I like how after all of the blood it took to get this far you are rewarded with a candyland level with circus music. It’s almost like the game is calling you a clown for wasting so much time.
What the game prepared you for: 2 + 2 = 4. What the final level is like: Jim has eight apples, Lisa has two oranges, calculate the circumference of the Sun.
I've just played this through to the end on a PS1 I recently acquired. Your guides have been invaluable in finding those tricky cages. I never want to play this again though, you must have a bit of masochist in you. Getting some of the frame-perfect hoop grabs nearly killed me! If you do play through again your Mr Saxquito bit here was mad. You took a super high risk option running underneath each time. If you stand right next to him when he jumps he'll only move a little. Then you just run a little away from him and you're in the clear. Far less stressful! I did think the last two levels were very easy compared to a lot from before. Mr Skop was a joke and other than the reverse controls throwing me the last level and bosses weren't bad at all and I did think the ending was disappointing. Thanks again!
I'm glad my videos were helpful :) I've played this game many times, so I'm quite used to it's rather precise level layouts and such, but I know I had a lot more trouble with it when I had just started playing the game! Regarding the boss, thanks, I didn't actually know that :P I've always just tried to run under him, assuming that was the only way. And yeah, Mr Skops is one of the easier bosses for sure, especially compared to Space Mama and such. The problem with a boss like Space Mama is also that it's after a rather long level, unlike Skops which has a very short level before the fight, making retrying it a lot less painful. As much as I love the game I think it suffers from several bad design choices like this.
I swear Mr dark’s music played throughout the whole level (especially in the beginning). To be fair, it’s been years since I’ve played the game to the end
If you played on PC, there's another version of the game called Rayman Designer which also came bundled with Rayman Gold. Each world has 4 Levels made with the tool and in the second level of each world the area's boss theme, in this case Mr. Dark's theme plays throughout the level. Could be what you're thinking of.
