the quality isn't excellent and I'm willing to spend money on such a beautiful machine, but only if I know it'll last and last. Compared to Rocket is this as nice or sub? Thanks!

I don't drink it black, so I wouldn't have to blow or wait to cool it. I would be curious for thermometer checking that. Also, less awkward way of doing that than demonstrated taking off the brewer basket. Just lift straight up and stick the drip tray under and then alight basket on tray and you can put both down together. The half carafe choice is a good feature of this model and it is less of an outlay of money than moccamasters.

No way to access the water reservoir tank to clean (aside from the descaling procedure) ?

So, the hot coffee still passes through plastic. Why is it with the millions of coffee contraptions, we can't find one automatic maker where your coffee doesn't pass through plastic?

Well one major correction here, at 00:53 what she calls a “lid” is actually a protective silicone gasket heat shield to maintain a perfect 200 degrees during the bloom and drip process, it’s one of a few major differences that make this coffee maker superior to almost all others when it comes to the flavor of the coffee, it absolutely simulates the flavor of pour over coffee, if you use a $30 mr coffee type coffee maker then this coffee will seem very strong... I’ll also say this coffee maker is a mini little tank that will last you forever. If you use cream and sugar in your coffee do not waste your money on this at all.

The product looks like a Technivorm copy. How does it compare to the Technivorm?. I do like the bloom feature!
