I love hearing her speak. She is very articulate!

I feel what she means when she looks back at pictures and sees that she wasn't even fat. I have done the same thing yet growing up everyone around me told me how "big" I was because I got my curves at an earlier age and the doctors judged me based on my dumb BMI chart. Now I am overweight and feel even worse about myself. Raven was one of the girls that I looked up to when I was growing up. She helped me believe in myself and I am forever thankful for that. It is sad to see all the controversy that has surrounded her these last few years but I am happy to see that she is now getting the help that she needs.

Raven Symone definitely grew up to be intelligent enough to be able to express clearly what she went through. It's not easy being a child star. But the fact that she had to deal with people talking about her weight rather than coming from a true health side. Just shows how toxic that industry and some people can be.

It was BECAUSE of Raven being in front of the camera that I learned how to love my body. She was a reprensentation of what a NORMAL body looked like. I loved the body positive image that she was and still is in an industry that is saturated with anything but.

Ravin was one of the female's I looked up to growing up. When she started out on Disney, wearing her ruffled skirts. I was like okay someone with my body type rocking the so called "skinny girl" skirts. But it gave me a boost to go out and get one. And she definitely wasn't fat.. but she just so fierce with her fashion.! Keep doing you girl!

I really have a lot of respect for her. She is her own women!!!! She can communicate to the T!!!!

she was on tv with a natural body at a time when being super skinny was on trend. the beauty standards in the late 90’s/early 2000’s praised women for being underweight (heroin chic, nicole richie, the olsen twins etc,) and anyone who wasn’t was considered fat. rewatching that’s so raven now made me realize she was never even big to begin with, the beauty standard in hollywood was and still is messed up. i’m glad things have changed for the better but i hate that she had to deal with that :(

Raven is that girl who knows how to perform and feel the circuit. However, she continues to grow. What an anomaly to come out on the other side and be truly human. Thanks for this insight Ray! ❤️‍🔥

Hearing stories like this makes me want to cry. I feel so bad for her and all of the other child stars. They way they are treated is sad.

Our childhood years are the most important in our lives. I remember there was a saying words hurt more than a fist. You can really tell that the adults that were supposed to be looking after her well being planted negative seeds. I am so glad to see that she really gives zero fucks what people think of her today. I know it’s a different disorder raven mentioned but Im happy she has become more open about it . Literally I feel like we grew up together watching her amazing career. I feel like that hollywood only cares about the weight and looks without thinking twice of the person's emotions or feelings and it hurts that person so much.

For me, seeing Raven on screen as a full sized beautiful, vibrant person, I needed that growing up as a full sized woman myself. I am grateful for the work she's done and for the image she put out on Disney Channel and other networks. The roles she played was always important to me. Thank you sis🙏🏾

I will always be mad how in Cheetah Girls 2 they gave her baggier clothes compared to the other girls. It was so obvious they thought she was big but she really wasn’t.

Raven was the best child actor ever next to Lindsay Lohan. I loved them both so much. Raven was my role model growing up. 😍🤧

I feel like I grew up with Raven. She and I are just a year apart (me born in '87) and I was a huge fan of all the Disney shows, sitcoms and little movies she did, not to mention having grown up on "Cosby Show" reruns. I still remember seeing her in the Zenon flicks & "The Cheetah Girls" and thinking she had the coolest style and how much I wanted to dress like her. It is REALLY sad how pressure to conform to some absurd and illogical "body standard" that doesn't even make sense (as she said, she wasn't even big), impacted her life. She's always been a cool person with a creative aesthetic and it seems Hollywood allowed for no real individuality and creativity with her and just tried to shove her into some mindless teeny-bopper little category that allowed for not an inch of freedom. I'm glad she's out of that. It's occurred to me that being STICK thin influenced a lot of us as girls who grew up in the 90s. That era was insane, demented really, in how it did not allow for differing body types and bone structures but just pushed this emaciated ideal on us. I remember flipping through the pages of magazines then and seeing one supermodel after another who was probably living off of a half of a carrot stick and a teaspoon of dreams, and thinking even then how warped this beauty culture all was. Be healthy of course and strive to feel and look the best that you feel you can look, whatever works for you, is my perspective; but I can't stress enough, especially in the era of Gen Z who gets to see so many more different types of people represented, how TOXIC beauty and fashion standards all were for us as girls back then.

Accountability is kryptonite to females

She wasn’t fat but she did begin to get overweight at some point after That’s So Raven finished. Us (the black community) has always had poor nutrition and physical health when it comes to exercise. We tend to just eat and eat and eat and the majority of us don’t work out or exercise. It’s probably derives from segregation, as we weren’t allowed in those spaces, and it just continued on through generation.

She’s still a cutie.

Funny, I can accross this video after I was just thinking about where my weight/food issues started...for me it was at this cult church where they told me I was gaining weight...before that I had no issues with food and weight. I wish they left me alone.

I think still after all this time her insecurities , she automatically looks at naturally thinner talented women branching out growing up embracing their femininity as "bad" which is so very sad and narrow minded and a very first hand result of how controlled she was and affected she became that it became her identity to stay a "child" not embracing her sensuality and thats how her sexuality came about. I can see how her choice in partner makes her feel "safe" now as that affected child star all "grown". Everyones case is different but girls who love themselves should not care about insecure people like Raven who has been controlled and rejected multiple times which is why she had to start producing embrace who you are no matter what people say , the ones who judge others the most are the ones who have deep identity crisis ! WOmen can be sexy and use their brain ..
