The 2000 Ravens were living proof that you don't need a QB to win

Can you imagine the 2019 Raven Offense with this 2000 Defense. We're talking shutouts and 4-5 TD wins every game.

Not that Oakland had much hope to begin with going against that Baltimore defense, but once Gannon got hurt, that was literally it. The Baltimore offense could've just kneeled the rest of the game and just let that defense feast.

That Ravens defense had no weak spot. They was a brick wall against the run, and generated pressure like 90% of the time against the pass with good secondary play behind it. I'm a Steeler fan, so I love good defenses

There was a guy in Baltimore that year who wouldn't come down off of his roof until the ravens scored an offensive TD during the regular season. He was up there for over a month. I think they went 5 straight games with no offensive TD's and still won all of those games.

Rey Lewis Trent Dilfer round week 7-8 , whenever it was, that “ You just need to get us 10-14 points on the board; that’s all we need” ! At time people said Ray was to Cocky and all that, but as each week passed, it was true. Only Titans scored 23: who were Ravens biggest rival that season, & Jets scored more then 10 against Ravens from that point on. Only allowed 23 points in 3 playoff games & Super bowl ( the super bowl win was 1 kickoff return by NYG from Only shutout in history! Jermaine Lewis answered that with a Kickoff return right after That!! ). That Ravens D was most dominating D we will ever see !!!

Just think about how many penalties would’ve been call in this game,if they played with today’s rules

No one talks enough about Sam Adams. He was an absolute menace in the middle. His explosion off the snap was ridiculous especially for a man his size.

I am a Steelers fan and will admit that 2000 was definitely the Ravens year. What I found ironic was that the head coach, Brian Billick, was the Vikings offensive coordinator who led a record-breaking offense in 1998.

Greatest Defense in the history of Football, This Ravens team demolished my Broncos in the first round this same year, I was in high school at the time I remember telling my dad, that nobody had a chance of beating this team. I can believe its been 23 years

Forcing 5 turnovers and making Gruden's offense look completely inept. This defense was INSANE I don't think we've seen a more vicious defense since. 49ers and Seahawks in early 2010's were both elite defenses but they look like child's play compared to this brutal group

That defense dominated, harrassed and destroyed opposition offenses. They took away their will to fight. It all started with the Dline especially Sam Adams and Siragusa just blowing things up, the sheer size of those two. And ofcourse Ray Lewis, Bulware and the Secondary with Rod Woodson, McAllister and Starks. 1 offensive TD allowed in 4 playoff games. Never seen anything like it. Opposition QB ratings : Terry Collins 7.1, Gannon 22, McNair 55, Frerotte 44

You left out the dropped TD by Randy Jordan that could've changed the complexion of the game. Instead of 10-7 and needing Dilfer to make a play, it was still 10-3 and Baltimore could keep grinding away.

Anthony Dorsett was the biggest waste of space...shit angle on a 3rd and slant to punt and turned it in to 96 yards. Just awful.

Not that it would have made a difference but Tony Siragusa should have been ejected from the game and suspended for the super bowl for dropping his entire weight on Rich Gannon.
