ZIM tears open a hole into the future of wearable tech with the Ray-Ban | Meta Wayfarer Smart Glasses. Twitter - / zimtok5 Discord - discord.Zimtok5... VR Reviews - reviews.Zimtok5... ZIM's Gear - gear.Zimtok5.com/ #AI #Glasses #Meta
I am considering getting these but would want to have prescription lenses with reactions. So was eagerly awaiting a quick first impressions from someone I trust. Thanks Zim :) Artful
You absolutely can; for double the money. I think these add enough utility to warrant a purchase at their non-prescription price. You might want to wait and see the AI develop into Q1 '24 for a decision if they're worth it for a prescription pair.
Listen to the latest VergeCast Podcast talking about the Ray Bans Meta. The issue for prescription lenses is that if the battery dies, you have to take them off you face to charge them in the case(therefore you will be blind until done charging unless you have second pair). These do not have a direct usb charging option unfortunately.
@@jamesm7498 Very good point! And battery life is said to be about 2h or thereabouts. From field testing, I'd say that feels about right. Thanks for the tip; that'll help a lot of people make a decision, James.
Maybe use glasses cam for your next unboxing? I will be even more impressed when they have decent display tech built in so you can see things like texts, videos, and a copy of your phone's screen/apps like weather, etc. while wearing them.
You can have sms and other social alerts read out during use (e.g. livestreams). Might be limited in terms of what platforms I can feed but I'll try my darnedest to trick em (via something like restream).
I'm a fan of rallying irl. So these would be cool to wear while watching the cars fly past. Usually i'll record a few passing but im more interested in just watching. But there's something slightly seedy about them. Like you're secretly recording people. Like you just know dudes are going to be wearing these at the beach etc. It's gonna get real weird
AI-assisted smart glasses. I didn't demo much in that respect here, but even the Go Pro style recordings are fab. Honestly, listening to music on them and even just for calls; such a charmer. The ear slicing... Not a charming feature.

Hi, the only question I have is, how much is the battery life? and can you listen to songs over bluetooth? like for example Apple Music/ RU-vid music? like a normal bluetooth device? thank you so much in advance!
Yes! It's about 2 hours before needing to charge in the case. Case itself has 30+ hours in charges. I've found it excellent for music. That's what I'd call my primary application for it, actually.
No clue! Anything reliant on data processing is usually region- or county-dependent. One thing I can say is the accent/dialects they can handle will be limited.
Get a new phone - like a Google Pixel 8 Pro. I replaced my One Plus McLaren and got five times the internet speed and my Ray-Ban Meta glasses work great. I'm using T-Mobile.
One of their models has polarized lenses, just not the one I got. The transitions lenses ones seem the best as I found myself using them for music a lot!
Cancer warning from the start? You just killed my prospect of buying it 😂. I was soooo close to buying the large model with prescription lens. I’m out.
Well, that's a fair concern with most gadgets these days. California has quite an overzealous labelling and most things end up with a sticker. I wouldn't be surprised if a banana has that label in Cali, tbh.
