I saw the smoke at sunset and wondered where the fire was… Zaca Lake area north of Los Padres National Forrest. My prayers for those putting it out safely and quickly. 🙏🙏
Squeezing past the "Road Closed" barriers, I rode my motorcycle up Foxen Canyon road today to get as close to the Western edge of the fire as possible. I was amazed at how far it got overnight. This fire is in a very remote, very rugged and very rural part of the North-central part of Santa Barbara county. The fire is in the rugged and steep and virtually inaccessible San Rafael Mountains. This afternoon the fire was some miles North of Los Olivos, extended North to the Sisquoc river and west to Foxen Canyon road; to the East of the fire is a huge wilderness area of equally rugged terrine. All us locals know that historic Foxen Canyon Road from Sisquoc to Los Olivos is one of the best drives anywhere and it is especially enjoyable on a motorcycle.
The smoke was really pluming up and beginning to spread out/sprawl west-east and south. Noticed the haze was hit with ripples earlier, the microwave frequencies
Seriously you have no clue what your on about, beams rubbish - this is fuel burning at an extremely high temperature, the fuels produce gases that produce long, swirling coloured flames, the colour is due to type of fuel pine, leaves, grass...this is 100% natural...Im a veteran fire fighter and have hundreds of fires like this

It's not going to get better anytime soon. This year scientists discovered that parts of the world where air has been cleaned of hydrocarbons are still warming more than expected because the hydrocarbon particles were actually warming AND cooling at the same time....the particles were acting as shade preventing 100% sunlight and rays from reaching the surface. They knew warming was going to occur with cleaner air, but not as much as what is occurring. The warming is slowing, but the cooling is disappearing faster than the warming....and they don;' know how much net positive warming will occur. Of course it is good to have cleaner air and should keep cleaning the air. But temperature goals will not be met.
