When the dogs thrash back and forth the amount of force generated by the rat’s brain smashing into their skull over and over again is just incredible and basically turns the grey matter into a liquid. The rats may not be technically dead when the dog drops it but any movement is often just the nervous system firing as it’s blinking out.
It is so fun watching you guys with a very smart dogs. It is just like a fiesta ratting while cleaning the sorrounding at the same time. It's fun. It's entertaining.
I'm a random mom from the suburbs of Chicago and I just love these videos. Our fat bulldog kills the snakes in our yard. I wonder if he would like ratting?
The little brown fella was trying very hard for his age. If you wish to see what Love is just look to a Dog's loyalty to it's Human friend, pure love given with nothing excepted other than a little care. Dogs are my favourite people, they are such a gift to humanity.
Looked to me like you got a couple of little terriers with excellent drive. They looked very eager to go after the rats. Might be worth getting some pups off of them someday. Next in line was some kind of leggy maybe terrier mix. Good speed and decent drive. The German shepherds bring some size and backup to the table. But I think the terriers had the most drive.
The German Shepherd was like that one person that just don’t see the satisfaction of this videos but still watches it just to comment how cruel we are lol
Great stuff !...Its been a while...I was beginning to think you and your mob had killed all the Little buggers around your patch ! ...I've moved to Sweden now and do miss a bit of ratting ...Keep up the good work mate 😀👍
This might seem like a silly question, but I have two wire fox terriers. I’ve never taken them ratting, but they have killed rats in the back yard. If I put them out there with the pack, do you think they’d catch on? Or is there a considerable amount of training before they know to lock on the way these dogs do? Either way, I love these videos. Beautiful working dogs!
I absolutely loved this video, a great time was had by all. English country sports at its best being enjoyed by people of all ages and dogs of all breeds. The black lurcher is a killing machine, and to see the young lass whacking a rat with her stick, priceless. Long may you be allowed to carry on with your country pursuits, and the tree huggers don't get there way. This is coming from a cockney living in London that has loved and taken part in field sports in Kent and Essex for over 40 years. Thanks for sharing
Looks like one; it doesn't look like the shep quite has the instinct for ratting, but hey, it's a fun-for-the-whole-pack activity, and he can learn from the smaller dogs and terriers~ :)
we here in tipperary used to go to local dump at night and turn the spot amp and kill hundreds of rats with hurlys untill we set fire to the whole dump and ploice gave us chase at 2 in the morning ,we all got away ,fast on our feet like the dogs ,love the sport and wish all of fellow ratters well, god bless ireland
I see the need to keep vermin numbers down..............but should it be treated like a trip to Disneyland? Something deeply unsettling about these people.
Herbert von Zinderneuf What? Rats spread the plague, they are gross! (Yes, I know it was the fleas, don’t care.) The people are having a good time watching their doggies have a good time. 😁
