Nice job Andrew. You could also change the angle of the 2 drive motors so that the line of thrust looking forward, is downwards (to a point just behind the curvature of front pontoons). That would help to keep the nose up and stop the front end wanting to dig into the water. Having fun!!

That goes much better Andrew with the front skids bent up. No water ingress either by the looks of it. I'm wondering how much "drag" there is from the crinkly surface of the Noodles ? Like you say, a smoother "skid" may be better and will possibly allow the rescue boat to get up on the plane. Maybe Amellia Earhart will have to be resurrected to go water skiing now ?

Howdy Andrew, I think you may need a rescue boat for the first rescue boat for when e lips goes flat, as that looks like loads of fun!

woohoo runs like a champ now. next we`d like to see it rescue perhaps a dummy plane you could toss out in the middle of the pond and bring it back. cheers!to add: maybe run some fishing line between the pontoons to push the victims back to shore?

My buddy and i built one of these, using your main design idea. We put an fpv system on it and it drove around really well in the water. But when we actually tried to push something in the water with it, it became very hard to control. It wanted to spin to the left or the right. We are working on a rudder to try to fix this.

Based on previous experience with plane rescue boats I would cage in the props. I will be happy to see your final design.

This is much improved over the first version. Like you I can see a version with a flat bottom. Its a good platform for a seaplane, too - with additional servos for retractable landing wheels. ((-:

Ok so now we all know it floats and it zooms around the local duck pond, but will it do what you originally made it for? Time for the wet suit and test.

Nice!...Look into a stepped hull airboat...I have made a few from foam with a single 2200kv moor and various 7 inch props which quite literally flew. I would recommend 2200kv with a 7x3x3 and a 40 amp- 50amp esc for the best speed and thrust for the airboat. Air boats are great fun. The stepped hulls almost glides under a pocket of air.

Tried to comment on the new delivery video but it is blocked. Andrew, I would suggest you replace the engine mount on the FX-61 before glueing it in. It WILL break, though might take a few flights, and is a bugger to do later. If needed I can machine one up for you and send it over. Regards, Simon.

I always wanted to make one of these. I figured a strong magnet on a string would be a reliable way to grab a sinking or upside-down boat.

Great job! Looking forward to the first rescue and what other additions are coming. I want to build one just to play with. Water is only a couple of blocks from my house. Only one alligator sighting in 36 years. It was about 5 feet long then,..... now I don't know?

Many thanks Andrew. Ive collected my bits together for this . Im a fixed wing flyer and hsve no Heli experience. I have an old Spectrum DX7. Im not to sure where to insert the motor leads on the radio. Im guessing the model type has to be on Heli then 2 forward motors on to Aileron and Aux1 on radio. Does the reverse motor go into Elevator? Or have i got it completely wrong!? If you can soare the time, i would appreciate some guidance. The rescue boat seems a great and timely addition to my fleet. Kind regards, Al Fulton

This would be handy for lifeguards needing to get a life ring or a line to a struggling swimmer. It occurs to me that if the props were positioned and angled to lift up as well as push, the drag would decrease as you sped up.

Hahaha! man your having Tooo much fun mate! I wonder how you would go ironing on some film to the pool noodles to make them slippery-er? A cheap way is use A3 laminating pouch pulled apart. This thing is morphing into something else entirely! Since you have bent up the front how will you rescue something without driving over it an drowning it completely?? If I can answer my own question.... think forklift! only have to pivot at the elbow on a rod between the floats as they bend up and a servo on the deck under the lunch box, pushrod to the "rack" so you can lower the points into the water when you get close. You'll be able to lift the plane out of the water!... in theory lol....Love what you doing mate, well done!😎😎

How does the boat preform when its actually pushing a boat to shore? Looking for a rescue setup for the geico 36 which can weight close to 20lbs when its water logged. Wondering if this setup will work. Thanks.

after flat planing hulls it would be fun to see hydrofoils although it would no longer be practical as a rescue boat.

So what rescues the "rescue boat" once it becomes a sitting duck?

Andrew, the mods you have made have seem to have improved the boat no end.How about trying it out on an actual rescue.

Now you gotta build a legit AirBoat! Something like we use here in the Everglades!
