Thank you for doing this video an explaining everything through step by step it helps us that are starting into larger planes that use large props , happy flying
Nice video. Instead of sanding the heavy side of a prop and especially on a nice carbon, I use clear spray paint on backside of the lightest side. Wait till the paint drys and the moisture is gone before re-balancing. Keeps the prop nice and shiny.
I have a DuBro balancer but my shaft is 3mm diameter and uses a spring and fuel hose to hold it in place. This setup does not work for large props. Your shaft on the balancer and cones look larger then mine and you do not use a spring or fuel hose to secure it. Is yours shaft and cones an upgrade or different name brand??
Why do you guys not follow Prop Manufacturers advice ? Mounting a prop on balancer : Taper into hub at REAR to centre the prop ... FLAT Face of cone to FRONT hub to make sure prop hub is perpendicular to shaft. The front shaft hole is not the precision reference .. the rear is. Check out APC Tech support. Drilling props - if its a single central hole shaft - NEVER drill ... always use a hardened steel taper reamer to avoid de-centralising the shaft hole. Again refer APC Tech Support.
