Raul's voice hasn't changed much over the years; but when it's perfect, there's not much room for improvement. This Johnny Cash classic was performed 16 years ago.
I heard Raul sing this song when he was A young lad. So sweet and sentimental..... Cash is watching and enjoying Raul's version Of "I Still Miss Someone" . Miami Beach and Miami went crazy with Raul and the sound Of The Mavericks. So glad they are back together! Raul, sing this song more often!!!! You'll make lots of fans happy! (like meeee!) Love val2844
I fell in love with him the first time I saw him on T.V. years ago singing "What A Thrill", I listen to it over and over and reminds me of a long lost love. He is so handsome and his voice so beautiful....I've fallen in love all over again. God bless you Raul, you have made a lot of people happy.
A legend in his generarion..time has told tales and the life of said musicians..rhythem and melody is fantastic..a terrific band..a tale that does not go away, even in time..phenomenal
My father sang just like Johnny Cash and Marty Robbin and taught me that song when I was a kid.. I turn 60 in 6 months. I still play and sing it occasionally.... I still miss someone!!
So ,so glad The Mavericks are back together, they been my favorite band for well over 20 years, even when they split up i kept up with Raul Malo He/They are the best...
+Mary Grimes Just discovered The Mavericks about 9 months ago, now that's mostly all I listen to. And " I Still Miss Someone" over and over. It's a beautiful song. Did Johnny Cash write it or maybe someone else. Does anyone know for sure who wrote it ?
I searched for other performers doing this song, from Julie Andrews, Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt, Flatt & Scruggs, Loretta Lynn, and many more. Nobody comes close to this beautiful Johnny Cash song, but Raul Malo! This one is the best version, and it must be that voice, but the arrangement and sound is wonderful! This song is in my Playlist and I always play it.
Heard it the first time headed for a canoe trip on the Niobrara River in Nebraska in 1979 ish. Took us 6 gallons of Coleman fuel to start the fire but nobody drowned and we all had enough wine to keep the cold away, Memories. I'll never forget it.
Betty, says..where have I been all your life. I feel like I am in high school. I feel all Raul and the mavericks music should be rewarded at least for the latinos
i had the honor of meeting these talented men.they are so friendly, and they genuinely love the crowds.raol could move over to country no problem.no matter who comes along my heart will always belong to the mavericks
Fantastisc! Gives me joy and harmony. I have just started to play guitarr!!! And its Mavericks music in my head! I enjoy that!! Im not good in playing, but it doesnt matter!!! I,m happy of this music!!!!
2.26.2010-Happy Birthday Johnny Cash! I have always loved this song of yours since 1965 on your "Ring of Fire" LP. So happy and grateful that we have the most capable Mr. Malo to carry on your fine musical tradition. RIP
So glad to have found this guy. So talented. Check out his song loving you. I believe Frank Sinatra called it one of the best love songs he ever heard. Very talented right now the mavericks are not together but i heard their getting back together this spring . Either way we've still got Raul. Hope he's got a little more magic in that amazing musical mind. Give us more Raul your one of the best in any genre.

People essentially shouldn't try to do tunes that Cash has made his own. However, Raul & Gram did the only two that I can think of on this tune that don't piss me off. It takes guts & I'm not sure what else besides a reverence for Cash., :o)
I still miss someone At my door the leaves are falling The cold wild wind will come Sweethearts walk by together And I still miss someone I go out on a party And look for a little fun But I find a darkened corner 'Cause I still miss someone Oh, I never got over those blues eyes I see them everywhere I miss those arms that held me When all the love was there I wonder if she's sorry For leavin' what we'd begun There's someone for me somewhere And I still miss someone I still miss someone Oh, no I never got over those blues eyes I see them everywhere I miss those arms that held me When all the love was there I wonder if she's sorry For leavin' what we'd begun There's someone for me somewhere And I still miss someone I still miss someone
Raul is one of my favorite guy singers, what a voice. My favorite gal singer also did a cover of this beautiful song... search "Crystal Gayle, I Still Miss Someone"
