100% agree - I just got mine, have been watching a bunch of these in the past few days. This is the one that makes we want to go try it out. The different types of videos are quite.....interesting, by the way. They run the gamut from too much to too little.
Haha dont feel bad as all his playing was stolen too Same as hotel California Almost identical chord progression following part of solo but he messed up te timing as he isn't experience enough
i really miss my rc-2 compared to this thing. i had to sell it when i was broke. then came back to buy it again later and for some reason went with the rc-1. i probably just havent gotten used to the rc-1, but man...i remember the rc-2 being super fluid and easy to lay down awesome loops.
i got one of these things yesterday, my first looper ever, only played with it for an hour so far and it seems that there is a fine art to getting a seemless loop and its something you learn to use,it aint easy,i only got it to practice lead guitar parts and solos at home anyway i wouldnt use this at a gig it could cause chaos ive seen it happen.
I love mine. I just wish the battery lasted a little longer. However you can buy an adapter, sometimes it comes with the pedal, and you really don’t have that to worry about. But if you don’t have an adapter you have a limited amount of play time with it. I do play a lot though. And I’m always using my RC-1 when playing acoustic. When you raise the effect knob on there it gives the most beautiful overlapping sound I’ve ever heard come out of a loop pedal. Props to BOSS for making such a high quality and tough as hell pedal.
I have a question for the BOSS people - One of the things I've noticed when watching cigar box guitar performers is that their loops sound dull and muted when played back...COMPARED to when they actually played the part originally. Why is that? What are they doing wrong when using this effect? I just bought a CBG and an RC-1 Loop Station, so I'm wondering.
sometimes it can be the level of the playback being lower than what the guitar is sending to the amp. or it could be that the recording is of a lower bit depth, sort of like the difference between a true analog like a record player vs digital mp3. you lose some detail in the A to D conversion. But i doubt this is the case unless its a very cheap chinese looper we are talking about here.
So the amplifier I use has a built-in 2.5 second looper and it works fantastic on clean and dirty channels.... I purchased the rc1 boss looper pedal recently and it works fantastic as well with clean sounds but when I go to the dirty channel and play heavier stuff it seems the loop itself and me playing over it the two together kind of cut each other out or drown each other out sounds messy.... I've tried to mess around with the one knob on the boss pedal but so far haven't really got it figured out how to make the dirty channels be heard with one another and sound good.... Are these pedals more designed more for clean plane because everybody I see do demos on them isn't really plain hard rock or using a distorted sound ??? is there something I'm missing do I just need to keep fooling around with the one knob to try to get the mix to come out to where it sounds good ???
Yes you are missing something. Since the distortion or overdrive (whatever is being used for dirt/gain8 is coming after the loop it will cut out other frequencies and parts. Since you are using the amp for this dirt it is coming after and putting gain on top of both the loop and your playing. What I would do to solve this problem is have a pedal for the same function you are using the dirty channel on your amp for before the looper. A good sounding and cheap pedal is the behringer line of pedals. They have the same sound as boss pedals but for as much cost. You can find such pedals on sweetwater.com for on average $30 USD. Also, if you don’t have any patch cables, you would want to get some as well. I would suggest hosa patch cables 6” for $3.65 USD for just one cable. Also, said can be found on sweetwater.com. I hope this helped you out mate.
@@danielnourry1414 Because in any guitar lesson looper or otherwise it's straight on shot so you can see all the finger positions not looking down the neck DUH!
I just bought RC1, and I was planning on getting a Foot switch as well. But before I buy it, I need to know one thing, which is : Suppose, I record 3 loops, let's say A, B and C. Now, all three are loops playing together. Now if I wish to stop the loop B, and let A and C loops continue playing, will that be possible using the foot switch? in short, can I move across the loops ?
I have the mentioned looper and I'm "facing" a little delay when started playing and when finishing...I assume that I need to get used to it (also have JMP4 and there is no delay)...
Guys I feel like I’m missing something here.I see all these videos of people laying down seamless loops with the rc-1 ,but there’s always a pause in between the end and beginning of the next loop that throws the rhythm off.Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Keep practicing your timing. It will come. Start the first loop by playing exactly at the same time you hit the pedal. Then play long enough for a complete loop and punch out. Maybe try using a Metronome to help with timing.
If your looking what to buy for your first guitar pedal, buy a looper. It will be the best first investment for a pedal and will help you develop as a player.
I am after a pedal that will automatically keep recording regardless i.e after using up all recording capacity the pedal will record over what has already been recorded without any button pushes or other action. The idea being you can just leave it running in record mode and can go back to a recording if you want to hear it again as long as it is within the max recording time. Does the RC-1 do this?
Hey! Boss company I need some help. I notice at first with my loop station the time in which the playback lights circle around are according to the length of the recording, but something happened with my station causing it to change modes in playback that isn't specified on the owners manual. I do not understand how it happened and I would very much like help fixing this problem!
Online manual is very clear but ok: hold pedal down when turning on gives you options to change the playback mode, the stop mode and the display mode. It's in the online manual clear as day dude. I'm no Einstein but I got it. Just read.
I have one RC-1 bought from Guitar Center 8 Months , But i can't double click for stop > when i double click it turn to delete. How should i do for stop. ? I send e-Mail to customer service of Boss they don't answer anything.
One more time: holding down the pedal when you turn it on gives you three options to change the playback mode, stop mode and display mode. It's in the online manual that I downloaded before I bought it so I already knew. READ THE ONE PAGE MANUAL GOOD it's a 1 page manual ffs everyone keeps asking this
+Cinta Meyrick Also happened to me. You only have to keep de pedal pressed and then plug the jack in. Then press once or twice (it depends) until the the "semi circle" changes to the other side of the the circle sorrounding the "loop" word. Unplug and it's done.
To get reverb and delay and distortion and chorus phasing flanger, pitch shifter etc. you need effects yes. A multieffect processor for instance. Put the looper last in the chain so you can change loop sounds.
Billy Willy Sound like he is using all the pickups for the rhythm bit, then swapping to the front pickup(s) for the soloing, possibly sounds like he is using a delay pedal for the solo also. Can't be 100% though because i cant see where his other foot goes!
Billy Willy He's using a Bosely custom axe with Loverboi(tm) custom wound pups through a Boose and Hogney 20watt class A amp. The 12" speaker is being recorded by a humble Shure sm57 in the "on axis" position.
Old models have lot of functions. The led bar I don't think is really useful. 1st if you can feel music don't need a counter lmao, also if you are really playing (not home jam) sure you will not look at the floor -_-
+Zared I figured it out. I feel pretty stupid it was just a defective battery haha. I sat there for ages and finally thought to go get another new battery.
Hello. Just a thing… wonderful product, but WHY its not user friendly for a LIVE USE? I mean. WE NEED TO STORE DRUM PRESETS, .create a LIST, and RECALL them without hands! Why the need to use a footswitch? THINK LIVE PLEASE. AND EASY!thanks
