I used to race a 2001 cr125 and then moved to a yz250 then eventually a crf450r which I race now..... I noticed on the 2 strokes especially the 125's the like it on the pipe in the corners and let the back tire get loose searching for traction.... 4strokes hate that because whenever you give it ANY gas it automatically hooks up..... I love the 450 but again I miss my 2 strokes

Greater corner speed. That's how Johnny O'mara caught passed and BEAT 500cc World Champion David Thorpe at the MX des Nations years ago. FYI, Antonio Cairoli, 7 x World Champion trains on 2T and then races the 350F against 450Fs and STILL WINS. 4T bikes make you lazy and slow and dependent on the machine more than yourself.

vertti syrjälä in europe it's normal to pass from 125 to 250f, someone jump directly on 250f but against a kid that worked hard on a 125 there is no doubt on who's faster.

They take the older ones, or maybe the last year and update the plastic and a bunch of parts to bring them up to date and ride them, I have a 2005 kx250 that looks almost new because of the newer style plastic on it

The only maufacturers that have 2-strokes in their product range nowadays are yamaha and KTM. Suzuki unfortunately quit in 2008. It is a lot about that they need more gas and are less environmentally friendly. At least in europe that is a criteria. You can see all over the bike racing world that it is dominated by 4-strokes. Mostly in Motocross and Enduro you still have 2-strokes regularly. A lot of podiums in extreme enduro are on 2-strokes. It is a great engine, simple in it's design. I would say it is different not better or worse. At the end of the day it matters if you can put the power on the dirt track. I know a guy that rocked a whole club against all the new ktm, kawa, suzi with his 125cc twostroke because he has great technique. Ride what you love and don't give a fuck about anybodys opinion. With ten people in the motorcycle world there is 11 opinions.

OifelOifel I get pretty great gas mileage on my 2006 CR125. The jetting has a lot to do with gas mileage.
