AM FM & DAB works perfectly in my other passat B6, have fitted dab from B7 saloon in the rear glass and swapped a wire like on the Video i have uploaded fitting Dab in passat CC . Difference is that b6 has the antenna in rear screen right under the plastic cover with the stop center light.
Hello, please I have the original rcd 510 I am looking to connect the rns 510 also to install the glove cd changer .but I noticed there is no available space to connect the socket of the cd loader behind the main unit, i noticed this can only be possible if i remove the blue socket on the main switch and insert the blue socket of the cd loadee into it which means that the original function of the blue socket might not work, i guess this is steering control of volume and music please how do you suggest.?

That's a very useful, clearly explained video, many thanks. I would like to install either an RCD 510 or RNS 510 unit in my B7 Passat. It's a Japanese import with a Japanese-only head unit, but it does have GPS installed - only for Japan though (not much use in the UK!) If I buy a used unit from eBay and it has the sticker on the side like you show, did you say that was also the security code to activate the unit once it's been installed?
You need the serial number located on the side of the unit, send that in comments when you buy the code on ebay 5-10£ max. If fitting rns510 don’t forget to buy fakra gps antenna. Maps can be updated to uk I suppose, do some research on that.
@@lavianeverything Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. I think the GPS antenna is already fitted, (it's a small, flat square 'box' about 35x35x10mm tall right?) on the top corner of the dash. If it's not that then yes I'll get one, thanks again.
I tried to install a Bluetooth module 1k8035730D but I can’t use it. BT button is greyed out on the HU. Not visible on the phone as well. Would you know?
Have you bought a retrofit kit that plugs into the back of the radio? To me it seems like you have no power or wrong coding if you can access the bt module. Ideally you would need white cluster b6 facelift or b7.
Get a gateway from 2008 model, my can gateway was ending in H if it helps but any 3c0 after 2008 shows do. Do not put 7n0 gateway unless you have bcm conversion to b7 and all that lot.
I have the opportunity to purchase the rn510 oem stereo and it will be replacing the same unit of the rcd 310 model. What do I need to make all the functions work on the new oem radio that I’m im the process of buying
