The first thing a WARRIOR should learn is to never quit, if you relax you will lose. These two guys are true warriors. Its a shame Kim died but he knew the risks to be a warrior that much is highly evident, he exuded the spirit of the warrior til the end.
Hey, Xenon676, please don't put "the left" all in one category. I am a progressive and I grew up on boxing. I remember watching this fight live with my dad.
@cmerc25 I heard about the weight loss. I also heard that Kim had a fight only weeks before Mancini. That is a recipe for disaster. What still makes me sick about this is not just that Kim died in a fight that never should have been made to begin with (Kim had not fought a world-class lightweight to that point and in no way should have been ranked No. 1 by the WBA), but the knee-jerk reaction in the aftermath that led to the reduction of the championship distance to 12 rounds.
While the left may call this a brutal exhibition, war is just that when fought by WARRIORS. Make no mistake with the clownmanship that boxing has turned into nowadays, boxing is a war, this isnt the play scripted antics of the WWE. These guys fight to WIN.
This killed Mancini's soul. This very fight. He was never the same after this. Duk Koo Kim could've been one of the GOATS. It's a tragedy what happened. Shouldn't have happened, but it did. BRING BOXING BACK DAMMIT!
