i fucking hate them fam i got them for like 2 years and ugh it keeps like stopping the sound and doing some weird ass noise everytime i move a LITTLE bit, also the earcups thingies, come already off...
@@Sunny-ys3tw I have same problem now I have them for 2 years by now and everytime I move the cable the sound stop working and does some weird noise I have to reconnect them in order to work again.. I'm confused what to buy now.
@@HannahWade199 I've bought the g pro and i can recommend them, maybe the bass isnt as strong and it hasnt got 7.1, but the cable is removable and the mic is realllyyy good, and they aren't expensive. Or if you want good music quality and not just gaming headphones, buy the beyerdynamic dt 770 pro or dt 990 pro, I'd recommend you dt 990 pro though.
I own this headset, it's genuinely something special, they are extremely comfortable, that sound amazing, the 7.1 is done perfectly and the mic can pick up things in the other room if you turn the sensitivity up, people often tell me they can hear my wife and my cat in the background! Nice video dude
am i the only one who actually loves the cable not having any funky audio control or mic volume scrollwheels? the volume controls on the cable have always annoyed me, this is why the razer headsets are so good for me (at least the kraken ones)
well.. on this kraken pro V2 series.. the analog version has the volume control on the cable.. and its what can i say.. its a so-so quality built on that switch...
HOLY SHIT that mic on the Razer kraken is so good I skipped ahead in the video and did not noticed you changed the mic until I listen closely damn I'm buy that mic
no it's not, i have one too, the snowball is a mic where you need to be like max 10 cm away from it to have studio quality. If you're let's say 60 cm away from the mic the quality drops a lot.
I've been using this headset for about a week since my shoddy $100. Roccat khan pro broke on both sides of the head band. For being the same price, I find the Kraken to be MUCH more comfortable, sturdy, and best of all, the sound/mic is a huge improvement. My gaming buddies were all blown away when I first logged in with the kraken as they said the mic was a massive improvement over my previous sets.
A small note about this headset. I, and from my research, many others as well, have experienced a seemingly common problem where the cable starts to die after about a year and the headphones will make a popping noise before disconnecting and reconnecting. Sometimes, when it reconnects, the audio is noticeably worse or simply isn't there. Same goes for the mic, with an audible hissing sound being present when you speak unless you unplug the headphones and plug them back in again. It's extremely frustrating as it can interrupt calls and even mess with game audio, even going so far as to mute it entirely with the only solution being restarting the game. I can't reccommend this headset with such a glaring and reccurent issue and I feel like others need to know.
same issue its basically dead. Every five minutes i have to disconnect & reconnect i suggest buying a wirless headset honestly the headset been with me for about 2 years now
I have owned no less than 3 pairs of krakens over the years and this is still an issue. I'm sick of replacing them, I'll buy something else. I just wish I could find a wireless set that sounds like the kraken does.
i already bought v1 and v2... what i think is.. V1: good surround, pretty good mic but sometimes "robot voice" V2: comfortable, good surround, good mic
Ik I'm kinda late but I have the v1 and i have an issue were they disconnect and reconnect in about 5 seconds have you ever experienced this or do u know how to solve the issue
I'm shocked that you only have 40k subs. Just bought this headset and this was, by far, the best video I came across reviewing this headset. Which is even more impressive that it's one of the most prominent ones on the market. Keep up the good work man.
I've seen A LOT of these gaming headset reviews and the only ones that actually had a decent mic is the Razer ones... Which if funny because I've always hated razer... They sound as good or even better than the modmics...
I've heard they were good for gaming but not so much for general music listening etc. I went for the Beyerdynamic dt 880 Pro with a studio mic. An overkill setup for most but I only game in my studio so..
I have been using these headphones for 4 years and the only problem that I have experienced I that the mic cuts off sometimes. Everything else works just fine and I am kinda sad that they stopped them from production.
Okay this video is really old and idk if anyone is still watching this but what?? At the moment this dude has 26k subs. Why? I’ve seen people with 200k that don’t have content at this quality. The video is great and the whole set up is amazing. I hope this guy blows up
If you'e in the market for a headset, get these. I bought these for the first time a year ago and I am yet to find a better headset. I've been through the cloud II's, sennheiser g4me zero's, and arctis 7's all in the past WEEK. These are amazing in every category. Listening to music with these is great, you can hear footsteps perfectly fine, the mic is better than the game zeros, and the ear cups are softer than any other headset. The game zeros feel like they're about to fall off your head and the padding isnt even as good as these, also game ones suck for everything other than footsteps. If you're looking for a great headset for every category, you've found the right video.
Do you still have the headsets? How are they? I'm looking into getting a full razer setup with the Blackwidow Elite keyboard, Basilisk mouse & these headsets but currently torn between getting the razer, HyperX (Alloy Elite RGB Keyboard, Pulsefire Surge mouse, Cloud 2 headset) and Steelseries (Apex M750 keyboard, Rival 600 mouse, & Arctis 5 headset) I hope you reply soon! Thanks man!
I've been using my v2s for while now and man they are awesome. the price point is great I bought mine for $80.00 USD (NON CHROMA) Sound is crystal I play a lot of Rainbow Six Siege and I can definitely hear people crouch walking around me or reading equipment through walls. it's a game changer. my only gripe is that since I play on ps4 there's no way to change the equalizer because these are a little bass heavy. They are comfortable lightweight and big! my friends say the mic sounds crystal clear as well. which when watching my captures I can hear myself and it's solid. I really don't know what could be improved other than the cable. it's not a bad cable just has a tendency to twist after awhile. so I'm constantly unplugging straitening and plugging back in. which I deal with just a minor annoyance.
did you get them how is the audio for movies and music i have the cloud II but my mic makes very loud buzzing noise for my friends that i cant hear now and then sometimes a lot over it spent 130AUD on them lasted 4 months
Instant sub! This was a damn good review for a headset, you covered it all up without trying to be funny or anoying. I'll definitely check out your channel.
I had the v2 for a year, bought the cloud 2 and a blue yeti to make up for the mic on the cloud being awful. Might return both and just get another kraken tbh
I've been using this headset for a few months now and I LOVE it. For the price, I simply do not think you will find another set that is even remotely close in sound, build or even mic quality.
oh finally after a full day of weeding out headsets, a decent video. I had a kraken in my hand at the computer store, but dad said the microphone specs were not worth the money from what we saw on the box. Thank you for the mic test. It seems decent to me despite the terrible looking specs, and i love that you can bend it to where your mouth hole actually is on your face.
Thank you SO much for mentioning comfort with glasses - that's always a huge concern for me. Bought Astro a40's once and they were the most uncomfortable headphones/headset that I've ever put on my head, because of my glasses. Couldn't even wear them for more than 40 minutes without getting terrible migraines.
ooomg first positive soundexperience in the beginning of this video - of all the effin' reviews ive watched within the last hours to find a headset. great vid, thanks.
Thanks for sharing dude. I'm ordering mine today. Found a very good deal. Can't wait for it to come. Will be perfect when my 1060gpu arrives as well. Hi from Greece.
Just ordered mine a few days ago. Came in, mic sounds like I'm talking through a cup, sound quality in game or while watching video everything sounds super muffled and flat. Gonna have to say, I'm keeping my V1's and giving my V2's to my girlfriend.
Is someone please able to help me out? I use these at the moment on the PS4 because I am currently building a desktop! But it sounds bad on the PS4 and there is a slight hissing noise while I am using it on the PS4... My question is, does these sound better on Desktop? Just because these sound horrible on PS4..
Something not mentioned is that the reason the headsets feel good on your head with glasses is because they actually cut grooves into the cups for glasses, you can barely see them in the video as little ripples in the pleather.
XDJOoNyXD Razer has improved a lot with this headset.Run away from the "hyperx always idiots" and watch some good reviews on google. You can also watch another brands like corsair void or stelseries arctis
xXx_TheProGunner_xXx Thanks for your advice. I tried to find a comparation between this two headsets, but I always came acroos v1 vs cloud 2 comparations, that's why I asked it here.
xXx_TheProGunner_xXx Lmao. Build quality? Also the aesthetics. It looks wayyyy too bulky. Razer is just superior in the mic and bass. Meanwhile, the cloud has a balanced audiophile, decent mic, solid build qual and just overall looks great. There is also a problem that when the wire of the kraken will rub your shirt, it will have some weird crackly sounds to the headset, which would be quite annoying. Although everything comes down into preference, Cloud in really the superior.
i bought the hyperx cloud 2s like 4 months ago and im fucking dissapointed. First thing is that the 7.1 virtual sound is horseshit and the stereo sound isnt what i expected because every one said its``AS GOOD AS AUDIOPHILE HEADPHONES HAVE``. it was good but not really good. Also the mic is soooo quiet my friends cant even hear me literally everyone complains about the mic being soo quiet and it is. Over all i wouldnt reccomend them 6/10.
Hi, I really appreciated this video. Amazing job on the review, you covered every single aspect I came here for. Great background visuals too. Overall a fantastic review! I honestly feel like you deserve way more subscribers! You did earn yourself one right now ;). Keep on going
they work when plugged into the console directly because the 7.1 v2 has only an usb cable to connect with. sadly there will be no surround sound, only stereo.
@@shinferrefnihs8187 ummm is it bad having no surround sound or does it not matter txt me asap cause ima buy a headset and I'm wondering is it worth it
I may not agree with everything you said in this video but my man your video editing and film is awesome i will definetly sub and hope many more come to you sir.
Thank you for this review. I have been looking around for a new headset and saw that this headset was on sale for $75 and it seems like an amazing headset. :)
My mother got me a pair, i didn't regret it one bit, this headset is AMAZING! 9.5/10, only because no volume up and down on the wire, overall, DEFINIATLY WORTH BUYING!
You can also go with the 7.1 v2 with the jack, you can use for gaming and you can also plug into ur phone for some casual uses (sorry iphoneX :). Another good feature is the buttons at the middle of the cable for controlling volume+play/pause option. The last thing is it's around $15-$20cheaper (up to your country) than the USB one. I do recommend buying the jack one for those who watching this video. Nice video bro, you deserve a million subs ;)
Actually not really. i had both of them.. the one with usb actually is way better than the one with the jack. you need to test both to see the difference. plus the one with the usb is for gaming mainly.
the braided cable rubbing against your clothing is VERY loud to hear inside the left earcup on V1!!!! STOP USING BRAIDED CABLES RAZER! (how did they missed this during testing? do they use naked chinese people?)
I havent tryed the v1's so can't compare, the sound (microphonics) from cable is still an issue with V2.. other then that it's the best headset i have ever used
lol, maybe your ears are too big that i would rub against the cable. I never had an issue with their cables from tiamat, razer kraken , and now kraken 7.1 v2
I really wanna get a 3.5mm version of these for console gaming so I can start using my original Kraken headphones for music on the train. I love everything Razer does
I like how he says at first "Why would I need colors if I can't even see them" and after he says "It's nice that you can hide your mic and not fold it up and look ugly" and he can't see it
I just bought these. Can't wait to try them later. I actually like the fact there there are no volume control and things, keeps the look clean. Besides, a lot of gaming keyboards for volume function keys at least. I was actually looking at the Logitech G633 too and that Headset sounded good but looked ridiculous with all the buttons and shinny plastic.
omfg i really need this one, because I have the original Razer Kraken Pro, but the mic is shit compared to the Kraken 7.1 v2, and doesn't have noise cancellation although the other one has noice cancellation. Thank you so much for your review, and you deserve more subs
Amund Eilertsen it truly is but the worst thing about it is the major kinking on the wire. I’ve upgraded to nari ultimate,it’s the same but better and wireless (even if the mic is worse)
Just ordered these yesterday, comming today, Can´t wait for them. I´m just little bit worried now about not enough padding and the pressure on my head, but I´m quite sure it won´t be worst thatn what I had til now.
just got the headphones.... all i can say about these is comfort. They are amazing, they feel really light on my head, they move a little bit on my head when i wobble it, there is not a lot of pressure on me and the eardpads are really cool, compared to my skullcandy crusher they are amazing, the sound quality definetly not as good, but it's enough for my sim racing.
I have the Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 Gunmetal Grey and the earcups are EXTREMELY comfortable and soft, feels like fuckin pillows, the sound quality had improved significantly over my Kraken 7.1 V1.
