Thank you, valuable and interesting lecture for me. Contrabass is very beautiful tone. I love this instrument sound. God bless you and have a good time.
“Half position” in the Simandl method is 1st finger and Ab on the G string. “1st position” would be first finger on A natural (4th finger on B natural)
I’d like to ask Ray or John if you bass was shipped and when received everything was fine except the company that built my bass said the sound post had to be lightly glued during shipping I’m afraid that might effect the sound and I don’t know how to relieve the glue from sound post , my question is shall I seek out someone professional to help with This ? And also will it effect sound ? Please help.
