To me the cigarettes represent each night Raury and the girl spend together. Raury is not capable of loving her, but he's able to supply her with cigarettes; having sex. Eventually, she falls in love but Raury doesn't feel the same and it is eating her away inside. When Raury doesn't reciprocate her feelings she is shocked, but still latches on to him because those nights together are all she has. Raury eventually realizes the relationship is bad for him, and her so he decides to end it. The video is just a replay of their memories, and at the end when they burn the house down their relationship and memories burn with it. Maybe he actually did care, but was too afraid to confront those feelings due to prior hurt.

A cigarette is great while you are smoking it, it's addictive, it's loyal, but it kills you long term......sound familiar?
