I've been watching your videos for years. I think surfing is in my soul (and I've done it a few times), but I don't live near any coastline. What I want to say is that I paused this video just 6 minutes in to leave this comment. It is the only comment I have ever left on one of your videos and I seldom comment on any RU-vid videos. Why you and why now? That's simple. Seeing the process of just getting out to Pipeline is entirely new to me. While it might not appeal to the masses of surfers at all, it was a magnificent thing for me to watch and see the process. I would imagine that there are others who feel the same. I know that my heart will place me next to the ocean someday and then I will get to surf. For now, I only see things through videos. THIS video was one of your best in my honest opinion as a landlocked, yet to be Grom. Thank you!!!
I’ve always been fascinated by surfing ever since I was a teenager. I subscribed to surfing magazines while my friends all read Tiger Beat. I have no clue why I was drawn to it since I grew up on the prairies in Canada no where near the ocean. I’ve never surfed probably because I’m not a strong swimmer and have bad balance. The ocean is my happy place. And now with your pov’s I’m finally able to experience surfing just as I dreamed of for so many years. These are epic videos and thank you for getting me as close to actually surfing as possible
What an amazing video!!! Thank you Jamie. That was incredible to watch. You have such a great feel for where the wave is gonna break. GoPro is the best! Happy you're safe. Legend!
Nice post Jamie, you were psyched from the garage to line up in maybe 5 minutes that's intense. You make it look kind of easy and I know it sure not easy.
I watch JOB’s regular vids and say that looks easy I’m pretty sure with some practice I could get barreled. Then I watch the raw vids and think I could easily die just trying to paddle out!
Thanks Mr. Bonzai for the real life view of the good the bad and the ugly. Beautiful gem of a life. I'm happy to see you charish and inspire through the video share. This is living. haha Psyched. Thanks for not showing 5 minutes of your cat. haha Love you Nate. Show more Italo! Invite some super groms on a surf trip. Don't listen to me.
Great POV's JOB & literally demonstrating the 'problem' w. Going Right, you really have to know what you're doing out there simply to avoid a date w. The reef
Dude. Thanks you for doing another one of these. So sick, actually shows how much athleticism goes into surfing. Edits show none of thee real chaos. Easier too, fire your editor and just do these! lol
Love the POV man! Ever thought about doing a video on what you look for in a perfect wave? What makes a wave good or bad? I have no idea as a mainlander.
I'll give you credit brother. Anymore I just refuse to surf in crowds like that. But you are the man and I know you get enough respect to get a few waves.
What would have been cool in the initial paddle out was some sort of side by side shot animation that showed where Jamie began his paddle out, where the current dragged him throughout it and then into the lineup. Kind of like how the NFL does when they track a QB scramble of 5 yards but he really ran 65 yards all together.
Why's everyone hate on you jamie? Lol I think you're the man straight local legend bro I can't wait to come to Hawaii next year. Gonna get barreled and hopefully meet you!🤙
Went to france in September and 14:30 reminded me of a singular wave that caught me off guard somehow I duck dove under it never seen a wave so big in my life.
Getting hit by somebody's loose board. It happened to me about 20 years ago. Got hit right in the tear duct of my left eye. Now 20 years later, my left eye is now going blind. Nerve Damages... No more crowds ever for me.... Goggles... A face shield.
Unreal..Great POV,it was almost just like being there..Really cool look at how much work it is,just to get out there, battle the competition then pick the right wave..You have a helmet cam too, right? And I'm curious to know if there is a mouth piece attachment for the cam or are you simply gripping it with your teeth?!! Probably a stupid question but it definitely takes skill & the ability to multi-task..Haha!! Thanks for all the hard work..Epic AF!!
