"Fix" for side buttons not working: Alls you gotta do is give it The Good Old Indian Trick.
Fix for button friction - clean it internally.
Fix for docking station connection issues - no good fixes. Licking the prongs sometimes helps... The dock just doesn't work very well. I have tied cleaning the mouse connections & docking station prongs many different times & ways.
Review:
After a year of use, I have never had a single mouse misclick, click failure, or pointer skipping, but I expect higher manufacturing quality for the price point. Still recommend the product, but I hope for some higher quality competition in the future.
(Feb 2022 Update): Thanks for the positive comments. Glad this helped some people. For what it's worth, I bought the G Wireless Pro and recommend it over the Razer Viper Ultimate.

Can confirm this works. If you push firmly on the sides of the mouse you'll feel it slightly give with a faint clicking sound. Almost like the sidewall isn't properly secured. Striking it with the blunt side of the screwdriver seemed to force it into place. Make take more than a few attempts. Don't try to smash it, just firmly push the sidewall back in place.

Thanks for the advice. Was thinking of opening it and clean it, or buying a new one. For me just pressing the side "panel" on different points with my thumb (to the point were it hurt the tip of my thumb) fixed it. The dock, yeah.. You always wanna make sure that the LED is breathing. In my experience all docks have similar problems.

For the charging dock i added some solder to make the 2 prongs just a hair longer and it works perfect. Interesting to see that I've had all these same issues.... Edit: to see If the solder would work i added some foil to the contacts on the mouse, I played and charged like that for quite some time, for anyone that may want a quick fix.

Coincidentally, there is a "button" hidden underneath the side grip just below the mouse 4 button. You can feel for it or possibly even see the impression. Press that in if your button suddenly stops working and you don't know why. This enables and disables the button. Rather than having to strike your mouse with other tools. Lol

Slamming the mouse on a desk will fix the side buttons problem. I am not joking. I found this solution on Reddit and slammed my mouse on my desk and the side buttons work now

lol it worked. before i slammed it on my knee a couple of times, mb5 was activating on/off rapidly even though i was pressing on it and not letting go. slammed it a couple of times and now it works with no problem

I need a scientific explanation to this. How!? I had this side button issues for months and I couldn't fix it. And now I tried the "hitting" the side, now it's working again. I can't believe it but thank you so much! P.S. I also tried the trick on the dock where you removed the connector then plug it back again and now I don't have to properly fit it just to charge. The trick has worked nicely. This mouse is a joke. Every time I encounter a problem, the solution is something bizarre like slapping the mouse, giving a good massage below those tight side buttons, or fondling the charging dock's conductive pins with cotton swabs...

I completey agree, great mouse but damn not reliable, my mouse button 5 stopped working on the both sides and it started exactly same, randomly then worked for a while now dead completely. I've also updated the firmware but the same, still have the warranty but it went exactly 1 year before it dead. Wouldn't buy it again, I now have Benq EC2 yes it is wired but it feels much more solid .

Both side buttons died for me along with the charging dock and even the charging cord. I have to leave it plugged in for it to work, otherwise, the battery dies instantly. I wonder if this is a software issue or not.

Lol. I fixed my problem.. I had the switch under the mouse set to wireless mode.. instead of wired while using it. So the battery was low and that's why the side buttons weren't working. I finally switched it to wired mode and everything works perfectly again.
