Raven Sacanner has potential, but not quite there yet. Fujitsu is a great scanner.
Here is a link to an updated Scansnap scanner on Amazon. This one does 40 pages per minute amzn.to/3oGrkFS
If you like the Raven Scanner here is a link for that one amzn.to/3BkWRlB
These are paid affiliate links but do not change the price for you.

Thanks for the video. We'd love to clarify that the Raven Scanner is capable of scanning to multiple folders within the same destinations. Those settings can be saved as custom Group Workflows. Additionally, if using Raven Desktop, you can also create custom workflows inclusive of destinations, folders, scan settings, etc. In our next update, you will also be able to connect multiple of the same destination (e.g. a personal Google Drive account and a Business Google Drive account). One of our advantages is the constant automatic updates bringing new features without the need for new hardware. Regarding the brief "pause" in-between pages, the Raven Pro still achieves 60 pages per minute, however these pauses only occur if all image processing settings are enabled (e.g. blank page removal, auto orientation, hole punch removal, etc.). You may enjoy our Raven Original model which scans at the same speeds as the ScanSnap ix1600 and has the same feeder capacity, but is only $439.85. Additionally our Raven Select Standard Scanner is only $284.85 and also has the same speed and capacity, but requires a computer. We hope this helps!

I’m glad Raven has replied here. I should point out that I contacted Raven twice before I posted this video. I did voice all my questions and concerns. The things I express in the video represent what I was told by Raven and what I experienced in use at the time. I do hope improvements can be made.

Hey, since Raven has replied here. I want my money back. You've been selling these scanners for the past year, knowing that you were going out of business. I bought one 3 months ago and it will be a brick on 12/31/23

Just one comment: The ScanSnap iX1600 does scan to different cloud solutions natively without a mMac/PC, for instance ScanSnap Cloud, Evernote, OneDrive, Google Drive etc.

Thank you for your honest unbiased review! It's hard to find this days the genuine review without some kind of sale pitch or informercial speech.

Thanks for an interesting comparison, it clarified much for me. I have no issues with my Scansnap iX500 but like to keep an eye open for a potential replacement for when it finally gives up the ghost.

Thank you for doing this review. I was wondering if our ScanSnap was the best you could buy and I now I feel really good about our purchase. Make it a great day.

I am like Jennikes S., Yikes, this was so confusing. I really didn't understand some of the content. However, I own a Raven Pro and some of the thinking waiting time may be an internet connection issue, that is why the Fujitsu worked seamlessly because it was connected to a computer. However, you can connect a Raven Pro also and may get the same results. A lot of your issues were about the scan pausing, louder than the Fujitsu. Those were all preferences, including the price. If I didn't own this scanner this would not have persuaded me to either scanner. Previous Fujitsu scanners stop getting updates and won't work, so I felt like that was not an option for me again for the price range. Again it is your own preference what you purchase, however people are picky about certain aspects that have nothing to with the quality of the scan resolution of the scanner and the versatility that one has over the other. Just like comparing a BMW to a Genesis, Lexus, etc. So, thank you for trying to put something together like this however I believe in my opinion it was too confusing and not accurate on some parts of the video about one scanner.

Thanks for the feedback. I was just trying to post something that could help potential buyers. Certainly there are things I could have done better. Maybe some day I’ll take another crack at it. But as far as my assessment, I still prefer the Fujitsu 🙂

An extremely low quality tablet glued to a midgrade scanner with gimmicky software does not scream "I am worth $649" to me. I like the idea of the product, and hopefully with the revenue from undiscerning buyers like yourself, they'll be able to make products in the future that aren't quite as needlessly mediocre in various areas. - And nothing about this video was confusing. If it confused you, you're definitely the target market for the Raven, inferior or not. (Perceived?) ease of use for non-techy people seems to be its only true selling point.

Hi Great review, still confused about if the ix1600 can upload the scanned documents directly to the cloud without the need of the PC/Laptop?

Is the Scansnap still faster in the end with the processing? I can chose which folder within dropbox I want to save to and save to a different folder each time right on the Raven Pro?

Hi from France I would like to know on which one it was possible to bypass the computer and use these scans as stand-alone and type on the screen the name of the documents scanned to save on usb drive or a specific folder on your computer... But to scan faster I want to scan type on the screen the name of the documents and save... I don't want to open the computer software dedicated to the scan : I just want to scan, type on the screen the name of the document and automatically save it on the folder chosen (usb drive or computer folder)... By avance many thanks if you can help me on this hard question it seems because I don't find any clear reply showing what I am describing

I'm thinking of going back to the scansnap for a similar reason the lag on the touchscreen for the raven drives me crazy.

I also owned both units for a short time, but I found the Raven to be much easier to use for me, the Raven was much easier to setup from the box. I think both units are great, but for me Raven ease of use gets my vote, Fujitsu is great and I think it has more options as far as if you like to fiddle with settings. Thank you for your frank review.

forgot to mention, the OCR function I found easier to use with Raven. that was also a big determining factor for my choice.

Just so you all know, Raven Scan went out of business and these are pretty much paper weights. You can still scan but there is no OCR functionality anymore

Raven is no longer support their scanners as of Dec 2023, and they seem to have gone out of business. Don't buy a Raven Scanner. I loved my Raven Pro for years, but now need to look for a new scanner.

I think most of the reviews on this are either paid or AI generated. It is getting harder to find honest reviews. Web 3.0 is looking bleak.

Raven went out of business and burnt down all the functionality of their old product on the way out. Zero warning from the company and so far I can't scan to network folders or even a USB. It turns out that all my docs were going through their cloud services (which they shut down) even though I was sending it to a network folder. Trash product, trash company!
