How do you maintain inspiration to keep creating music? Is it the creativity of just making music, or do you get new gear and sounds to evolve and keep the inspiration going?
My inspiration right now is the improvised work flow and the amount of new things I can learn, but in the end what really drives me is the joy of creating and enjoying music as much as possible.
I really didn’t think I would get used to the improvised work flow with jams and hardware when I started it some months ago. Before this I was more structured in the arrangement of my music and nothing was improvised.
Now each jams brings me some nervousness and it takes me back to my early years of playing in bands, with rehearsals in basements and playing small clubs. And the hands on creation is so satisfying and inspiring. Hope this will go on as long as possible.
This week’s jam session with the model samples and cycles is 13 min dub techno session that includes 5 different chord samples, 1 pad, 5 percussive sounds and 1 bass. Besides the built in effects in the models I use the Blackhole for reverb and the TSE gauss for tape eco delay and the TCE Afterglow. Enjoy!
