How can he be considered a superstar if he was never a regular season mvp and never made a first team all nba? He’s not even in the top 20 career NbA 3 pt percentage and that’s what he’s known for. All star for sure but not a superstar. Slow your roll. Edit: To all the people crying because i dont think ray allen was a superstar. He was never a first team all nba, was a 2nd teamer once and a 3rd teamer once. How could someone be a superstar when all but 2 years he was never a top 15 player. LMAO!
People forget that young Ray Allen on the bucks was a REAL PROBLEM and not just 3’s. He’s still the most underrated shooting guard in my opinion. Top 3 shooter of all time ✊🏽
I remember when Ray Allen scored 51 pts in a playoff game vs the Bulls. The 2009 First Round Game 6 between the Celtics vs. Bulls that went triple OT was one of the best playoff games I've ever seen.
I had to leave for work during the third quarter. (I worked nights in a factory at the time) I had it playing in my headphones when that happened though. I’ll never forget that legendary call. “LeBron for 3, won’t go. Rebound Bosh! Back out to Allen, his 3 pointer! BANG!!!!” I still get chills thinking about it years later.
Ray Allen also signed with Jordan Brand as a rookie. One of the pioneers for the Jumpman Pro shoes. When Ray Allen was inducted in the HoF in 2018, Nike sent him a collection of Air Jordans.
When I was a kid in the early '00s, i had an NBA video game for N64--Kobe was on the cover, and my three teams were the Kobe Lakers, AI Sixers, and Ray Allen Bucks with Sam Cassell. Ray Allen was a beast. so underappreciated.
Dude could drive and dunk in his prime wasn't just a shooter. Ray was great .just didn't have the teamates around to win a title until 08. That last title tho cost him his friends in Boston . That's on them tho he did what's best for his family and his kid was sick and Miami has dryer temperature
What's amazing about Ray Allen was that he played in an era before analytics and part of his career (Milwaukee) was played with a bit of hand-checking in the NBA. If he played under today's NBA's rules during his time, he'd have a much easier time driving to the lane (people forget that Ray was good at driving to the basket especially during his Milwaukee days) and going through screens. He'd probably also opt for more corner 3s and 3s in general, less long-range 2s, and so his shooting averages and PPG average would increase for sure. I'm not saying today's game was the way to play. I'm only saying that Ray's scoring and shooting would be very comparable or even superior to today's best scorers.
Die hard Sonics fan here. I loved Ray Allen in Seattle. He was a beast. With no more Sonics I've transitioned to the Portland Trailblazers since Brandon Roy went there from UW and love watching Dame and CJ play now. I miss the Sonics for sure but am a very happy Trailblazers fan.
A true legend my guy Ray Allen this dude is very underappreciated and did some things in this league that will be cemented in stone and never forgotten an original pioneer of the deadly 3-point shot 👏🏽👏🏽🏆
@@chxbuka8682 not really...if Ray Allen never played basketball. Curry wouldn't even be here. He took inspiration to Miller and Allen. Curry said it himself
“If the big 3 didn’t have that 4th guy” goes to show how much of a team sport basketball is it could come down to the very last man or the 4th man or u better hop not Ray Allen
I remember watching a playoff game when he was on the Bucks and he hit THREE buzzer-beating 3s; one at the end of regulation to tie and send them to OT, another at the end of OT to tie and send it to double OT , then at the end of double OT to win the game. Such a good game.
I think steph curry has the all time most three point makes in a season, but before that is ray allen,Curry broke it year after year 2014,2016,(correct ne if im wrong, i forgot the year), but their is a stat record where curry has the most 3point makes, i think hes 1st,3rd,4th,...
That game 6 shot will forever be remembered in my life because it happened on my birthday which is June 18th. You can't imagine how hype I was when this happened
great video, but should have talked about his work ethic and how he became one of the most consistent shooters... dude trains his shooting like a madman
Ray ray will always be favorite of mine, best catch and shooter of all time. Nothing like playing 2k12-13 and just unloading corners 3's like they were foul shots.
Ray Allen *The GOAT of Shooters* Jesus Shuttlesworth, the Legend he has so many Iconic 3s but people forget he was a slasher, scorer and dunker (Bucking on Rims). *"The SHOT" in Miami in 2013 will always be the Greatest Shot Ever made*
Ray Allen could do more than shoot the 3. That's what made him so dangerous. Early on and in his prime he was a slasher. Totally underrated superstar. His days in Seattle were so under the radar.
