@Zon lots of people say elite is better because they say elite has aliminum but v2 has plastic that is true but i dont think v2’s plastic not horrible because it is the razer i mean i dont think v2 can take a lot of damage also in v2 RGB is better there is a tester macro keys
Am I the only on that thinks the rgb lighting looks cleaner on the Elite? I'd I've an in between. The passthrough needs to be on the right since most people are right handed. Cable management is awesome. And the dials are nice
I just bought the Elite on sale assuming it had the same type of "floating" RGB lighting. It got here today and I was slightly disappointed at first, but I think the quality and features make up for it.
Jekkoy_07 from when I checked out the 2019 version, it’s not that good. It has the same walls for switches but loses the multimedia keys and USB port but has same metal plate
2:03 the white background under the switches on the Blackwidow Chroma V2 is a Hard Alminium, i opened a Blackwidow Ultimate, i surprised when i released the green backplate is actually a metal
I got a Blackwidow Elite, and very recently picked up another second hand for cheap for use in the office. Yes I know that there are other newer and better keyboards around, but this one suits me. I find it comfortable, the RGB isn't overkill and the wrist rest is comfortable, although the leatherette does peel over time - I fixed that by getting a couple of scrap pieces of leather from ebay and recovering them.
Thanks for the review, very informative and helped me decide on getting the elite. By the way I noticed the elite’s keycaps seem smaller and more compact as compared to the chroma v2. Not sure if it will affect our typing.
I buy it, it is cool but the price is a bit too higher! Good lightning effect, cool marco possibilities and the cable management is very serviceable! The construction is cool overall but there is some little defaults... So, this keyboard is cool but a bit expensive for what is it😎
I prefer tournament edition variant because I don't use the numpad really often, so i use right now the TE V2 with yellow switch and i'm really surprise because people tend to say that razer is shit, but as of 2018 they are pretty much on pair with corsair with their KB in my opinion (i have use corsair board too).
they are good quality, when they work, Razer just has a problem with the quality control, there's a high rate of failure, it's been a mixed bag for me with razer. I have had a keyboard that lasts 5 years now and still fine, but also a gamepad I RMA'ed twice in a few months and still broke, I just gave up trying. Just 2 for examples. So when u get a good one from Razer, it IS GOOD. Especially the Chroma part, it has so much more depth than the other brands' RGB, u can truly customize it exactly to what u want, with an easy interface.
Just got the Elite 3 days ago, gave my bro the v2. Elite is absolutely better. Better build, better stabilizer, better utility. For Macro i use non-numlock state of key 1 to 9 as my 9 macro keys ;))) For Lighting i dont care that much, but the v2 still better.
Why are you standing up while typing for the Chroma V2 and then sitting while typing for the Elite? Seems like it'll change the purpose of sound testing because of the speed difference
the thing you forget is that all the mech keyboards have a metal plate inside where tthe switches sit on... The metal top plat is cheaper to make since they dont need to add another plastic casing... The more you know ;)
At 11:09 ya dun goofed again. You said the passthroughs are on the left hand side, but it's on the right. What is it with you in the recaps messing information up lol? Loved the video man. Keep it up!
god damn, I really love how Blackwidow Elite looks like but I prefer Razer’s old Green switches sound... Too bad I already ordered Blackwidow Elite. Huntsman Elite was too high for me and the armrest was uncomfortable. Good video and keep it up broski
Thank you very much for this video! I couldn't decide which of the keyboards I want to purchase ... before, I was pretty sure I'll go with the Chroma v2, mostly because of the macro keys - but afterwards, I decided to buy the Elite, although the lighting effects on the Chroma v2 look better. Hopefully, in a few days I'll have it Anyways ... could you do a video about the different Razor Switches and your opinion about them?
Hi! In a video comparison between the huntsman elite and the blacwidow elite you talked about the new dual side walls green switches and the old green switches having a different feel but you didn't talk about it here. Which ones are more comfortable in your opinion?
I wish I had a friend like you , you seem so nice and happy all the time I watch your videos whenever I’m sad because your cheerfulness really lightens my mood 😊
The BW Chroma V2 is still compatible with Synapse 2, which Razer continues to support. I've found it to be more stable and use less resources than Synapse 3.
Excellently done! One thing I should have noted is the SIZE of the rubber feet on the bottom. My black widow Chroma rubber feet kept falling off. It's nice to see that the Elite has HUGE rubber feet! Should mean they stick on much better. One thing you might want to mention in the future is also how easy either are to clean. As some one with many cats - being easy to clean is a huge selling point. In my mind that Elite looks like it's easier to clean. Your thoughts?
Yeah the rubber feet on the Elite are much better :D And I'll be sure to mention the cleaning the keyboards in future videos, thanks :) The Elite is also easier to clean :)
Enjoyed the video so I dropped a sub! Im an RGB lover and enjoy having macro keys but after hearing the Elite has better built quality gives me second thoughts 🤔
So basically razer just needs to create a keyboard with the body, cable management channel and multimedia keys from the elite, and then the rgb and macro buttons from the chroma v2 and then you'd have a perfect keyboard rather than a difficult decision
Not a single one of my Razer videos have been sponsored. I've bought all of the products out of my own money. When it comes to work, I do RU-vid full-time :D
Some people prefer the simple lighting of the elite tho. It looks much more clean to me and I would never want that huge lighting through the backplate. And the metal backplate is just..it just seals the deal for me ;P Also...the elite has dedicated media keys!!! :D Ah well, if you dont care about them like me, then its not really a deal breaker at all, but for some people it might be^^
I just love media keys but that lighting in elite looks do dark they dont look same brand. Chroma v2 lights are so bright. Imo i like bigger and longer keyboard more. Its more nice when it is heavy and keeps in place and not too small
honestly I think the chroma having “better” rgb is the way it is being filmed and also having just the letters illuminated kind of looks cleaner but that’s just my opinion
Am I the only one who actually LIKES each key lit up individually instead of the backdrop also? Also that fingerprint resistant metal body is dope. Add the fact that I bought the elite for about 60 bucks, and it’s a steal.
Why on Earth didn't they put a reflective backplate on the Elite like the one on the V2?! Does anyone know if there is backplate mod for the Elite anywhere?
So... being a 3 year user of the BlackWidow Ultimate 2016, I highly prefer the BlackWidow elite, not only because of the nice media dial and the play/pause keys, but mainly because it has the very thoughtful cable management under the keyboard, and so far the biggest pro yet is that the keycaps are FLOATING! it makes the keyboard 100 times easier to clean! with my old blackwidow with the keys sunk into the board, sure the white backround is nice for the RGB but the convenience of cleaning the keyboard was really bad! My new BlackWidow Elite is far more superior in my personal opinion.
@@TechBlock why man i cant decide too and idc about multimedia buttons also v2 made from plastic but is v2 resistant ? if it is idc metal or plastic too
