Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the Reserve Bank is “saying screw you” to Treasurer Jim Chalmers after they said they do not see inflation returning sustainably to target until 2026.
The Reserve Bank does not see inflation returning sustainably to target until 2026, even though headline inflation is expected to fall further temporarily because of cost of living relief.
The Reserve Bank has voted to hold rates steady at 4.35 per cent on Tuesday.
“You can see what they’re doing here - they’re saying screw you,” Mr Clennell said.
