Alexander Megos has made the first ascent of Rastaman Vibrations, a project bolted over a decade ago by Chris Sharma at Ceüse, one of the most iconic crags in France. Climber: Alexander Megos Edit: Jan Virt
Alex, you are quickly becoming one of the best content creators in all of climbing youtube. None of the clickbait or fluff. Just crushing hard climbs. Please just keep your same style of videos, it will bring yourself and your channel so far.
Genuinely couldn’t agree more with your comment Ben. I’ve just unsubscribed from Magnus’s channel as it’s become just another channel of dumb videos which is really sad but Alex is doing great things which I’m really happy about 👏👏
The best climbing sound I have heard yet! The soft clunk of climbing shoes. The creak of carabiners. The almost not there whir of rope. No shouting. No distant voices. A truly special experience. Kudos to you and your crew.
Incredible climbing. Obviously insanely strong, amazingly flexible - but the awareness of the body, the positioning instinct, the efficiency of movement. Next-level.
Fantastic video! So much stuff is way overproduced these days and uses relentless, aggressive music, so this was a breath of fresh air; thank you! Also those stretches, unbelievable flexibility! 🤯 And of course the actual climbing, just an insane level of fitness and skill.
Funny how not so long ago you had to pay to see half of this quality videos, awesome! As Alex said the videos from Sharma and others motivate him to try it Keep up this quality!
What an incredibly humbling experience it must be to send a line bolted over 10 years ago by a then pioneer of and pusher of the limits and style we see today. Almost like picking up the map of a great explorer and finding that mythical island he spoke of and oh so wanted to see. Awesome, epic, inspiring.. infinite superlatives for this one Alex! Keep on pushing the limits of what a person can do and your impact will transcend time. ❤️❤️
It was a pleasure to watch this video. Alex, you are becoming more calm and mature - no screaming, soft-eye-focus on the climb, long, slow and deep breathing (some call it LSD), completely flowing up the route in a dance-like style, a one-of-a-kind rock warrior and legend already. Anjd of course - stretching and laying Shavasana, just amazing Keep up the RU-vid content to make us happy Greetings from Vienna
Keep on crushing Alex!
I'm taking a mental note of 4:48 - definitely a long term goal for me to be able to do that! Needed some inspo to keep on trusting the process, cheers!
I like so much Alex Megos, no shouts, humility, sense of humour, hard climber, the perfect brother or son, as you like of "l'Ange Blond". Please keep going on this way 🙂
I love that he doesn't get mad, when he's in the right mindset or probably with less pressure to climb it. Feels chill and peaceful the way climbing is meant to be.
Ok I love the direction this channel seems to be going. This video kind of reminded me to that bibliographie film, just smaller. I love the balance between hard outdoors sends and training vlogs. I hope there is more of this comimg!!
Unglaublich geniales Video! Glückwunsch zu der starken Leistung! Kompliment auch an die ganze Crew. Das Video ist echt super! Für den Fall das ich mal abgeschleppt werden muss, melde ich mich dann bei dir. ;)
man, you look definitly flowing! in earlier times, i felt like you had a lot of haste in your climbing style, but this time the whole route felt like one sequence… i love it! youre growing
There is a typo in the name of the route in the title, it should say "Ratstaman Vibrations" (weird, but it's a reference to the Ceuse sector Face de Rat).
Awesome vid as always and a sick send! 🔥🥕💪 Some sincere personal feedback (im saying these are facts just my opinion as a fellow climber and creative) for Jan Virt 😍✌ - I absolutely loved all the talking elements, the humanness bringing us Alex even closer and all the humor - If possible (lens and distance to Alex) I would prefer to have a wider framing of the closeup, also it s nice to have some extra rock shown above the climber so we can anticipate the next move without hands going out of the frame on quick moves. - When filming from the rope a bit more image stabilisation in post would be nice to have the framing be more stable - last but not least I found the music to be quite distracting, this is of course super personal but to mee it felt more like the standaard music for hipster commercial, sorry for saying it so blunt. Also for the send I don't thing we need any music, the sounds of the climbing itself are pure enough on their own. Again im not trying to be a hater here just giving my honest feedback to make the content in my opinion even more enjoyable 💚
Nice! Maybe the beste video on Alex's channel so far! Yes to quality footage, not those 'raw' (aka shitty) iphone shots. I like this style of story telling - and then the send.
