I feed my dog with raw food, it's even cheaper than high-quality kibble food, she was eating dry food before, but I wanted the best for her. Many dry foods are low quality so comparing to that raw food is more expensive, but with dry foods, you can't be sure what they are adding into the ingredients.

@@baymaxred6697 Well firstly, I don't buy meat quality for human consumption. We have specialized shops with raw foods just for dogs and cats consumption. 1kg of meat or bones is around 1-5€ depends on the type of meat. My dog has 13kg, so food for her is around 10-30€ monthly, again depends on the type of meat. Occasionally they offer exotic animals such as kangaroos.

My dog hated kibble. She ended up refusing to eat. I was really worried so I did research on raw food. I took the chance and slowly altered by dog's diet until she was on a 100% raw diet. You should see her now! Her coat is so soft and has a nice shine. Her teeth are white and she doesn't have diarrhea anymore. 100% recommend!!

@@taylorlove9602 Dogs can get diarrhea not just because there is a small chance of salmonella. You have to balance bone with non-bone and if you don't get the balance right for your dog it can cause an upset stomach. It could be that your dog was allergic to something in the food. My dog is allergic to all chicken and fish so we worked out a raw meal that worked best for her. Some bone, some not bone. Like, if she has a complete in the morning with no bone then she could have a duck foot for tea with lots of bone c:

@@tango5074 raw meat is not good for dogs. Diarrhea proves it. You can buy refrigerated cooked meat it's a brand called fresh pet they sell it at petsmart. Mix it with kibble the kibble is good for their teeth. My dog has severe diarrhea from raw meat and a upset stomach she was sick

@@taylorlove9602 Then your dog is probably allergic to meat because not all dogs can stomach raw food and thats just how it is for some. But kibble is not good for dog's teeth, it's full of sugar. I'm not arguing over whether kibble or raw is better.

I’ve got a 6 month old staffy and 9 years old English bull terrier and they’re both on raw. They’re both fit as a fiddle, both got nice white teeth, shiny coats and they are both very muscular. It’s cheaper than the kibble. I’d recommend to anybody. They absolutely love it too. You get to change it up for them too instead of having dry biscuits everyday they get chicken, beef, lamb, salmon, turkey, tripe, venison, duck, rabbit etc.

My dog stopped eating kibble and wet dog food when she was about a year old. I tried countless brands before starting to cook for her and she loved it. I was planning on cooking for her once she was no longer a puppy anyways so she gave me a head start! We’ve since progressed to a premade raw diet with some homemade cooked meals mixed in here and there and she couldn’t be happier.

My dog always vomited dry food up in huge piles. She then succumbed to an enlarged heart. If I had known about raw food sooner, I would have just put her on a raw diet. Dry food only made her sick. You never know what gets into processing plants that creates a silent killer for your dog. If not enough dogs die to a certain brand, then the brand won't be recalled. I think it is safer to know exactly what you are feeding your dog and tailoring their diet to them accordingly.

Just got my dog on the raw diet two days ago, went out and bought liver, chicken gizzard, intestines, chicken breast, red meat, chicken feet, ground beef. Still learning and plan on finding more different kind of raw meat to give my german shepherd. He loves raw food, first day I gave him a raw meal he was wagging his tail and excited.

It would have been nice to hear more about how fillers in dog food is bad. Also, cooking meat kills valuable nutrients that you dog needs, so in commercial dog food they try to replace it, which isn't the same.

I have a twelve year old cross Yorkie. For the last couple of years she has had IBS and she was miserable. A very fussy eater. The vet prescribed Omoprezole for her which helped slightly. I have just got a Labradoodle puppy and decided to start her off on raw food(I checked with the vet first). The Yorkie has been eating the raw food as well, which she loves, and she no longer suffers with IBS and her poo is back to normal instead of bloody diahorea. She is a much happier dog. As you say in your video, we don't know what is in kibble, also it is highly processed. It is just like us humans, we should eat more natural food that is not over processed. 😊👍

My 10 pound poodle mix had his right abdomen swollen by his rib cage . I researched and realized his liver was swollen . Prior to that I took him to a vet, all they did was charge me over $600 to make tests because he was acting drunk, and wasn't acting normal , kept throwing up. All they tell me is that his intestines were swollen . My own research helped my dog, I switched to raw food, and he looks thinner, poops less, and took a few days to realize his right side of his stomach by the rib is not inflamed anymore .

Finally, a common sense approach. Not evangelising in favour of either. My boy is on a combo diet of very high quality kibble and raw meat, including soft bones (raw chicken), mixed organ meats and veggies, all raw "human" grade products. If I don't know what the ingredient in the kibble is, it's researched and a decision made. Vet always compliments him on weight, dental condition and coat. 😊

I think it all depends on the dog. I don't know if I'm right but I think raw/home-cooked is better for bigger dogs; I had a schnauzer and she lived 15 healthy years eating kibble (a good quality brand) and now I have a golden retriever that is really happy and healthy eating home-cooked, (I cook Somethings and leave others uncooked, I discovered is what works best for her), she stopped eating kibble when she turned 1, we tried many brands and she refused to eat any of them, once we changed her diet her poop improved, as well as her hair and breath, and overall she seems happier at meal times ☺

We have my dog on kibble and she has no issue with it at all. I’d love to get her on a raw diet but I just don’t have the excess money for that. And honestly she’s still in great health and she has almost a perfect build.

The video is clearly biased against kibble. Our mixed-breed dog (26 kg) has been on a medium-cost commercial dog food for three years, and does not get table scraps or any 'human' food. She has lots of energy, a good coat, soft but firm stools, and gets a clean bill of health from the vet at her biannual checkups.

My 2 year old Labrador will eat anything but I was getting concerned about the I'll effects kibble has on dogs. Being a nutritional therapist I know just how powerful real food is so I made the switch. I'm actually spending less on raw food than I was on kibble!! Her coat is shiny, teeth are beautifully white, and her immune system is strong. My only complaint is she doesn't listen as well to commands anymore unfortunately and wants to be more independent. Oh well, it's a well worth trade off!

I have read that mixing raw and kibble hurts dogs stomach, there are some studies about this, the reason is that raw food digestion is different to kibble digestion. If this is the case then your recomendation might be incorrect, what do you think about this?

Good question. Well, take your own example. Sometimes, we eat food which takes up a lot time to digest in our stomach. for example: Highly processed fast food and along with that we also eat 1-2 fruit sometimes. But our stomach digest the very first thing which is easy to digest and i.e fruits. and then the fast food. Does eating a soft digestible food with highly processed food makes the whole digestion difficult? Does you fall sick all the time? No. Because your stomach digestion ability must be good. But some people have sensitive stomach due to which they frequently fall sick due to eating highly processed food. So similarly, some dogs have good digestion and some dogs don't. According to your dog's digestion ability, prepare its food.

@@yvonnelowry3137 I hope you've switched your dog to another brand or home-cooked food. Purina Pro Plan has been making dogs very sick recently and some have died. I will most likely be feeding my dog the best air-dried dog food I can find + home-cooked + a bit raw, including ground bones and/or ground eggshells.

Sometimes kibble isn’t as bad as it seems as long as your buying from trusted brands like hills ect however I can support the hybrid diet what I thought might work (correct me if I’m wrong) is feeding your dog the hybrid forever instead of changing it to 50% 55% 60%ect… might be better because it’s combining both nutritional values

i realised something in the system was wrong ,when dogs are dying at 12 , 13, 15 etc etc ,,i had to find out why ,what is it thats killing our dogs so soon ..i had many sleepless nights ,i would spend days in the library reading every book i could find on the anatomy of dogs , i would talk to vets ,email world famous vets ..i had compiled documents ,folders , newspaper cuttings , magazines , video's and then ,one night lying in bed ,it hit me ..The foolhardy food hammers into the terrific normal. ....yes ,that was it !!! after 7 years of deep research i had finally found the answer ..since giving my dog the same normal food as i eat he has now hit 54 years of age ..[human age not dog!!] and hes still going strong ,i expect him to live to at least 70 ,, since he does not drink alcohol .

Im still having confusions about raw or cooked meat. So im giving my dogs a little bit of everything. Raw meat, raw bone, cooked meat (no cooked bone) mixed with kibble. And i observe which one they are more interested in.

You can give both no issues in that. When u give raw just make sure its properly washed.

That's fine but DO NOT wash raw meat. It is actually more dangerous to do so. Bacteria gets spread around like an air born virus. The meat is just fine to give to your puppy! :)

We feed our dog fresh meat (usually cooked just for dogs preference) mixed with Canine Health mix from Dr Harvey. This seems to work the best for our dog's digestion. If he eats only meat, his stool is too soft. Supplement as a snack with Wild Earth kibble.

If your dog seems to be getting diarrhoea then maybe add pumkin purée to your dogs food, it stop diarrhoea but also stops constipation so it balances it out. Pumkin is a very good additive to your dogs food

I buy Marty's pet !!!! Totally raw and freeze dried!!! It's expensive but Oprah Winfrey buys the same thing for her dogs and so does Ceasar Milan!!!!! My pet bull loves it and she is looking awesome!!!!! Highly Highly recommend!!!!! It has changed my baby moo moo's life she acts like is a puppy!!!! Her skin looks great and her fur is shiny!!!! She eats raw organic Salmon, organic Cod!!!! Everything totally organic!!!!

Literally a majority of what he says about dry kibble is wrong. Kibble is what causes tarter build up because of the carbs and sugers, it is hardly ever 'balanced' and is loaded with addatives, and the only only reason it is more palitable is because it is often sprayed with flavorings. Honestly the only benefits I see to it is cost (barely because if you try you can find affordable raw food), and convieniance of feeding. My dog at the moment has terrible allergies from his kibble and nothing is fixing it so I have started to add a bit of raw to his food and already see him feeling so much better. Research is key for both raw and kibble, but raw will always give a bit more than kibble.

Like giving just kibble and raw meat can increae the protein in diet which can adversely affect the kidney and pancrease. So always consult to vet before starting on anything. I wouldn't dare fees my dog kibble. Ever. Wolves were never fed kibble. Wolves live for up to 25yrs on a raw diet. Yes thats a fact. The enzymes in a domesticated dogs stomach haven't changed from it's ancestors.

Hi! Just want to tell you that I introduce raw food to both my 21months dog and 15 years old dog. It sure us had issues with transition and the senior had hard time to do it first, but now! I must say he gets healthier and his fur are so much shinier than before. And he gets the energy to play again!! It never to late I guess to introduce raw food 😀, it safe a lot of vet cost too. My senior dog used to go to the vet because his digestive system was bad and often threw up if he ate something that un- tolerate able to his tummy.

Also, you get fibre supplement from market. That you can add in her food. This helps with sensitive stomach. My dog had colitis, diarrhoea and digestive issues all the time when she was on dry kibbles. But with fibre supplements and cooked and raw food mixed she is healthy and her poo is soft.

My dog hates dog food, like kibble, Pedigree any kind. Tried other brands same thing. HATES them. Tried cooked Sausages, he SWALLOWS them with spaghetti. He LOVES eggs, milk and cereal. Hates vegetables. He's so picky, it's a trial trying to feed him.

I suggest feed your dog home-cooked. My shih tzu had the same problems, but when i started cooking for him, he would always eat it up! We also started to feed him raw food from a brand called instinct.

But they are not meant to like, digest and eat vegetables. My dog is raw fed doesn't like the veggies I eat. Some dogs eats whatever because they have no choice. Fortunately, my dog has choice

Ooo careful with the spaghetti and milk. Milk is yeasty and can cause skin problems and dogs aren’t supposed to eat pasta, I think it has something to do with the sugars in it

In about 6 months I’m getting a puppy. I want to feed raw but I am worried as I’ve heard a lot of people talk about parasites and bacteria and salmonella and E-coli. I would do a lot of research and make sure I have the right % of every different meat you need but I can’t help but worry something would go wrong. Could anybody with a lot of experience reassure me? I’m also thinking about getting either a cocker spaniel or golden retriever if that helps.

Dogs are carnivores they have a acidic stomach. Lol lions are carnivores too and you wouldn't think raw meat would make them sick because it's what they're designed to eat. Same as dogs. Humans and dogs aren't the same

@@bretrandolph7419 I know humans and dogs aren’t the same but even when watching loads of people on RU-vid I was unsure, I know they are designed to eat meat but I got a little bit unsure. Do you know any brands or websites that would deliver raw food already balanced as I have been researching and I’m unsure how to balance it myself. If I do get kibble I would add pumkin purée, salmon oil, blueberries, chicken feet, sardines, natural yoghurt and more. But ideally I want to feed raw.

@@elliemarshall1843 There's no reason to be unsure dogs are carnivores it's just hard for people to believe it because they're so used to them eating dog food.... Do you have a local pet store near you I feed my dog OC raw dog food & primal sometimes. You can go to Oc raw dog food's website and type in your zip code and see the nearest location that they serve their food there really good company with good ingredients. I feed my dog every other day I have a Siberian husky and I spend about $150 a month on food. When eating raw dogs don't have to eat everyday.

I used to feed my dog kibble. They won’t really go out there way to eat it unless they were starving. One dog got itchy skin irritation also. Watched a documentary on raw foods. So changed to raw food an so far so good. As soon as I put it down they wolf it! One dogs skins getting a lot better no aggressive itching. These massive kibble company’s are a scam an most dogs won’t like kibble but get made to eat it. Do your own research. Don’t assume nothing in today’s world. It’s all about profit.

Too many conflicting ideas about this, but I was told that mixing them in a meal is not good as they get digested at different rates. I'm not sure why this is particularly a bad thing, seeing as we all digest different foods at different rates, but I can understand that you affect the overall ratio of protein in the meal by adding raw meat to kibble. My vet was against raw food, and warned me of the dangers of bacteria and worms, as well as meals not being balanced properly by owners. Vets could also hold you to ransom regarding covering pre-paid pet plans for raw-fed dogs, forcing you to comply with feeding kibble diets.

@@musicalmarion Same vet's that want us to feed Hill's, Royal canin and other garbage full of corn they sell. My dog went for his year check up and my vet was amazed with his blood work, no worms and super skin and coat. You can feed kibble and one meal and raw in another if that worries some people.

4:48 about the "better" for your dental health. If you feed your dog raw bones it can help clean their teeth very efficiently, if you feed grinded up raw meat (small small chunks) then you may run into dental concerns. Which as I said can be easily fixed with a whole raw bone like a turkey neck or even commercial dental bones!

Um, it’s best not to feed raw and kibble together in one meal as most dogs get upset stomach from doing that..instead u can feed raw in morning and kibble at night

Raw vs Kibble... Stick to kibble unless you do extensive research on raw feeding. Without knowing how to provide the required nutrition kibble will always be better. In my opinion, dental can also be an advantage of raw feeding.

Kibble is 100% not better for dental tartar 🤦‍♀️ the only advantage to kibble vs raw is convenient and the fact it's more easily portable and stores better. My dogs eat raw, the raw bones clean their teeth beautifully. I rescued a 7 yr old.dogast year who was covered in tartar and the raw bones got ride of the majority of it.

It’s the cost and that the vets lie to them because they are sponsored by kibble brains, they get commissions when you buy food from them, that’s why the food they have on their shelves is the best food for your dog.
