That's what I was just telling my husband. If this was me and my husband and children were missing I would have flipped out by now. I think I would have been screaming at them for wasting so much time. Yet I understand they know he was involved.

I have never seen how a polygraph is administered. I still don’t think they are gospel, in this case I feel like they knew he was involved and lying but this is a metric by which they can confirm his lying and use it as a tool to convince him that they know he wasn’t truthful. All that being said this is quite a process, I think they added to it some in order to keep him talking. I think the “lie detector” is a combination of both things, an experienced investigator who has dealt with a lot of liars asking questions and “feeling out” a suspect and the other, smaller part is of course hooking up the machine and asking the yes/no questions.

@@vtwinbuilder3129 Supposedly they are accurate 66% of the time. So if you are ever asked to submit to a polygraph you have to remember that even if you are 100% honest they are wrong 1/3 of the time. Scary odds if you ask me.

It sounded like he wanted her to confirm what was going to happen to him, because he knew he was guilty. If he was innocent he would have had an emotional reaction to that question. I know I would. I would have cried and refused to accept that they had been murdered. Normal people hold out hope even when the odds don't look good. His reaction seemed cold and clinical :'(

There are several moments during this whole interrogation process that just seemed quite genius to me. There were moments where they would build him up, to tear him down again. So many clever digs at him. It showed total confidence within the investigators and demonstrated the complete lack of control Chris would have. The question, " what should happen to the guy that hurt them"? was pretty much the investigator showing to Chris, "look, we know you killed them and we're going to let you fill us in on how lenient the punishment is that you create in your mind" . We are very fortunate to how incredibly stupid this guy was. He never quite noticed when he had been had and just gifted something to them.
