Thanks for the many comments and support! that was my first flight with nitro and also my first video I was a little nervous but everything worked well. of course, with the brothers Petrinčič!!!
Congratulations Captain Mitja on your maiden nitro flight with a perfect landing and a great support crew. I hope you have many more happy landings and lots of laughs in this great hobby. Cheers from Sydney, Australia
Great landing and great flight. Well done young man, you were fantastic. This takes me back to May 1986 when I had my first maiden flight at the age of 22. My very first plane was a Yamamoto 40 trainer powered with an OS 40 two stroke. The memories are flooding back. I love nitro planes and that young pilot did great and got good guidance and encouragement from Robert and Blaz.
Lol. That was my first RC Plane aswell and with an ASP40. Year 1980. ASP Engines had just become available in the UK. A- Acceleration S- Speed P- Performance If anyone wondered what the ASP stood for. Approx 15 flights before the Bearings exploded and shotblasted the Engine internals. They have obviously improved the quality of the Bearings now though.
Enjoy your nitro engine Mitja. Advice for you: build a plane from a kit. A Sig Mfg. 4 Star 40 would be a great one for your ASP. You will learn so much. I wish I could come and fly with you guys. Enjoy!!
Mitja, I would recommend Sig Mfg. if you want to build from a kit. Particularly the Sig 4 Star 60, 1800 mm wing span or 4 Star 120, 2057 mm. They fly great and are easy for a first time builder. The Sig Mfg. website also has a tab for international dealers. There is one in Austria. Tower Hobbies and Balsa USA are also great choices for kits. I imagine the shipping costs from USA is quite high though. Build a kit and learn about aircraft young man. Good luck my new friend. Here is a you tube vid of a 4 Star 60 that is overpowered with a Saito 1.20 but looks fun. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SQMOxxW2_Go.html
I looked at the plane and footage and it looks fantastic, so I will order it soon but I'll get 81 "because it's big I love big and loud planes thanks for the advice
Outstanding flight Cap'n Mitja, and you made the perfect landing. Nice tune on the engine Cap'n Blaz! Excellent camera work and commentary Pilot Robert! 👍
I can't wait for the T-28 flight, the suspense is killing me! lol ...Hopefully this week sometime soon, my finger is hovering, waiting for a button to appear! Great maiden Pilot Mitja!
Thank you! I also have t 28 electro 1100mm over the wings, nice flights but the bikes are very small so landing is a little more difficult and the propeller is very near the ground... I wish you a successful flight
How awesome! I'll be doing the same thing soon with my nitro trainer. I did already start mine at the field, but hey I wish I had an engine doctor to start my plane. Ha ha. With really sticking that landing, is Woody going to replace you Pilot Robert? Oh No!
OH Yea.....Hi from Canada! I bought one of these used that had been converted to electric but have NO idea where the CG would be. Can u help Captain Blaz?
Wonderful channel guys , best rc plane channel ever. I new into rc planes , have a boomarang 60, how did you guys do the led wireing for the glow plug ? and also on the zero ? can you do a vid on these alterations please ? Thanks from Australia.
It was his first time to fly nitro plane and it was his maiden with this baby. It was setted before by Blaž. Still he did perfect job. Cheers my friend.
That ain't Mitya's first flight. Looks more like his 1001st flight. THAT BOY GOOD! That maybe even the 51st flight for the airframe, although that looks really new. And incredibly competent, too!
Maiden flight by Captain MItja is a great story about the nitro plane it will be and is a happy ending for nitro plane's. Congratulations Captain MItja for a new plane that will stay in the family.
Hi there, I have an opportunity to buy the excell 2000 arf. Do you think an OS 52 fourstroke would fly this plane ok? I wouldn't want it underpowered. Does the plane have any weakness? Thanks.
I have that excel2000... At the beginning, wings ware allmost cracked open at flight time... Originally, fuse is excellent , but wings are not.. I stripped the coverage, and reinforced cender with 3 leyers of 180 gr/m Fiberglass : one covering 10 cm each side of Center, second 5 cm for eac side And last third strip of 3 cm... Now this plane does extremely hard pull ups and other insane maneuvers that will take a part any other planes in mid air.... And i changed wheels to 2.5" dubro...
You can tell Mitjahoman must do a lot of running, or possibly road cycling... he is already slim (fit) and besides the Petrincic brothers he looks like a teenager... je je
I never really liked electric anything much I mean it’s OK but I love Nigel so much I’m building a almost done ready to get in the air with mine magnum 40 with my right flier 40 T nitro plane sexy Captain Jezzee signing off
