Mr & Mrs Roberts Q&A Time!
I asked you what questions you would like us to answer as an interabled couple - i.e. one disabled partner and one non-disabled partner, over on my instagram account @the_searchforsilverlinings
Find out the answers to such questions as -
“Did you find it easy to adapt to the role of carer”
“Does he treat you differently now you’re disabled”
“How do you keep the intimacy alive”
We decided to answer honestly and off the cuff with no rehearsal which made for quite a revealing chat with both of us wondering what the other would say!
Let us know if you would like us to do videos like this and if there is something in particular you'd like us to talk about.
Enjoy!

Thank you for making this video together. It’s really important to share how we feel and how we adapt to our new realities.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, I love this q&a, its resonates so much with us too. Mr R you smashed it! We have ended up with such a dark sense of humour, but it helps us so much! The medical profession have so much to answer for, they can cause so much more damage than the actual condition itself!, with all the gaslighting that goes on!

Also, my husband and I have been through almost everything you talked about…. We are seven years in, still seeing doctors that say is anxiety, in my head. I have FND, my husband deals with it so much better than me ❤❤

And it is not just being disabled. This reasonates with just the aging process too. It seems like we are always making adjustments. Thanks.

I have been going through this Fnd nightmare and have been fortunate to have care and support from my siblings. Sadly we have lost our eldest brother and sister and the tremendous support and companionship they were able to provide so an awful lot has landed on William shoulders. Luckily for me he is very level headed and resourceful. I never in a million years would have imagined how drastically my life could change but here we are early retired no use to anybody and terrible dread of where do we go from here.

Thank you for doing this q&a, a lot of the things you touched upon really helped me understand that what I'm feeling is normal. I'm a single mum of two only just adult children and I also hate asking for help my 18 Yr old daughter says I'm too stubborn lol. X

Thank you so much for posting this vlog. It resonates with my husband and I. My husband still struggles with understanding the impact of my conditions. Going from an active person to someone who is in chronic pain etc. It would be helpful if you are able to do an FND vlog. I finally got my diagnosis after 3 years. Kind regards, Jane

It’s not an easy transition and we are most definitely still finding our way - with a few wrong turns still getting thrown in! But it helps to laugh when we can and keep remembering why we’re doing it - for love ❤️ I’m glad our video has helped a little bit and we thank you so much for watching 🙏
