Here is a little different video than normal a raw and uncut speedrun from the Niederhorn to Interlaken /Switzerland with my buddy Evan. NO MUSIC If you want to skip to the action smoke on at 5:40
As an old hangglider pilot... turned to paraglider...turned to paramotor that was a fantastic and skilled flight. Got my heart pumping...loved the raw sound and no music. Visceral :)
He's the best. I can't believe how close to the ground he gets! I'm a novice hang glider pilot and this both inspires me and scares the shit out of me!
Excellent with no music...tell me you surveyed that route before you flew it....lots of power cables at one point. I just sat with my mouth open through half of that!
Fantastic. What perfect video. Even though I am sure you new the course of your flight you got so low I just new you where about to splat something. Thanks for sharing.
Low level flying, for this '70's era HG pilot, powered since and currently, IS THE MOST FUN ANY PILOT, OF ANY TYPE OF FLYING DEVICE, CAN HAVE! Well done. Some of my most memorable memories of hang gliding were low level, skimming ridges, in Big Sur, this vid brought it all back.
As an old hang glider pilot and former home builder. That blow me away. The speed, the clean stable wing. Who knew proximity hang gliding would be a thing. The loop at the end. Brought thoughts of an old friend, RIP Chris Smith.
Just about the best thing I’ve seen on RU-vid.....most HG’s I’ve seen seem to have quite flimsy sails/wings, ( whatever they’re called) ! Yours looks like a very robust ( fixed ?) wing. You sure know how to fly, I had my heart in my mouth all the way down & the landing was spectacular, in this layman’s eyes !! Bravo, thank you, & my the higher power keep you safe !!
Dudes, I'm sure he surveys the route, and flies a bit lower each time. Nobody just goes lawn mowing through power lines and hopes for the best. Excellent and beautiful video Wolfgang! Makes me nervous, but that makes it fun to watch. Be careful! 360 degree cam would be sweet!
Hi from New Zealand , hey Ive been around and flown most things ( hang gliders in the 70s sailplanes in the 80s many hours) and Ive watched many flying videos....this one is one of the top ones Ive ever seen, beats wingsuit flying hands down ...subscribed, happy landings my friend :)
I flew hang gliders a lot in the 90's, and fun doesn't begin to describe it. For me, it was get high and (sometimes) go far, so speed running wasn't really a thing that I knew here in California, except for escaping OD sucking you up (read thunderstorms). Then I happen on this by accident, watching a very talented pilot on a slippery topless rig at full VG negotiating this run. I'm speechless, except what a great job!
Best kind of flying I ever had. Im commercial pilot for decades but this is the real deal.. Just don't get too close to the ground and you will be ok. Put a distance, like 10' or 5 feet minimum safety distance, etc. and never go closer to that. when no limits are put, disaster awaits..
Hey Wolfgang: could you do this run again with a 360 camera like the Garmin Virb 360? I think it'd be every VR advocate's wet dream to have something like this to show in a headset and feel what it's like to fly along.
Good God! I have about 40 solo flights under my belt 20 years ago and am watching this wishing I had never quit! I am going to start flying again next year!!!
Now even the hanglider pilots are getting into chemtrails!!!! When will it stop??? : ) This is by my favorite HG video!!!! Love it!!! As a presently ex glider pilot myself this was extremely inspiring. No doubt it is time to buy another one!!!
Very nice flight and superb control. I flew in the mid 80s to mid 90s and the only glider back then I could hope to do a sustained high speed run with without experiencing PIO was the WW Ram Air. That glider tracked like on rails but handled poorly when thermaling or scratching. I know gliders have come a looong way since then and Wills Wing makes if not the best, among the best gliders in the world and that T2C sure is sweet. Fun to see how many obviously none pilots comment on the danger of this run when, as a pilot, it's clear to see the many factors that were considered before this run, the high level of control shown by the pilot and how much energy is carried through all the high speed, close vicinity passes, only to be bled off in that last turn before final.
@@JosiasRivera This is not pushing boundries, it's just being reckless. Remember, when you are killed your family has to pick up the pieces and try to carry on. It is devastating for a parent or young child.
@@rogeronslow1498 It's not without risk, but I'm pretty sure he knows this route quite well before going very low. It's certainly not on the same level of risk as proximity wing suit runs have. Unlike with a wing suit the energy he is carrying and glide ratio his wing has he can climb any time he feels uncomfortable with what he sees ahead. Regardless we all live with a death sentence, it's not appropriate to value life infinitely.
He said he's a professional pilot. People don't pay you to fly your glider if you just meander around in the clouds. If a movie studio needs a crazy scene that interacts with the ground, who will they call? Someone like this.
