You have the most amazing crawling and trail spots!! I’ve never got into the crawling/trail side of the hobby but I plan on doing it. I think it would be soooo much fun to go on hikes through the woods with my little girl and an rc. She loves rc like her daddy. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive for a decent 10th scale rig.. single dad life so it’ll take a while to save up for one… I saw the ascent and that looks awesome and more affordable than most so I might save for that. Hopefully by spring this way me and the little one can enjoy the trails together. Thanks so much for all the reviews and amazing running footage!! Mme and my little girl love watching.. and congrats again on 100k brother
@@keatonjorgensen8793 yeah, I agree with the price but the thing is I won’t really be able to take it out in the woods by May and go on like trail runs and stuff like that with my little girl. That’s why I’m trying to find something like 10th scale. I’m thinking the red cat ascent might be a good way to go.
@brianwood9849 probably cause the straight axle is simpler and more robust. They already had them all made so they didn't have to design an ifs system and everyone that builds a rock crawler in the real world does a straight axle swap anyway with either toyota axles or a Dana 40 or Dana 60
Great review. At least as far as USA model Toyota Pickups, RC4WD kinda messed up with the year of this model. 1985 was the last year of Leaf Spring front suspension on the Toyota 4wd pickups - 1986 they switched to IFS front suspension on the pickups. They should be calling this a 1985 Toyota
I like how the they moved the front shackles to the back to stay true to scale. How does the body mount apart from the the 4 screws that holds it up? What's supporting the bed? I know that in TF2 Mojave the bed has body posts...didn't see any on this one 🤔
Sry, but couldn’t the place the springs in the front another way? Myn is set more close to the chassie frame. And yes a Sr5 is nice, but shouldn’t they chose another toyota body or something new now? Best from me.
What kills it for me is that the suspension is always stiff, hard plastic seats, and the screws on the rocker panels. Not very scale in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I still think it's an awesome rig, one that I may not be able to afford at the moment but I still say that RC4WD should up their game in those areas.
It looks really nice. I am not too impressed by how the suspension works - looks a bit too stiff. I kinda expected it to be more plush. This car is in a way a competitor to something like BRX01, so that is what I naively compare it to. It is great to hear that RC4WD did improvements on the axles as those were apparently the weak spot of the TF2 chassis.
RC4WD leaf springs are always stiff out of the box (and the shocks typically come with small springs inside too) - both of those elements can be tweaked easily if you want to tune your ride height and articulation.
Beautiful but for a scaler it is way too stiff… I would not use any shock oil at all and take away a leaf on every corner. You want it to be a little loosy goosy 😊👍🏻
No, this is more of a looker, high cg truck and long bed. There are better starting points out there with a shorter bed, lighter body and more articulation and steering.
That is the easy and often correct upgrade to all these crawlers. Scalers benefit even more since space is at a premium and the Fusion Pro has no external ESC!!
This is way batter. The axles are now bulletproof with better steering radius. Also the drivetrain is better and the suspension is tuned better out of the box. Back tot he Futur has really nice bumpers and roll bar.
Its takesabout 20 years for RC4 wheel drive to Come Up With This Model and all they did was put open doors and hood.. TF3 was a loser so they'll drag TF2 thu? Disappointing
