Vector Control means: moving the motor/propeller in all directions instead of flight controls. During rotation, the motor is kept in a 'normal' position by stabilization of a pendulum. Pendulum weight is the LiPo - battery.
Really cool. There have been round-wing airplanes for more than a hundred years. They’re interesting, because they don’t need to bank into a turn. But the landing gear is a problem. As far as I know, nobody ever found any great advantage in using them.
- Now if the Wright brothers had build their 1908 flyer to that design & flew it in Paris, I think the thousands of spectators would have freaked out. - And World War-1 aerial dog fights chasing each other would have been hysterical to watch.
This reminds me of what's in one of the old 14th century drawings of skies filled with UFOs over townspeople all looking up pointing, and the sun in the middle of the sky with a face, looking around all confused 😕
Because RU-vid is censoring, shadow banning and manipulating content to discourage viewer from searching and viewing anything conservative. It's their narrative or no narrative.
The pendulum was clever and simple. Before I looked closer at the angle of the radial surfaces, I thought the spinning was from torque reaction. Tons of fun!
It looks difficult to control, would be hella uncomfortable to ride. It would probably waste a lot of fuel. . . . But it's one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, in powered flight. GREAT JOB!
Wasn’t there a biblical description of a wheel within a wheel? This has some familiarity with a drawing of an artist on this subject - except this one flies in real.
How is this video so synchronized with the object? It is like the camera doesn't miss a beat. No human could be that accurate to get that type if footage.
That is a work of art! Engineering art! Wow so cool! Seems like it would have been a bit visually confusing to fly at first. Great job. Thanks for sharing!
I have enough trouble keeping my 'normal' vectored kites in perspective so that one of yours would certainly screw up my hand/eye co-ordination!!! Good one.
This thing is freakin awesome. Nice video. I actually had a question also, What makes the ball spin? Just forward movement and the subsequent airflow over the slanted outer fins?
You wouldn't have happened to been flying this over Portland Oregon yesterday afternoon at 7:00 would you? I saw on it almost identical ship like this. No noise except it was doing 150 miles an hour plus. I took video of it also. This is the only aircraft I've seen that looked like it
For lack of better words; COOL! Looks like something you'd see at Burning Man. I'd like to see a very large version of this! Something a human could ride in? The human could be part of the pendulum... Thanks for sharing the product of your creative mind!
Imagine lights on it at night over a city, the UFO reports would be OFF the charts!!! "I saw a shape shifting UFO, the lights were crazy, that's NOT an airplane" LOL
A wing doesn't have to have an airfoil to provide lift. The circular wing likely provides some lift but I think most of the lift comes from the vertical component of the thrust produced by the propeller. Cool aircraft vectorkites. Thanks for posting this video. I look forward to watching your other videos.
how about filming it with various smoke paths, aka wind tunnel tests as best you can. the flows would show some of whats going on. In any case very cool. keep going.
Fantastico control de la máquina, excelente estudio de las leyes aerodinámicas! Apuesto que hay muchas aplicaciones para esos conocimientos. Felicitaciones!!! Ahora a fabricarlos a escala grande jaja pay per view
Suggestion for an upgrade: Stripes/bands (like a kite) at its back so that it looks a bit like a jellyfish, at some lighting and at night it could look like something from a Cyberpunk movie 🪁
VERY nice job! One of the most cleaver designs I've seen. Obviously everyone wants to know how you are vectoring the motor/prop. Keep up the creativity! Awesome.
I have a recurring dream of two objects "U.F.O." One looks very similar to what is in the video but has a very loud pulse jet sound too it! Very cool what you guys are doing!
Would have been nice to have some info. Maybe talk about how its controlled. Don't see how control surfaces could be used as orientation is constantly changing. And where the heck did you put the equipment? Didn't look like there is room for batteries, receiver, servos, etc.
Lets take this craft to a much larger scale and implement other forms of propulsion and see if you can imagine what may have already been in our skies..?
