The first Earth mission to Mars discovers a small American town, which is curiously inhabited by their deceased relatives. Part 2: • Ray Bradbury Theater -...
I remember reading this part of "The Martian Chronicles" late at night. I was about 10 when i read it. Scared the hell out of me at the end of this story. :P
this story is from the book'The Martian Chronicles'. i remember the teacher reading out loud some of the book to my class in elementray school. The Martians trick them, i guess using some kind of mind control.
read the book this is my favourite one. The Martians are trying to fool the astronauts into thinking that they are in heaven. In the third expedition there is reference to Beautiful dreamer and also an old Scottish Singer called Harry Launder singing 'Roaming in the Glomin'.
Yes, I have them all on cassette too =P. They were recently just re-released in high quality mp3 on the Twilight Zone radio website. I wish they still made radio programs like that.
@ThoughtTraveler Thanks for this bit of trivia. I actually always thought the piano song in this episode sounded really similar to Beautiful Dreamer, I didn't know until now that it's a song that already existed.
Hi, sorry for the inconvenience I would like to find out if this movie is subtitled in Castilian or Spanish, and if you do not mind where I could get from already thank you very much.
They land a space shuttle on Mars? The space shuttle could not even get out of low Earth orbit. Oh well, maybe I am getting fixated on minor details. Yes, that's it. I need to just sit back and enjoy the show.
You would think that the Mars Mission landing team here would have some sort of common sense and intelligence. I do not profess to be the smartest man on the planet by any means. But if I was on a Martian Landing Team and dear old Grandma that died 13 years ago came up to me and tried to hug me I would think first off - HEY Martian Deception here!!!!! HELLO??? How weak minded is it to go off and get duped by these Martians because they disguised themselves as your long dead family members.
"People ask...where do I get my ideas from? Well, I steal most of them." I notice he doesn't talk about how he joined the Church of Scientology in the late 60s, either. Talked to Larry Niven about this in the 90s, basically asking "How could such a smart man fall for such an obvious con" and he just shook his head sadly....:)
