On 12:26 you say you don't like the angle the loft creates. That is because you have the setting to "connected" instead of "tangent". That will solve your problem without having to make extra sketches. Also you can always add 3D splines to the existing sketch and use those as guides for the loft, without needing extra sketches.
This is super helpful. One problem I ran into that I'm having difficulty solving is creating a wingtip for a cambered foil where the bottom of the profile crosses over the centerline. For example, an RG-15 near the trailing edge goes above the centerline. This makes it not possible to use the centerline and half the profile to loft to the midplane of the wing. I tried splitting it into two (vertically ~20% from the trailing edge) and was able to make the profile, however it has a crease in the surface at the line.

Hi @TheRCGuide at 7:56 you are creating the (lets call it outline sape of the wing (maybe not the correct term; I am not an english native speaker :) ). Is it possible to import the airfoil dat file if the outline shape of the wing is done first or is it necessary to import the airfoil and just THEN creating the wing outline shape? Sounds complicated, but I hope you know what I am asking :D
I find it easier to place the airfoil first then create the wing planform. The most important function of this operation is that the planform is connected to the airfoil shape.
I've been wrestling with wing design using lofts and it's been driving me nuts. I wasn't familiar with sweeps which appears to make life a lot easier. Thanks for sharing this information. Also, I'd like to find out more about control point splines.
There are lots of ways to approach wing design, as in everything in CAD. The only time I use a loft, is when I am going to use different airfoils on the roots and tips of a wing. If the design calls for anything other than a rectangular wing, you will need to add rails. These rails must intersect with the profiles, otherwise they will not work. 31:00 - what is this "wash out" for? Is that for increasement of the lift? My first impression is that angle on the wing tip will decrease the lift, could you give me some info where I can read anything about that? Also: making your own design of the plane, how do you know what is the proper wing-span considering that you have choose the specific wing profile? How should I calculate that? Thank u for your help!

Do I have to sketch the line you sketched in 5:10 to be able to do what you did in 11:51? English is not my mother tongue so I might also have misunderstood something but I'd be thankful for any help!! :)
That is an entirely different subject. I recommend reading Chuck Cunningham's series on designing rc planes as well any of Andy Lennon's book for rc airplane design.

Hey man, I am working on a Macbook too and had the same problem. To open the data I did this: opened these-files of the airfoil I chose as selig format; copied them into TextEditor; Changed to "text only" so I could save is as a .txt data; went into fusion and opened "Airfoil DAT to spline"; went on "all files" (not just the Airfoil DAT files) and imported the airfoil. Works for me👍🏽
