What really makes him a legend is that he throws with his off hand. He's naturally a southpaw (i.e. left-handed) but he throws with his right hand!

Why

King Kat Cause I heard someone say he was prepared to fart to throw his opponent of his game if need be (of course he didn't interfere with this 9-darter and it was more of an expression of his antics on stage by the person who said that). He was a good sport about it, back then they were still kinda rare so even an opponent could enjoy that. But Manley is sort of known for getting under his opponent's skin, especially at that time. his wikipage describes it as such: "Manley's controversial personality rather than the quality of his darts was often the most notable part of his career..." Remember that I think I meant to emphasize that it was Barney's first 9-darter. It's easier to do it against someone like a young Michael v. Gerwen or Jelle Klaasen (a nice and quick thrower who likes to keep the pace and rythm up, but not yet at your level of play to keep the pressure of losing down, allthough pressure does seem to make Barney better).

@Manga 824131: Most darter (fan)s can do their arithmetics, thank you! Obviously you'd have to throw 2 times 180, and you'd like to finish on as high a double as possible. Given that, this would be the most obvious combination to finish a possible 9 leg. Regardless, agree with you that Raymond (and Taylor and van Gerwen) are great. Don't know anyone who whould finish that many legs with 9 darts in such short timespan.

@@agerven yeah my point is on 5 different occasions he finished it the same way there are other routes that he could have done not allot but yeah I thought it was just cool

I am still waiting for that darter that's training exclusively to throw Trip 20, Trip 19, Bullseye for a 167 score. 3x 167 = 501. Now that would be a super badass 9 darter ;)
