RATTLING OR SILENT CRANKBAIT? 

That crankbait rattle impression was on point

Great info John, thanks! I'm old enough to have thrown lots of wooden crankbaits in my time. When the rattling plastic cranks first started overtaking the silent wooden baits in popularity, I think what a lot of younger anglers failed to realize was that a big part of the reason was that the plastic baits not only caught fish, they were simply more durable than the wooden baits. Many times silence truly is golden. God bless you and yours!

One bite yesterday, threw a rattling Cordell lipless into a bunch of grass and bang.54 degree water

So many guys are throwing silent ones in the spring here that sometimes I think the rattle gets you a few more bites. Then again I’m not an elite pro 😂

I couldn’t agree more on the silent crankbaits John!. I caught my pb 6lb 12oz Smallie (picture in my YT profile pic) on a Strike King chartreuse baitfish silent lipless crankbait during a spring transition bass tourney on a local lake, when everyone else was throwing rattles I was close behind with a silent lipless crankbait and won big fish pool for day 1 with 1st place of a 2 day tourney that ended up with a bust at the end of the tourney
