A self selection board is a fun way for your pet to choose what they want to eat and in what order. Not only is this enjoyable for them to pick and choose, but it’s mentally enriching as well!
Tangy isn’t too picky, I think he was just choosing what was the closest to his mouth LOL, but as you can also see, there were a few things he decided not to eat. I usually mix his powdered meal additions in with his food so he isn’t often just eating a big mound of it. Also, he’s really not a fan of ground meat! He loves his chunks.

Well, I think he was full by the time he found the kelp and the egg yolk, but at least he tried them! I think he kept hoping the turkey had magically turned into something else, that's why he kept putting his nose back on it. But I never saw him try it, even once.

I think his interest just grew as the other, tastier foods ran out. But even with nothing else left to eat, he didn't seem to trust the turkey. Being full was probably also a factor.

Definitely anime and video game figurines in the back. Instantly recognized DBZ since I write fanfiction for it to this day. FMA, Majora's Mask (perhaps?), and Vincent from FFVII maybe (not sure since that figure didn't fit in the screen). But anyways, back to the cat eating food. ^.^; I've been watching dogs eat raw food, but cats are so much cuter and quieter when it comes to that sort of thing. Also, you have a beautiful cat!

i am a raw feeder also. It is all depends. if your cat is active, feed it 5% of body weight. the range is between 2 to 5 % of actual body weight. 3 protein is ideal.

I actually have a video on how to raw feed for cheap! But it's perfectly fine to feed meats from grocery stores. You can also post on Craigslist or Facebook marketplace asking if anyone is doing a freezer clean out or are hunters that have off-cuts they can give you. I've actually had some success with that and got a lot of stuff for free! Same with farmers at farmers markets (which I do most of the time) they may be able to save some cuts for you that humans don't eat for free.

Not at all necessary. In fact, rinsing it in a sink will just spread bacteria everywhere. Freezing it kills most, if not all bacteria present in the meat. What is necessary is to wash your hands and sanitize all surfaces you prepared it in like you would for yourself. I hope this helped. :)

Leaving them out to get to room temperature isn't recommended. I suppose you could try heating it in your oven for a minute? I don't believe that would actually cook anything, just warm it.

I don't! The most common intestinal parasites are hookworms, roundworms, and tapeworms. Hooks and rounds come from infected feces that your pet can get by accidentally ingesting, and tapes come from ingesting fleas. There are parasites that can be in certain meat or fish (wild caught) and to remedy this they should be frozen for 3-4 weeks. I used to feed a black stray a slice of turkey every day, before I moved... She's probably starved to death by now, the poor thing... Ppl who dislike black cats for luck are stupid, cuz when I first met her and fed her, I got a 100 on a really hard social studies exam. But that's not the point, she was the only friend I had at the time... I missed the way she'd join my evening walks after I fed her... 😭

Are kidneys sold in the US already cleaned? Are they smelly? In my country I have to clean them a lot to remove the pee smell. My dog won't even touch them if I give them to him raw, and he loves raw. I have to warm them up in water and vinegar to remove the smell...

A lot of what you see here was actually free from my local farmers. You can get a lot of good cuts that butchers/farmers/hunters would just toss since humans don't eat them

That's a pretty common myth! Cats are obligate carnivores (obligated to eat meat) and nothing has changed regarding that during domestication. Cats and dogs are easy to nutritionally abuse because of how resilient they are. If anything, it's harder for cats (and dogs!) to process the grains and carbohydrates in kibble - they're not at all species appropriate foods.

So because I don’t know, and I DO know that pets are domesticated, and see, humans are domesticated technically and raw meat makes us sick. So I figured it’d be the same. Thank you for explaining!

I feel like feeding any animal raw meat is scary cause of parasites and worms.... I don't know who started this trend of raw food dieting but I hope it stops asap it is making me sad and upset... Always a common misconception if it's usda inspected human grade & commercially raised pork. The only time you need to worry about feeding pork is if it's wild boar as they're at risk for psudorabies or trichinosis. I did a whole video on it as well!

Cats can get sick as a result of the parasites and bacteria living in raw meat which can contaminate raw diets. It is possible for cats to pass this on to humans, and to shed bacteria within the household
