Patrick didn't do shit. The most overrated coach in history, seriously. Serena has went through slumps before and she always came back better than ever. That's what happened after RG 2012.

@@user-gu1un7pb7k Then why did Serena win 10 of the 23 slams she won over 17-and-a-half years in just 4-and-a-half?
@user-gu1un7pb7k
@user-gu1un7pb7k 3 года назад
@@itzhenrythegamerguy4564 Because she played her way back into form after a slump following an inury comeback. Before that injury she had won AO2009, Wimbledon 2009, AO 2010, Wimbledon 2010 and then suffered the injury. Patrick wasn't responsible for those slam victories, and he wasn't responsible for her slam victories after.

@@user-gu1un7pb7k it wasn't necessarily the game itself, but the mental side. I agree that coaches tend to get a little too much credit at times for the great players, but he still had a tangible impact on her game.

Those hindrance calls against Razzano were really weird and unnecessary. I think Asderaki wanted to compensate for the hindrance she called against Serena at UO 11 final. Really weak character if that is the case.
@thebigsquirrel50
@thebigsquirrel50 3 года назад
At least with the first one at 4-0, that was cause for a "hindrance" call. Not that it necessarily bothered Serena, but that's just within the rules, as the "extra noise" after the shot counts, grimacing or not. -Now, why it was replayed rather than a point penalty like Serena's case before, I have no idea- (I just read the text at the bottom) But the umpire isn't making up for anything at the US Open. Don't think about it too hard that way because you'll fool yourself into thinking that everyone's mindset is that way.

27:54 Razzano: *grunts a bit differently* Umpire for no reason : "Hindrance !"

Its because she grunted when Serena was about to hit. Its ok when you grunt while hitting but not after hitting. Serena had the same trouble in 2011 and 2015, after yelling come on too early

Oh please at 19:06 Serena hit a clean winner before the out call was made and Razzano was nowhere close to the ball even after it bounced, not even close. It was a winner but Razzano got a free replay. So give me a break.
@bryanmartin5901
@bryanmartin5901 3 года назад
Also at 26:49 Razzano received already her second code violation and lost a point. So when she broke the rules again at 27:54 she should have lost a GAME for the third infraction, just as Serena was in 2018 even though she didn’t even see her coach or receive any coaching

I watched this when it happened, I don't remember this cramping-crying out thing Razzanno was doing but screw her. It does not matter that you are cramping, that's actually your own fault, same with those little cries. If you cannot play without crying out in pain while you play, that means you should stop. Selfish player she was in this match. Big French ego clearly.
@bryanmartin5901
@bryanmartin5901 3 года назад
At 19:06 the umpire made the wrong call. Serena hit a winner and then the call came, but Serena’s shot was a clear winner as Razzano was nowhere near the ball, not even within 5-10 feet of touching it much less putting it in play. They will do anything to prevent Serena from winning.
