DescriçãoRay Charles Invites You to Listen (sometimes referred to as Invites You to Listen or Listen) is a studio album by American recording artist Ray Charles, released in June 1967. Made up of several standards, the album had Charles experiment with falsetto. The album received mixed response from music critics, some noting that the style of music was "old fashioned".

My dad used to sing this song on his 80th birthday for my mom, 9 years ago. I played the piano on the stage at that time in front of many friends of my dad and mom. My dad passed away last month at 89, and listening to this song brought my memory back to that evening, 9 years ago. I miss him so much...I'll be looking at the moon...but I'll be seeing you, dad...

I bought this album in 1968. I didn’t know this song when I purchased it. My dad died in 1967, right after I turned 16 and for the first time I paid attention to the words‼️ After that I would listen to it every day. I know my mom played it when I wasn’t around. We pretended we were strong when our hearts were breaking💔

He put so much feeling in this sad tune, esp. at the falsetto part, that it's enough to make one cry...

When I lost my dad, I was 16, I played this over and over…I’m 70, and it still brings back so many memories of him. The kindest, gentle dad, never in my 16 years did he ever raise his voice at me💙

you had a dad in the top 1 percent of all dads on this planet you so lucky and his memory should be cherished like it deserves, never raise the voice on you, that's not in the cards , but you had that

@@cristianmicu Thank you for your kind words‼️ He was so respected in our town, at that time, his funeral was attended by the largest amount of caring people the funeral director had ever seen before. He was a pharmacist, soft spoken, with a dry sense of humor‼️ I am still thankful everyday when I think of him‼️❤️

This was our H.S. graduation song. When my teacher suggested it, I jumped to say GREAT, I LIKE THAT. Now at 64, I discovered many thing stories and comment about this song. Lost my parents and a bother and a sister and this song relieves my sadness knowing I will be seeing them someday. Shalom from Manila, Philippines!

Band Box Jazz Joint Denver..Ray Charles two glorious evenings..pack house..Two nights of Mr.Charles man what a kick..even more so while on break he was so attending as we spoke..yeah just a few minutes but what a few minutes! Years later nightclub in Santa Fe,New Mexico the joint was jumping packed to the racks of an old plane factory...ah this time no chats, his handler took care of such..Yes Ray was in the twilight of his years...But not his voice nor his demeanor for the audience..I yet harbor many of his music.."I'll be seeing you Mr.Charles....

I'll be seeing you In all the old familiar places That this heart of mine embraces All day through In that small cafe The park across the way The children's carousel The chestnut tree The wishing well I'll be seeing you In every lovely summer's day In everything that's light and gay I'll always think of you that way I'll find you in the morning sun And when the night is new I'll be looking at the moon But I'll be seeing you I'll be seeing you In all the old familiar places That this heart of mine embraces All day through In that small cafe The park across the way The children's carousel The chestnut tree The wishing well I'll be seeing you In every lovely summer's day In everything that's light and gay I'll always think of you that way I'll find you in the morning sun And when the night is new I'll be looking at the moon But I'll be seeing you

Jimmy Durante: Billie Holiday': Bernadette Peters yes! But, Ray Charles attempt was a miss. Now, go back to the sixth movement of Gustav Mahler's third symphony, (at 1:20) then on to Fain and Kahal; then on to Vera Lynn singing it (even if she fucked up the lyric) to nourish the morale of the allied troops embarking on the quest to liberate Europe from the Nazi evil; then move on to Billie Holiday's recording that was broadcast to the universe by NASA to admit and acknowledge the death of the personified Mars Rover---and you will know what I'm talking about. After you do all of that, tune in to that Viennese composer Gustav Mahler's third symphony, the sixth movement; and , at at 1:20 you will discover and hear those magical five notes that inspired Fain and Kahal to put words to the music" "I'll Be Seeing You," Everything is derivative.

@@murph3001 ....Because it was, as the note says, his 'experiment in falsetto' and to do so was really not much more than that; nothing was very much achieved by his doing so. Kind of embarrassing, actually, however dear he is to me. If you want to hear how someone can move from a tenor voice into a falsetto, sliding through in a beautiful natural curve, I would suggest you listen to Johnny Mathis on you-tube performing this song. Breathtaking.
