Yeess. OMG when she sings “I’m already acting’ like a 🍆y’know what I mean? So you might as well stick it in”.. with her accent she sounded so freaking good. I had that part on repeat 😅
@@dai5y I know but she doesn’t sound like she’s British if you know what I’m trying to say? I think you can distinguish between the pronunciation of words. I really don’t think she has an accent.
@@iamURHO I was more or less referring to her other songs, that are probably getting streams now too, due to Escapism I rarely ‘manifest’ song lyrics into my life, tbh I don’t even know what you mean by that, so no need to worry, if it’s written based on the songwriter’s experience, it’s not based on mine and I don’t need to copy them in order to connect with the music
Love that this is a 100% British sound. It’s so refreshing to hear. I love american music and their artistry but the UK really have lost their way in preserving their unique sound.
I just wanted to say that I can hear the British accent here. Typically British artists always try to sing in an American accent cause it sounds better but I believe the way you control your accent to sound is key. Anyways I really like her voice
The accent just drops for everyone not just British artists. I think it's to do with the breath or something. I've heard vocal coaches talking about why it happens.
@ColdBrew then why do other genres of music retain their accent. Afrobeats, Carribea music, It sounds more of a stylistic choice. Most ppl sing with an American Accent.
@@aleetimes3 Right. Most other genres you can still hear their accent. But a lot of UK artist lose theirs. Like Ella Mai or however you say her name, I would’ve never known that she had an English accent just listening to the singing portion of her songs.
I like to think it’s “done decision” like it’s final and they won’t go over again and she can’t convince him/fix the problem. “Dumb decision” just makes it less heart breaking considering all she goes through afterwards
I actually read that it is “done decision” and the guy is saying that his decision is final. It kinda makes sense because in the lyrics Raye doesn’t reply back or try to convince him otherwise? She’s there and doesn’t want to feel the pain of the abrupt breakup so she drowns her sorrow in her drinks to keep herself in denial.
Ppl on tiktok use this song to show off their fashion and makeup and shit, but I wish ppl would pay attention to really dark meaning of the song. It's worth hearing.
I used to hear it as "done decision" as well every time I heard the audio, meaning he had made that decision and was not going to change his mind. But after seeing the official video of the song, I realised it was "dumb decision". She mouthed "dumb" in her music video. You can see her lips closing together for the "b". But I personally prefer "done decision" like how I had originally thought it was. That's how I sing every time I hear this song
@Pvt Lyf yeah I'd also assumed that and like done better, but noticed that in all the lyrics online it says dumb. I've spent a lot of time thinking about that lol so seeing your comment was nice
It's actually "dumb decision" you can see in her official video.theres also an interview thing I saw,one of those ones where they recite the lyrics and explain them, and Raye says "dumb decision",as in he'll regret it because now she's gonna go out looking damn good in her little black dress.
@@iamURHO Disect it for me, please. I'm living a very sheltered life, strict parents. So,I clearly don't have a clue as to what I'm opening myself up for by listening to the song.
Since the moment I heard Raye I've always connected her to Amy Winehouse and no disrespect but I believe she's doing what Amy would have done had she still be here today. She's definitely on another level 💕
I remember listening to many of her songs back in 2016 and loving how vibey they were and how unique her voice was. It’s so nice to see her getting the recognition she deserves and sounding even better with time! 🤩👏🏼
Only like one in five get the lyrics right, tho. The correct lyrics are ”It’s over, DONE desicion” It’s NOT ”It’s over, dumb desicion” - wich doesn’t even make any sense if you think about it. Someone leaving you wouldn’t call their desicion dumb. But a done desicion is a final desicion. Then you know it is really over.
@@ktnmtsd6896 who wrote it on genius heard it wrong then. Not their first (or last) mistake. ”It’s over, done desicion” is a complete sentence meaning ”it’s over and you cannot change my mind”.
@@Sodapopra86 no it's not watch her mouth in the official video, she says dumb. And there's also an interview I saw (one of the ones where the artist recites the lyrics and explains them) she says dumb decision
