On Friday, RCMP historical homicide investigators announced they had definitively established Srery was responsible for the murders of Eva Dvorak, Patricia McQueen, Melissa Rehorek and Barbara MacLean, whose bodies were found dumped around Calgary between 1976 and 1977.

How terribly sad that the parents of those girls have had to spend 50 years wondering who killed their children - and he went on to do more harm and live out his life albeit in prison. Glad methods for solving cases have improved but such a painful experience for families.

So he was murdering in Alberta, then relocated to the lower mainland for a number of years, but we have NADA on his goings on during that time, until he was convicted in New Westminster, did his years, was deported, only to immediately get caught in Idaho. Sounds like his lower mainland years need a hard look at: a LOT of women disappeared or were killed during that time.

In the "old days" anyone could just enter and leave Canada. Not anymore. An excellent change has taken place. But, back then, those poor girls happened to cross his path and their lives were over. Keep checking that border and all who attempt to cross it. Keep the fiends and criminals out.

I'm glad i found an idiot in these comment sections, its arguably the same border security as the 70's potentially worse. you must realize canada right now has been reported to be safe haven for numerous international terrorist rings. please realize Americas border crisis is also canadas. the next war wont be fought on foreign ground. next year come back t this post, if our grid is still intact.. god bless canada and all its TRUE Canadians. The guys who flew the planes into the buildings killing innocent people had your wonderful freedom of travel. I'd rather have everyone inconveniently checked by authorities if it prevents the death of one person.
