Listeners will likely know Ray Porter as the voice of the Terminal List series.
An acclaimed actor and narrator, Ray has provided the voice for hundreds of audiobooks, including entire The Terminal List series and its latest installment In the Blood.
Ray has a decades-long career as an actor, spending nearly 20 years in Shakespearean productions, and has appeared in TV shows and movies including Modern Family, Sons of Anarchy, Argo, ER, Almost Famous and recently in Zack Snyder's Justice League, starring as the villain Darkseid.

Ray porter is fantastic. I have about 400 audio books and the narrator can make or break a boon. His command on accents is phenomenal and his ability to make you fell as if you are running and fighting with James Reece that is you are breathless.

I want to thank Jack & Ray for adding value to my life. I'm a OTR truck driver who drives at night. I appreciate all of Jacks works (books & podcast) who keep we awake, alert, and entertained on the road.

Absolutely agree. My work keeps me in my pickup truck the bulk of most days. Jack's series has been an outstanding way to spend a lot of windshield time.

Being visually handicapped, I read very little. Being able to listen to audible books is very valuable to me. I look forward so much to each of your books and listen to each one many times and recommend them to others. I appreciate how Ray brings James Reece to life as well as all of the characters in each of toy books. Thank you both for being artists of your crafts.

Ray Porter, THE best narrator in the business!!! From this series to the Joe Ledger series (IMO the best range of character voices) and so many, many more, he brings stories to life. I’ve actually picked up audiobooks not knowing the author just because Mr. Porter was doing the narration... and have never been disappointed. Thank you for a great series, Mr. Carr, and thank you Ray Porter for sharing your outstanding talent and painting vivid images of stories in my mind.

I became a huge fan of Ray Porter after listening to all of the James Reece novels. Now I have searched out other novels he has narrated/performed. Thank you Jack Carr for introducing me to the enormous talent that is Ray Porter. I just finished “Project Hail Mary” and Ray made it terrific. Not something I would have EVER chosen but did because Ray narrated. 😊 I finished “In The Blood” in just over 24 hours, another 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ phenomenal journey!! SO glad to see this interview, I have been curious about his process and how he approached these novels. Thank you!!

@@YahushasDisciple Was literally about to post the same thing as C Rey. It was the Joe Ledger series that initially hooked me on Porter. I will say though that sadly the author delves into Trump hatred and Right Wing hatred for absolutely no reason (and which is completely out of character for Joe and his team) late in the series, which completely ruined them for me. But the first 6 books or so are truly fantastic.

Other 2 narrators? Love to read on my own, but audio books are great alternative. I tend to gravitate toward specific narrators if not the works of specific authors. I'd love to add some new voices to my list.

Ray Porter is straight up THE best narrarator on audible. The way he throws out different accents and tones to bring the characters to life is the icing on the cake to a series that already cimpketely ropes you in.

Mr. Porter, thank you for narrating two of my most favorite audio books, Obviously Mr. Carr's Terminal List series and the Bobiverse series by Dennis Taylor. Thank you Mr. Carr for the written word. I am anxious to watch the screen adaptations of the Terminal List. Mr. Porter is the only narrator I have searched for when choosing an audible book title.

My grandfather was in The battle of Midway served 29 years in the Navy I remember his stories as a kid Big fan of porter Amazing all your books Loved Savage Son nice 👍🏼 Nobody but Porter could do the Audible for you amazing books Jack great energy Waiting. Finished 'In The Blood' yesterday. If you pick it up, be sure to read it from cover to cover! Great work by Mr. Porter as usual and Jack Carr knocks it out of the park. Phenomenal production all around.

Excellent! Bought the audio book for In The Blood. His voice for Alice creeps me out. Now I know why I don’t have Alexa or a rumba in my house . It justifies my paranoia about my electronic devices and The Twilight Zone doesn’t help either. Wasn’t expecting the cliffhanger.

The first book I heard Ray narrate was Andy Wier’s, what I believe to be latest novel, Hail Mary. The humor and the wit, and the sarcasm that he put forth forthe central character is so engaging. I loved it because the book was so good and I love science fiction and so much of it is trash and here we have Ray knocking it out of the park. Then in listening to Savage Son it took a while not to hear Ryland from “Hail Mary“ but to hear the new characters in “Savage Son”. I commend him as an incredible narrator.
