The Weld County District Attorney's office released photos, hours of videos and other items related to the Chris Watts case.
The documents released include phone interviews, drone video of the oil well site where the bodies of Shanann Watts and her daughters' bodies were found, as well as photos of the search of the Watts' home.
9Wants To Know has reviewed several of the videos that have been released, including videos of Chris Watts' polygraph tests.

I'm gonna be 34 this month and I'm certainly not super intelligent or anything but when I'm in certain situations, I make sure I'm speaking in a manner appropriate to the situation. Among friends and what not I swear and use slang words, but situations like this you would think he would at least try to put together a full sentence lol. Good grief. That being said, he's panicking on the inside and most likely can't find words quick enough to lie which is why every other word is "like". I bet this is his modus operandi when he begins spewing bullshit. I'm sure his poor wife heard "like" often...

If ever a person needed to lawyer up, this man did. Good thing he was so arrogant that he thought he could trick seasoned investigators + a polygraph! I really, really like this investigator. She is so non-threatening, very empathetic demeanor, that it would feel to a suspect more like talking to a counselor or friend. The cops, CID, FBI, prosecutors, and other investigators did a great job in tying up this case in the short time it took.

After watching, reading, following true crime for many a decade, my advice to *anyone* is to lawyer up immediately, even if you are an innocent victim of a crime. I know I would. We have these constitutional rights, and we have every right to invoke them. If you are innocent and want to be helpful and cooperative with the investigation, you can still do that with a lawyer by your side.

When my daughter was murdered, they had to knock me out because I cried constantly for days and months. I had to be put on meds for ptsd. Even though I was medicated I couldn't carry on a conversation for a very long time, due to crying. My life was changed that day. I haven't slept more than 2 hrs at a time, and it been 5 years.

I am so sorry to hear about your losses. I can empathize. My 20 yr old nephew who was murdered. And worse, my beloved GrandOne, Bree. She was 3 yrs old. I don’t know if it gets better. saying "like" all the time is not a sign of deception at all. its a filler word. what is a sign of lying is talking for 20mins and giving her his whole life story before getting to the actual few days before she went missing. his use of the words "was" instead of "is" in reference to his wife "she was great"...he should say she IS great, thats big red flag. when explaining about coming home to find her and kids missing, he suddenly starts saying "we" "we couldnt find her, she just went missing" a liar always wants to disperse responsibility.

It’s as if he’s rehearsed for a college midterm exam and he thinks he’s coasting his way by, scoring high marks on every question, saying all the right stuff, ready to pop the champagne and walk out celebrating he pulled this whole murder thing off. So smooth. You sense this sigh of relief coming over him with a kind understanding female CBI agent. He established a connection with her all about North Carolina stuff and she’s his best friend. Except one MAJOR obvious problem. You see? You failed! A man who WAS telling the truth less than 48 hours after a disappearance would be running around frantic unable to gasp for air! THAt is what says it all!

He's not telling the truth about how serious the incident was with his mother deliberately trying to upset Shannan by giving the other kids ice cream with nuts in it in front of Cece. When Shannan confronted her mother in law she replied that this was a good lesson for Cece to learn, that she could not have everything she wanted. Cece was crying and upset that everyone else had ice cream except her. It was a cruel thing to do and a deliberate provocation to Shannan.

If he would have stuck to his story...he didnt know where they were and lawyered up, they still would have found shanann rather quick, decomposing bodies dont smell good especially in the heat of August, then the bed sheet was there, it wouldnt take a genius to check the tanks if the girls weren't buried, then they had the video of him loading his truck, GPS on the truck going to the burial site...he was a sitting goose about to be cooked.. I agree he just made it faster...

The most scary thing about this interview is that he actually believes his own lies.The truth is too awful to face, so he has made himself believe his delusions of how life was/is. When he talks about NOT having an affair and what "type of guy" he is.. I mean lest than 72 hours before this he pushed his dead daughters bodies into an oil tank and dug a grave for his pregnant wife. As we know he DID have an affair, but he is so enjoying talking about himself and the story that he has made up of how normal he his of how his life is that he is just talking and talking and the more he talks the more he is believing what he is saying. We would like to think of him as a monster so we can remove this from us, but he is human and this is what makes this so frightening. We all have a good wolf and a bad wolf and they fight in us all our live.. which one wins? The one you feed.

That’s just a very common deception tactic. It’s called a “convincing statement”. The liar will try to convince you there’s no way they would have done whatever they’re being accused of because of some personality trait they possess, what they do professionally, their history as a moral person, etc.

He gives himself away at approx 22:09. “I never had the inkling that she’d do the same (self corrects himself) do anything to me.” He was talking about extra marital affairs and at that point he’d yet to come clean about his. Just prior to this he’d been telling her that everyone knew he could be trusted and would never cheat on his wife because he respects her too much. He’s a piece of work and a half.

Shannan asked him how he could have fallen out of love in 5 weeks and why he talked her into having another baby when he was not sure about their marriage. Before she went to NC and while he was still seeing his mistress he and Shannan were close and intimate, having sex 3 times a day, he was attentive to her and the kids, he was affectionate to her. Thats why it came as such a shock when he shut down communication before he even arrived there for the last week of the vacation and he was really cold to her when he did arrive, and dropped this bombshell on Shannan that he wanted to separate as he didn't think they were compatibly any more. She was devastated and cried for hours every night, not sleeping for days on end. And lying when she asked if he was having an affair.

@Amy Shakalis They suited each other at one time but Shannan was growing and changing and going ahead, while he remained the same......I was married to a man like him. He didn't like it when I got a good job (not the menial one he wanted me to get) and began making new friends who were a huge threat to him. I was gaining my independence - and standing up to him more. The violence and abuse increased the more he lost control of me.
