I've worked out on traditional heavy bags ru-vid.comUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.
hey, how do you like this punching bag after 7 months? I am thinking of buying 1 for my backyard outside. How heavy is the bag itself? I need to take the top off and put it home when im not using it, so I can protect it from the rain.
Finally a non sponsered free standing bag review. I hate the videos where some "golden gloves" or "champion" kick boxer come in and love taps the thing and says "yeah it can take power hits". Thank you for your honest review. in a way I don't ever want you to get sponsored because it would taint your honest review. But I do wish you good things for your video dude. Don't ever change.
Great review, and nicely presented. It is also even better as you clearly are trained, and have good technique, so seeing the bag not skid across the yard after you connect with a spinning back kick, tells me that it really is a sturdy stable piece of kit. I hope RDX throw you a sweetener, because I am totally buying this entirely because of your review.
Great video pal, I recently got rid of my old Everlast freestanding bag a few months back and was looking at possibly knocking up a car tyre homemade one as it would be resilient and fine in the elements but like yourself with my old bag I used to leave the base outside and store the actual bag for protection, glad I saw this vid, gonna make a purchase payday I think...😎✌🏻
I so appreciate this review. I purchased this last week and begin using right away. I love it so far as it shakes up my cardio and weight lifting routine. I was going to purchase fight camp but felt it was too overpriced for me and didn't want to make that kind of commitment to price and membership.
Great video thanks i have bought one based on this review. It covered everything i wanted to know with a nice demo of it being used. Looking forward to it being delivered soon.
I purchased this bag based on this review after having my eyes strain from reading reviews and watching them. It's on it's way this week. I just want to say thank you for taking the time to make the review it has been very helpful good to see someone care about other people's development. God bless you and your family.
@@ilovefighting348 It arrived. Was just as your review explained. Only had chance to put 1 25kg bag of soft play sand in the base but will be putting in 1 bag every week 5 bags in total (Nightmare even with the provided funnel, the hole is so small I resorted to pouring it in the top of the funnel one handful at a time) Training is going well using it one day on one day off. Take care ❤️✝️
Update Don't buy more than two 25kg bags of play sand as after the second bag it's almost impossible to push more in. After filling it up with the first two fill the rest of the base with water from a garden hose. It will then be very stable.
Thanks mate, this review really helped me decide on what to buy! I plan on leaving it in a fixed spot in my workout room so the part of it being a pain to move is actually a plus. Can't wait to get it and give it a good hiding ☺️
@@ludwiggengnagel6093 😔 you don’t understand what your saying , Jesus is so close to returning and when he does, it’s over no second chances, so use the life you have now to at least give God a chance. For God so loved the world that he gave up his only begotten son, that whoever believes him SHALL not perish,!!! but have everlasting life
Thanks for the video. I’m looking for a free standing bag and I’m going to go for this now 🥊 Looking forward to seeing your update and how it’s holding up 👊
Couple of questions if you don't mind. What do they mean exactly by bouncing your punches off the bag please? And any other advice for a beginner? 46 years old, trying to lose weight an get fit. I have back problems, an boxing seems to help strengthen my core. Cheers.
@@theandybchannel.1819 Thanks Andy. I'm not too sure what they mean by bouncing punches off the bag. probably another term for hitting the bag or maybe the act of pulling back your hands to guard. Check out a youtube channel called Warrior Collective. In my opinion the best channel on youtube for fighting tutorials. Good Luck.
@@ilovefighting348 thanks for the reply, I'm still whacking that bag almost everyday, dropped 10kg an off the pain killers. I'll check out that channel. Many thanks.
I was gonna say that the only disadvantage I see to this bag is that it's not meant for outdoor use but you covered that when you talked about putting it inside during inclement weather. You pretty much want to cover it with something that sunlight can't penetrate when you're not using it. Even during fair weather sunlight (UV rays) pretty much destroy anything manmade out of plastic, rubber, imitation leather, etc.
Nice video thanks, this confirmed the RDX was the bag for me , placed the order and bag just arrived in silver/black . Interestingly the water/sand hole on my base is not on the middle its on the side with a screw cap .
@@ilovefighting348 Absolutely loving the bag and usu it a few times a week at least , really good quality for the price. Currently filled with water which is good enough for now but will fill with sand eventually. Also it came with a very good quality cover which was a nice surprise 😁
Great video! I was about to buy another bag but this might have changed my mind. When you punch it have you been able to tip it over? I want to get something that won’t be falling over a lot. Also the price I see is about 250 after shipping and taxes does that sound about right?
I'm guessing you're from America, so I just checked the conversion to USD and $250 sounds about right. Recently I've been throwing spinning back kicks on the bag and it still hasn't fallen over yet and it isn't either filled to the top. I can't see many people knocking this over with punches unless you give a full powered FALCON PUNCH(plus a really big guy).
@@ilovefighting348 yes American lol. That sounds good enough for me! I just placed the order it arrives next week 💪 thanks for making this video and saving me 200 I was about to overpay for something just like this in my city they wanted 200 more…
@@MrLomachenko16 if it’s the same bag as the one in the video it’s been great! I filled it up with water at the base about a year ago and it’s held up to a full year outdoors and uncovered other than the roof of the porch I have it on. I’m not sure what you/they mean by inflatable though? it is a thick foam and very heavy once you poor either water/sand in the base. It’s so heavy I can’t knock it over with any punch or kick. I can’t even lift it completely off the ground to move it lol I have to kind of slide it back and forth then do semi rotations. It’s extremely sturdy only suggestion I have it to make sure you place it in the general area you want it before filling the base up and extending the legs at the bottom. Once you do that it’s going to be a pain to move.
@@ejj9956 omg! Thank you so much for your time god bless you! I have been contemplating buying it for some time but I was a bit worried as in the Spanish version of the Web it says inflatable for some reason, I guess its just an error. I will try notify the company about it! Thank you so much.
I also have both bags that you have in your clip and I prefer the RDX one on the points you have mentioned. Just one tip I have added anti freeze to the water in order that the water ion the base does not freeze or starting smelling
I was planning on dumping the water for the winter. Have you tried the anti-freeze before? If so, how'd it survive the winter? Any suggested brands for anti-freeze?
Would you recommend this bag over a century bob dummy? I was 100% convinced on bob but your review of this punch bag is turning my head slightly 😂👍 Awesome video dude. Any feedback is greatly appreciated 👍
Believe me Ara punches wont knock it down I've tried. The only time I get close to doing that, is when I throw a spinning back kick. Money back guarantee if you're not happy.
Good review, nice bag. What does punching this bag feel like, is it comfortable to hit, not to hard surfaced? My everlast is finally softening up a bit but it's taken several years of brutal attacks (lol) to get that way.
Great review! Loved the video! Buy and Review The Ringside Elite Freestanding Heavybag! I really think it will beat the rdx! But they are somehow similar!
Good review brother. I want to use my bag outside so I like the idea of being able to just pop it out and bring it in. Are you worried about your neighbors at all? lol
I was worried at first but I then thought f&** them but then I thought thats highly inconsiderate of me lol. So if I'm hitting the bag late at night then I go light not to disturb the neighbours or if I have to much energy. If it's midday then it's "HULK SMASH TIME." Glad you enjoyed the review.
@@ilovefighting348 Good man. I have to go in guilt free if I want to lose weight. The neighbors party until 4am anyway. They'll be straight. I picked up some UV protection spray for plastic since I'm leaving it out. Hoping that keeps the bag going for many years. At least two.
@@HatesRacists seems the spray would have a type of sticky or slippery build-up after some time. That would not be good. Or, maybe it might break down the material of the bag which could lead to tears.
Depends on your weight, and the technique you are using. Punches should be fine for the vast majority of people. Most kicks are fine, just be careful when throwing teeps and spinning back kicks.
hi, I'm looking for a free standing kickboxing bag and found your review very interesting. Do you think it would be still stable if put in the garden? I mean, I have just grass on the outside, no plain surface. Thanks
Hey, I'm going to buy a Freestanding punching bag today and it's between this one and the Dripex, is that the Dripex in the background, if so how do you compare those two?
@@ilovefighting348 I bought this bag after watching your vid, i had to fill the bottom with sand, as water wasn't heavy enough for me. But i can't fault the bag, its perfect! Thanks again for giving me the confidence to buy
I’m going to buy this bag. I don’t have a garage but a drive way where I can train with it . I would rather have a hanging heavy bag. But the thing I like about this bag is I can take it off and put it in my house just in case it rains outside
Thank you for the great review. With some more research, this version is called RONIN (has # convention) vs. KARA (has just RDX logo). Can you please help with the diameter of the RDX bag and base? is the bag-to-base connector sturdy? does the bag have water leak issues over the period, after you started using it? also what was your old bag's brand? I am comparing RDX vs. FITVEN's (both old & new versions) vs. GIKPAL vs. Century WM XXL vs. Bigzzia vs. Dripex? Do you have any advise for me please?
Great comment, I've actually been using the Torrent Century punch bag at my gym and it's pretty awesome. Main downside to Century punch bags are that they are expensive. Also hands down the rdx kara in this video is way more study and harder to knock down. But to the credit of Century the bag is easier to move around the gym. Also the Torrent leather casing kinda act like a weird skirt which you may need to pull down from time to time. Here a link to my old bag www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333923760346?hash=item4dbf6838da:g:BK0AAOSwlq1gUdba I'll make a follow up video on this bag soon showing all the pro's and cons. Thank you Rookie.
@@ilovefighting348 Very interesting... Comments i'm now sponsored by RDX and have a KARA Coming once back in stock.. I was wondering if it was better than the century Torrent! In My Kickboxing Academies we use Century Torrent! t1 and t2 🟥
That's awesome bro... Let me know when you wanna learn how to work the bag at another level! Go 6, 8 or 10 rounds with correct technique... >> combatfit.tv i'm ready to be in your corner... 🥊 Paul the Boxing Trainer!
I bought a free-standing bag a long time ago. I used it every day until the outer material softened and every hard punch I'd throw would hit the metal pole in the center of the bag. It hurt like hell. Even after I bought some new bag gloves with extra cushioning, I'd still make hard contact with the center pole. After this, the bag was completely useless and I had to junk it. Does anyone know if this is still a problem with the current generation of free-standing bags?
It's pretty good, not the best if you're using water to fill it up with tho. I would suggest the black and white punch bag if you're a boxer and you are on the lighter side in terms of weight or on a budget. Not the best if you're a kickboxer or if you're a bigger guy.
Is this the rdx kara or the rdx ronin?? Looking to buy one but seems there are two very similar bags on their site. The kara doesnt show any of the targets on the bag on the website but the ronin does... edit: just checked the rdx website..the Kara doesnt have the same pattern as this bag. The Ronin does..im guessing this is the Ronin?
