Defense is the way to go man, most people in ranked just throw out unsafe stuff banking on you not knowing the matchup. All the way up to god ranks I’ve experienced this.

@@norf-kr6od No for sure! I think I need to develop a better feel of smelling blood in the water and going ham sometimes instead of letting things go back to neutral too often. Defense is 👌👌👌 But I wouldn't mind adding a little more stank into my play 😉

@@livefast1064 Oh yeah offense is important too of course. Even if you’re defensive having strong pressure yourself helps make the most out of every interaction you win.

@@norf-kr6od Here is one thing that could help. If you know the match up defense could actually win you the match. If you're not sure of a match up strategic mashing and spacing them out a lot will be the best way to go.

i will say the same to everyone, look at your replays, figure out what you're not doing/ what's beating you and make a conscious effort to force yourself to fix the issues. Even if it feels unnatural

@@imortalXsoul I like the video format but I think its a bit too cracked out to go off block punishment and have extremely crisp movement on top of that. Or like the low parry on the whiffed b234 against Feng, a bit too crazy imo. You are winning off situations that are hard to copy for beginners. Its actually something that bothered me back in SFV with all those "How do get out of bronze Rank" type videos and then they just sit there and block punish every match up correctly and then they go: "its that simple guys, look I didnt do anything special" 😅❤

@@yurotk The point of the video series isn’t to copy me. It’s to see the mistakes lower rank players are making with my thoughts on my own decision making and theirs. Often you can’t spot mistakes if you’re similar level … that’s why Tekken players find it difficult to rank/level up. The way I deal with these players is to let *THEM* kill themselves and be patient near round ends, sit on life leads etc which can be seen in every rank group - that’s the point of the video(s) 💀

@@yurotk Well in reality that IS the way to get out of bronze rank. It’s just about what bronze rank players are doing. If the video said how to get out of platinum, it would be the same - but platinum players don’t do the same stuff bronze players are doing so it’s about how to deal with platinum strats but the concept is still the same (block punish, letting them kill themselves, decisions in the clutch, panicking, sitting on life leads etc)

I've found in my rank journey that using df1 to set up your offense will carry you in the early ranks. It catches players sidesteping, it's safe on block, you will often force players to whiff if you sidestep/walk.

Ravens small tekken tools are pretty good, but you need to be comfortable playing there. Try making a conscious effort to force yourself to play more range 1-0

You haven't. I always think this and then find a way to improve. Take a step back, make a conscious effort to force yourself to do things to patch up your holes even if it feels uncomfortable

@@tebogotwala5185 this is what got me through the red ranks, I surprisingly moved up 2 ranks and reached flame ruler on Nina the other day just by playing at least 1-2 hours a day, then analysing what I could've done to improve. This video also helped out tons on how to analyse your own gameplay. Big thanks to imortalXsoul for this!
