RE Fuel pump problems are common in the Royal Enfield 500cc EFI models. This is only because people don't maintain the fuel system as it should be. Most of the old bullet mechanics are afraid of working on the EFI models. This video is all about how to keep your RE Classic, Desert storm or Thunderbird 500 cc model in a good and healthy running condition.

Last Night itself RE serviceman said you need to buy New Fuel Pump which is Rs.8000 for my ThunderBird 500. Early Morning at 5am i am searching videos on Fuel Pump and i Found yours. Your Explanation is so Crystal Clear that a 5th standard can understand. " " I really Appreciate and a Very Big Thank You Whole Heartedly " " to you for making this Video. Not even people like ncr motorcycles, Bullet Guru has done video on this thing. You have really helped. Now i can do it by myself . Thankyou Once again. Brother my ds500 fuel pump stops working ..Then I have to hit it with some hammer. Or any other heavy stuff.. Mechanic suggested to go for carburetor system ..Kindly suggest any tip

This is a good explanation....those showroom lavadas keep telling to changr from efi to carb....or to change the whole fuel pump which costs 12k.....but i simply ordered a fuel pump motor costs 2.3k and changed it by myself.now my bike is doing good

Very informative video. 99% of old Bullet mechanics are recommending EFI to carb change and poor lads like us are blindly following it. I was very skeptical about buying an used Classic 500 EFI. Mechanics were scaring me telling that the injector costs Rs 3.5K, Pump costs Rs 8K, ECM costs Rs 28K and blah blah blah. Now I feel confident about buying EFI models. Expecting more videos about EFI system.

What a superb video with crystal clear explanations. People have been recommending me to chuck EFI. My fuel pump is probably facing some issue as it is stopping prematurely when I switch on the engine button. Let's see. Thanks

Thank you Harmeet, just when you buy one.. check for any missing problems or jerks when the vehicle is idling and on sudden acceleration. It should rev happily in either conditions. If you manage to get your hand on a 'all is well' 500.. trust me it's a beast on the road and on song in cruising speeds of 80kmph.. Cheers and Happy Riding 🤘

Your are doing a great service ..God send video ..i have recently bought a second hand bs4 classic 500 and there is a leakage of petrol drop by drop near efi..i was suggested by the service centre to replace the entire efi costing around 15 k

Excellent video with lots of info. Only thing missing is....you should have shown how you reassemble the pump and fit it back on to the fuel tank. Thanks alot for a great video. I am planning on buying used 2014 Thunderbird 500. After reading so much about EFI issues, I was kind of scared to buy it. Hope, your tips will surely help in maintaining EFI.

Thanks bro. Agree on your suggestion on reassembling the pump but the intention was to educate on whats needed to be done rather than how it is done. Anyways congratulations on deciding to go ahead with the TB 500. Would recommend cleaning the fuel system once you get hands on your bull and use Liqui Moly petrol injector cleaner as we would not know when was the last time the previous owner might have done that, ofcourse with changing the engine oil with a good fully synthetic oil, air filter and both the spark plugs too. That way you can start keeping the maintenance records fresh with you. The 500 is simply a pleasure on Highways. Happy Riding 🤘

i was able to remove clean and fit back the fuel pump successfully. Thanks! There was fair amount of black crud inside..which i used car throttle body cleaner spray to clean. Well the bike still jerks the moment i open the throttle at low speeds. I sure all the crud must gone to the injector as well. I have added liqui moly as per your suggestion. Hope the jerking goes away with time.

Cool. Another thing. Also check out the spark plug HT wires especially at the plug caps end. If possible cut half a Inch of the wire at the plug end and refit in the caps. And check for any wear, cuts on the wire. Cheers!!

@@RajkaGarage sure thing will do. However i noticed that there is no further filter after mesh filter like we have in cars.. a separate fuel filter after the channi like filter. The fuel filter we see in cars if far more dense which helps trap even the finest particles

I ran the pump outside its assembly dipped in petrol..was surprised to see the pump spitting out so much crap ..this..is after cleaning it...seems the crap came out after the pump ran freely..without The restriction of the regulator.. Yup i will replace the spark plug and wires anyways..also i found out we can adjusted the mixture by changing the tps angle..i set at 0.54 volts... considering i have wild boar silence.. my current pump pressure is at 30 psi...is the pressure fine? .

@@shashaanknagaraja2828 Hey Shashank..it's seems you are having Sundays full of excitement 😀.. The fuel pump pressure is absolutely fine at 30 psi. Does your tank have red oxide coating from inside. It seems to be flaking and making the pump work overtime again. And clean the tank with petrol and blow pressurized air later, if that was not done last time. Also remove the injector and dip the tip (only) in NC thinner over night (take small lid or something like to dip only the tip portion) and later clean with the injector cleaner and blow pressurized air. This way it get cleaned up nicely.

Thanks for the video brother. I came across your video and I really appreciate the kind of information you shared in it. I have classic 500 and it's fuel pump motor stopped working yesterday. I went to the mechanic and he said the same thing that I should fit the carbourator kit. And I never wanted to do it. There any way we can talk over the phone or email. I need to have some more information regarding what should I do to fix the problem.

Very informative video sir 👍. I have fuel pump motor issue with my classic 500 TAN bs3 model. From few days fuel pump motor not working. As we tap below the fuel pump with the help of an spanner it start work again for few times, and then completely cut off. HT coil, sparkplug are working finely. Recently I clean the Throtal body. So I removed fuel pump from tank. I wash and clean and dry the petrol tank. And I separate the fuel pump parts very carefully. The filter looks black colored. I dry it, But don't blow pressure air in it. and clean the hole pump body. My bike fuel pump body not getting enough clogged with rust or any other debris. It's bit clean when I open it. After that I check the fuel pump motor by plugging it in to bike socket and switch on the ignition, then fuel pump motor not working for some attempts, but after some attempts it start working again. But I confused whether it is completely repaired or not.?? I am not using WD40 Spray for cleaning it. So my question is. Is it OK to use this motor again. Or should I replace the motor with new one which is available at amezon site. Any suggestions sir.?? I am from solapur city. Maharashtra.

Thanks buddy 😊. Yes you can surely go for the motor available on Amazon. I have used similar aftermarket ones from local shops in Mumbai on half a dozen of 500s and touch wood, all are doing good with the oldest being more than 2 years ago. Also before that, try spraying a throttle body cleaner inside the original motor and later soaking it in WD40 overnight. This trick has worked for me on a couple of occasions.

Let see how much improvement will get by doing this method.on Amazon site there is an site name - "Open throttle racer" which provide fuel pump motor and filter also for classic 500 bs3 model. Is it worth it to purchase it and use it in bike sir? Or do you know any other good company name for fuel pump motor for classic 500 bs3 bike.??

All sellers on Amazon are selling generic Chinese motors. This seller sells most items at a higher price compared to other sellers. Just buy which comes with the filter coz there are some who are selling without filter like a seller named Mix Bag. I buy them from Mumbai Opera House market for around 1600. But it's beneficial only if you are buying 4-5 pieces at a time, else time and cost to travel to opera house doesn't make it a value.

Very very informative video! Thanks Mr. Raj Now I came to know why is my tank a bit blocked. Whenever I do refueling I have to shake my bike so that petrol goes in the tank without getting stuck. My bike is 3 years old. I believe its fuel pump and fuel filter is also clogged. Can I clean fuel filter also? pls advice. Thank U again.

Yes buddy, it is advisable to clean fuel filter once in 6 months. This also ensures any water residual in the tank gets cleaned. Due to E10 petrol these days, it's very easy for these things to fail as Ethanol converts into water very easily if gets in contact of moisture.

Thanks Bro.. where are you based. You will need to search for someone in your locality as even in Mumbai, the locality I stay in even old RE Mechanics are reluctant to open the FI system. I used to run a garage earlier and hence work on my own machines.

Great help and a very big thank you. I faced same problem where RE serviceman says to change every thing - Tank, fuel pump and injector for bill of 26K INR!!!! Can the RE guy will do this cleaning instead of replacement or should I have to go outside specialist? If so, can you suggest who can clean this???

Hey bro, I would suggest go to some specialist outside. Though are very few who touch the system, I am sure there will be someone who can do the job skillfully. Get a good throttle body cleaner and remove and clean the entire system, fuel pump and tank, throttle body and fuel injector. That will make the bike run like new. I am soon going to post a full video on end to end cleaning of all the above parts. Hope that will help all my dear RE FI users. Cheers and Happy Riding 🤘

Hello brother, this video by you put my thoughts on EFI system in the right track. My Classic 500 CC has developed starting problem recently. My regular mechanic checked it and said it could be fuel pump problem and he suggested to take it to service centre. The service centre people after 3 days of checking told me that it got started. They said it was just a BATTERY PROBLEM. I brought it to home. Next day, it developed the starting problem again. I bought a new battery, no result. Service centre people came and when they tried, it got started again. I went for a ride of about 20 km and when started, it again developed the same problem. A mechanic suggested to change the relay and I bought 2 new relays (4 pin relays as the shop owner told me it's available in 4 pin only now, not the 5 pin one). No result. Awaiting your reply to know the problem of my Bullet.

Yes, coz they are only capable of opening sparks plugs and washing the bike. Opening the fuel pump periodically and cleaning the fuel system is an unknown territory for most mechanics.

Raj sir, my classic 500 is making some buzzing sound after starting, my mechanic has told me that buzzing sound is due to fuel pump problem and asked me to change the fuel pump. So has you have shown inthis video if filter is cleaned then the issue will be solved.. pls suggest

Really very informative vedio. Thank you a lot sir. I have a classic 500 and there was some missing problem then I cleaned*(cleaned in RE service center) the fuel pump and there were so much of redoxide(redpaint patches) on the bottom of the pump and on the fuel filter too blocking the way of fuel intake. They told me to replace the fuel filter as after cleaning by air pressure and petrol also it looked Dirty inside (should I change the fuel filter?). How much it will cost me the fuel filter? As per RE showroom the fuel filter comes with the fuel system and will cost around 12k. But I need only fuel filter where can I get and how much would it cost? Sir please help by giving some knowledge regarding this.

Hi Jyoti, the original fuel filter is very expensive appx 3800. The old filter will have the tendency of looking brownish in colour even after cleaning. Alternatively, very recently I had bought a local filter (Taiwan made) from Amazon which cost me appx 450. I have using it for almost 8 months is working fine so far. Go for that.. Check the sensor on the left side near the air filter housing. It may be in slight tilted position. Keep it horizontal.

Hi Shashank, thank you for watching and writing back. The pressure regulator is inside the black coloured cover. Would you be going for the TBX or the regular. TBX looks awesome aswel. Any which ways go for a 500 only. I have both a 500 and 350 Classic and i can vouch for the fun of riding when on the 500. It's addictive. @@RajkaGarage yes i just got a used TB500 2013 model..oh man its so SOUL!! Like the way it pulls...but yes its shutting off the moment i cross idle..and also jerks at lower speeds when i give throttle. Does it seem like fuel pump issue? Bike was standing for 2 weeks

@@shashaanknagaraja2828 Was it standing in rain. If so or even if not get the fuel tank and pump cleaned if it was not done since the time you have the beast with you. And once that is done pour a good fuel injector cleaner for a tank full of petrol. This will clean the entire fuel system including the injectors. I prefer Liqui Moly petrol injector cleaner which costs appx ₹280 and one bottle is sufficient to treat upto 50 litres of petrol.

@@shashaanknagaraja2828 Cool..that's makes it an exciting Sunday for sure. While opening the fuel pump take care of the 2 rubber o-rings and apply little oil on the o-rings while reassembling else the o ring may get cut. Cheers!!!

my classic's fuel pump was not working properly so i got one after market pump it is not able to generate the pressure , one of o ring is damaged in the fuel pump. so should i get o ring it can increase the pressure?

If any of the O ring is damaged or become brittle, the pump would not work efficiently. Get both side O rings replaced.

My BS3 TB500 have Miss or Shut off while in idle or in low RPMs. Do we get Keihin Fuel Pump motor anywhere?

No buddy, you won't get Keihin motor individually, but you can always go for a after market motor which will cost anywhere around 1500-2000 rs. I have recently put one in of the bike and it's working well since last 3-4 months which is good enough to prove it will atleast last for some good years.

Hi Raj, my fuel pump motor feels like getting obstructed. Sometimes it only starts working when I tap the pump with some object. What do you think can be the issue? Secondly, where can I find the pump for 8k since RE guys are still quoting 13.6k for it.

Hey bro.. please remove and clean up the fuel pump and the fuel filter thoroughly. Spray good amount of WD 40 in the fuel pump motor and leave the motor soaked in that for sometime. Repeat spraying WD 40 and start the motor assembly outside the Fuel tank by spraying WD 40. Make sure you clean the fuel filter thoroughly by cleaning with petrol and a soft brush (old toothbrush will help) and blow pressurized air on it. Hopefully this should do the trick. Also check if the connectors inside the fuel pump (the red and black wires are not loose). If you fuel pump is works after Tapping the tank and after starting doesn't show any problems then the cleaning process would work for you. About the fuel pump price, maybe the showroom in your area is still selling old stock. The new pumps comes with a complete plastic body and costs 8K. Checkout some other outlet. Dear Sir, That was great insight. I own a TB500 and a week back I was asked to replace the fuel pump which I did as the vehicle was not starting and the usual sound of the pump while we switch ON the ignition was not heard. I asked whether this can be repaired and the mechanic knocked it down saying a big NO.Failed to understand such an expensive item and is irreparable. I have the old pump with me and want to make sure whether its pump problem or electric connections or which is part is failed in it. Can you please suggest me how to make sure the pump is failed and would there be any repair shops who can repair them.

Hi Bro.. thank you for your kind words of appreciation. To check if your motor is working or not, trying connecting with two wires which are inside the pump socket to any 12v battery. The pump motor will run if it is still working. And yes, Sorry for the delay in responding as I was down with a medical situation. Happy Riding 🤘

Hi Darshan, this is applicable to any EFI system. The point I have tried to cover in this video is about how to keep the fuel pump and throttle body healthy by doing preventive maintenance. In most cases for years and kilometres the throttle body and pump is never cleaned, especially with the RE as it being the most popular machine handled by any road side Mechanic they never feel these things are important and service center folks are only good to replace oils and change air filters and hence over the years the damage is already done. What exactly is happening with your bike. Can you please let know.

Hi Sukhjit, have you serviced the fuel pump by removing from the tank and cleaning. Also please take a small bottle of WD40 and spray inside the fuel pump and keep it soaked in the WD40 spray for 30 minutes as it will clean and lubricate the fuel pump. Also check the fuel pump socket and spray some WD40. I think it's just a small carbon related problem with the fuel pump motor. Converting to Carburettor will kill the charm of the bike

Hey buddy, the common mistake which people do is not cleaning up the fuel pump at regular intervals of 10k kms and this leads to common problems of fuel pump motor getting choked and malfunction. If the motor gets completely malfunction then changing is the only final option. But preventive maintenance (cleaning every 10k kms) can keep it healthy. Hope this helps. Cheers and Happy Riding 🤘

I want to know how much power does this fuel pump draw?.fuel pump pumps the fuel towards injector thru a pipe. does the injector also draw power to throw fuel to the cylinder? My concern is if my battery goes completely dead EFI will not work and so it will not start with a kick also ? I think if my battery is weak ,I will be able to start with kick. Of course electric start will not work as it takes 0.90KW.

Yes bro.. you are correct, the injector is also actuated through electric power and when the battery completely runs out of power the injector too would not feed any fuel spray in the manifold. The pump priming is also very important to build the initial pressure in the injector line. Which a dead battery cannot suffice.

Hello sir I have a continental gt 535 2016 which has done 7900km only. The bike starts but when I pull the throttle it goes off. I have cleaned the fuel motor filter and throttle body too but it’s still the same, I can ride it but it does have hiccups. Even on a regular ride it goes off sometimes, then I have to self start it again and continue riding. Ideal indication is at 1. Main problem as mentioned is the bike shuts off if quick throttled, I have to throttle is slowly so it won’t shut off on me. Kindly help

Hey buddy..how is the state of the Spark plugs. Check the spark plug wire too. Also what about the fuel injector.. did you clean it. Even I faced similar problem recently and when I diagnosed..I found there was half a litre water in my fuel tank. Thanks to the Petrol pump I used to fill from. I Cleaned the tank.. put new petrol from Shell petrol pump and it's solved for me. Also I cleaned the injectors by removing them out with a good throttle body cleaner spray. Brother I have done the following, fuel tank emptied and checked(it was clean with no sign of water) filter was clean too but I still serviced it and sprayed it. Injector checked ( sprayed and cleaned, didn’t find any dirt surprisingly ) spark plug I replaced it as I was doubting it too, then I read somewhere that the spark wire may be at fault so I swapped it from my other re500, still didn’t help. Even the throttle body has been serviced very well, cleaned and sprayed but it did not make any difference. I am riding it regularly these days for a distance of 10/11km, it runs very well but there are sudden hiccups, if I try to accelerate it quickly missing starts. I am honestly really upset brother as this bike is dear to my heart. Any help or tips will be highly appreciated

Hi Devang, Did you check why the same problem came 2 times.. if some mechanic is not fixing it properly everytime then it's time to change the mechanic. Nozzle leakage is the last thing I heard in a fuel pump since 2012. Cheers n Happy Riding 🤘

Hi Shaji, thank you for your kind words buddy. And yes the EFI concept has been unnecessarily abused in the Indian market by many mechanics. There are 2 methods to check the TDC, but you can follow the more simpler( other one needs to open the magnet side cover and the magnet which involves too many steps). 1. Remove the tank. 2. Open the valve cover. 3.Remove both the spark plugs. 4. Engage bike in 5th grade. 5. 'Slowly' Turn wheel in direction of vehicle Movement. 6 watch the valve openings. The valve towards the silencer side is exhaust valve and inlet on the injector slide. Now start the cycle with letting the exhaust valve open and close completely (exhaust TDC). Next, let the inlet valve open and close completely (intake BDC). Now turn the wheel very very slowly and try to peep inside the plug hole with a torch for the Piston coming upwards, I understand it will be difficult as the Piston top will be black with carbon and I generally use a screwdriver and insert from the plug hole and feel the Piston coming upwards to TDC. The trick is to not hold the screwdriver tight in your fingers and let the Piston lift it. You may want to use a ball pen refill which is soft and unbreakable. The last thing is where you will need to apply some skills and caution to not let the Piston and the screwdriver or refill repel each other. This is where you achieve the compression TDC. Removing both the spark plugs is essential as it will reduce the compression back pressure while try to rotate the crank by using the wheel engaged in 5th gear. Hope this helps. @@shajik.damodaran8156 Hi Shaji, yes u can refer to the marking on the magneto from this timing hole too, it will eliminate the need for checking the TDC by inserting screwdriver or anything else. rest of the process remains the same. I just got too much into the workshop mode and forgot this point altogether 😬.

Thank you bhai.. showroom wale sirf motor nahi dete..pura pump lene padta hai..14600 ka hai.. aur naye EFI(2018 ke baad) ka 8500 wala..but 8500 wala old model mein nahi baithata.. but local market mein 1k se leke 1600 tak ki motor ati hai.. problem sirf ek hi hai.. woh Taiwan made hai.. chali toh chand tak..warna raat tak.. I need support. My bike was not working and I gave it to my showroom service centre. I was told that the fuel pump is not working and needs replacement for 14000. I have very limited run and My TB500 has not run for 6000kms in 2-3 years. Can the pump go bad like that ? Can you suggest what can be done as I find it bit suspicious that pump should not go bad like this and expense is huge.... Any after market solution to this problem ?

At times it's just the motor getting stuck with some debris that gets through a bad fuel filter as rarely any mechanic open the pump and clean the filter etc. With the help of any skilled local mechanic, try opening the pump and removing and clean the motor by spraying WD40. If luck is on your side the motor can work. If it's gone dead due to a dirty filter, then try for an local aftermarket or second motor. A local aftermarket motor (only motor not the fuel pump assy) will cost you around 1200rs with the filter. We get these in some places in Mumbai. Try searching on Amazon if you are not from Mumbai. Use the below to search "Open Throttle Racers Steel Fuel Pump Motor Suitable for Royal Enfield Bullet 500/Thunderbird 500/Desert Storm 500" It's a bit expensive on Amazon though.

No buddy, just changing the fuel pump motor will not lead to any issues. The OE fuel pump assembly is from Keihin, which is a very robust company as it's half owned by Honda of Japan. It's only due to poor maintenance of rather complete ignorance to the fuel system cleaning by mechanics it gets bad.

Hi Saurabh, I am assuming it is a new 500 with plastic fuel pump body. Unfortunately this pump has the tendency of breaking at the nozzle where the fuel pipe fits in and unfortunately there is no option then replacing the entire pump which costs 8.5k Try checking in any second hand spares market if you can get only the fuel pump body for a cheaper deal.

Sir where is test pin single pole connector in classic 350 bs6??? Bec my bike is 1 month old and its MIL(enfine check light) started glowing after 7 days of delivery. Service centre mechanic saying its normal u can drive .. but with time its glowing more than normal.. i hae visited 7 or 8 times .. but they are unable to solve it. Please help where is that test pin connector i have checked under front seats it is not there

Hi Nitin, the test probe is inside the LHS panel box where are the fuses are located. It is a small sine black socket just next to the ECU. Does the light stay 'On' continuously even after the engine is running, or it goes out after some time. If it stays on, ask the SS guys to check the Lambda sensor (O2 Sensor), or the the EFI sensors. If the light goes after some delay after starting the engine, then check the Battery and charging circuit. In any case, get this sorted out from the showroom folks as it is thier job to provide resolution for a brand new bike. Cheers and Happy Riding 🤘

Is the bike not working at all. I would suggest try after market fuel pump motor (you can search on Amazon) which will cost around 2-3k and get it replaced by someone good outside. These motors work for good 3-4 years.

Hi Mohit, ek baar complete fuel pump clean karke dekhna.. fuel pump mein WD40 spray ki choti bottle puri spray karke 30 mins tak usko spray mein rehne dena aur fir clean karke fit karna.. It may work..Fuel pump normally doesn't get weak..but sometimes agar koi small particles andar fasa ho toh aisa ho sakta hai..

I'm using classic 500.. technicians said to change fuel motor.. so i think to replace it with yamafa fz v2 fuel motor.. is there any difference btw bullet fuel motor and fz.. (like pressure variance for fuel pumping and volt required?.. (both pump seems to be same)) If it is not suitable, then suggest me a suitable one.

Hi Akshay, if the motor in V2 is exactly same in length, filter fitment side (this is more critical) and the inlet- outlet are exactly identical then you can surely use it. Volts are always 12V and the pressure should not be a problem ( basically the fuel line till the injectors should be charged with continues pressure). Btw what is the price of the FZ motor as RE fuel pump complete assembly is coming at a reduced price of 8k these days.

@@neepomonedhinesha8994 That means it works but the Bull miss fires or Jerks. Did you try changing your spark plug HT cables. I would advise you to change the both HT cables first with original ones. That is a more cheaper experiment to do. It has worked on one of the Bulls (2013) which is recently worked on ( someone had advised this guy to replace the fuel pump assembly). In that case i just cut around 1" of the cable near the noise suppressor side (plug cap) and chaged the plug caps too and that worked. So inspect the HT cables and see if they have become hard, any cuts (usually just above the tappet cover) and take call accordingly. Cut the tip of the cable and replace the plug caps if necessary. What is year of manufacturing of your Bull.

मैं बहुत पछता रहा हूं अपनी डेजर्ट स्ट्रोम बुलेट का EFI सिस्टम की जगह कार्बोरेटर लगवाकर। बाइक में अब वो पहली वाली बात नहीं रही और एगजास्ट साउंड भी अलग हो गया। पहले जो गाड़ी एकदम से रफ्तार पकड़ती थी वो थोड़ा ज्यादा टाइम लेती है रफ्तार पकड़ने में। और पहले EFI सिस्टम में बाइक का 30 से 35 km/liter का माइलेज था वो अभी 18 Km/liter रह गया है।

Hi Sourav, great..I aim to own that beauty some day. Fuel injector cleaners are additives that can be added to the fuel and has cleaning agents in them that cleans any glut or carbon residues that gets accumulated on the fuel injector nozzle. They also tend to take care of the carbon residues in the combustion chamber and valve seats to a certain extent if used regularly. Recommended every 10k kms. You can buy a can of 'Liqui Moly petrol injector' cleaner for around ₹ 300 from Amazon. One bottle of 200 ML is sufficient for 60Ltrs of petrol, so you can add appropriately for a full tank of petrol for your Interceptor. The best time is when you are off for long rides as the continuous high speed throttle helps in effective cleaning of the injectors. Hope this information helps. Happy Riding 🤘

@@SouravAcharya9444 Watched and Subscribed. Is there an Exide battery in the bike. I suggest get the charging circuit checked using a multi meter. The voltage at the battery after starting the engine should be not less than 13+ Volts when the HL is switched on (fuse in place). The problem with most BS4 models is that the batteries doesn't get enough charging voltage due to the HL switched on full time and this will become even worse for models with regular filament bulbs (Standard LEd HLs will not face this issue as LEDs consume only marginal power). Moreover For any BS4 models with filament HL bulbs for the battery to get proper charging the daily running should be 20-25Kms or atleast a full week's running should be 100kms. Otherwise the HL bulb becomes responsible for draining of the battery. Do push for a battery replacement under warranty with the service centre if your charging circuit and daily running is inline of what I mentioned above. Exide is a commoner culprit in most cases. Nice information sir thank you. मेरी classic 500 EFI BS3 model मे भी fuel pump motor का प्रॉब्लेम आया था, start नही हो पारही थी so शोरूम मे दिखाया तो mechanic ने चेक किया, fuel pump को नीचे से मारणे से वो थोडी देर चल ताथा फिर बंद पड जाता था. So मेकॅनिक ने एक दुसरी classic 500 EFI BS3 मॉडल bike का fuel pump motor मेरी bike मे मेरे सामने चेक कर के बिठा के दिया है. So अब मेरी bike स्टार ठीक से होती है, high speed पे मस्त चल थी है, पर... Slow speed पर याने के first gear initial speed, second gear initial speed, third gear initial speed speed थोडा lagging (दबके) हो रहा है जोकी fuel pump motor चेंज करणे से पहिले ऐसा नही होता था. पिकअप के मामले में EFI डेजर्ट स्ट्रोम 500 सीसी बुलेट Yamaha RX 100 की तरह है। एक दम से रफ्तार पकड़ती है।

Hi Anmol, 500cc mein carb laga sakte hai(bullet 500 Wala) but woh successful nahi hai.. khas karke jab kisiko ko EFI ke pick up performance ki adat ho Jaye.. carburetor purana technology hai.. EFI is new technology. Hope this helps. Cheers and Happy Riding 🤘

@@wallamjohnlyngdoh7335 For the fuel gauge you will need to check the float sensor in the petrol tank as most of times that is culprit. Also for the hazard light there could be 2 reasons, either the flasher relay has burnt out or the toggle button in the meter. Most of the times it is the toggle button which goes bad in the TB.

Bhai abhi nayi classic 500 me pura plastic ka EFI ata hai...jo bina kuch kiye apne ap hi nozzle tut jata hai, Fir pura hi change karna padta hai.isi liye log carburetor laga rahe hai

Breakage wala problem abhi naye fuel pump mein ane laga hai woh bhi agar uske sath jor jabardasti hota hai.. mostly log EFI ke jerking.. misfiring wale complaint karte hai aur uski wajha se change karte hai.. infact naye EFI system mein open loop EG sensors hai so unko jerking issue nahi hai

@@RajkaGarage wo bhi sahi hai,lekin meri bike me zor zabadasti nhi hua fir b tut gaya,2 bar...muje lagta hai, nozzle ke sath pipe attached thik se nahi kiya hoga,, vibration ki wajah se 6ota sa crack hota hai,fir pura tut ke leakage

Naya wale fuel pump ka price kam karneke chakkar mein company ye ganda kaam kiya.. waise mostly high end bikes ke pump ka nozzle plastic ka hi hota hai..but RE ka directly heat ko exposed hai.. engine ke head ki sari heat direct uspe jati hai aur shayad garmi se brittle hoke weak hota hai..upar se tractor wale vibration 😅

Hi Shanu, to start with, hope the mechanic has checked the bulb inside the meter. If that is ok. Then.. Did the mechanic check the float inside the petrol tank. He will need to remove the float from the petrol tank and short the 2 wires of the float connection. If the light comes in the meter then your float sensor is the culprit. If the light still doesn't come on then he will need to check the continuity of the circuit from the float sensor till the bulb in the meter. It's closed loop circuit and hence there is no other scope for any other error than the 1. meter bulb, 2. The float sensor, and 3. The connection between these two. Try this out or let me know what has been done so far. Cheers and Happy Riding 🤘

@@RajkaGarage ThAnks alot for such a detailed description. It was the point second i.e. float metre/fuel guage which was faulty . And, i got it replaced with a new one which costed me 231 and 118 labour charge. Problem solved✌

Hi sir..I am classic 500 user from kerala who is fed up with fuel pump and service centres here..all are saying to replace it.. 15000 (including labour charge ) is too much for me to spent on it. Plz advice...

Fuel pump motor will makes humming sound when it is working. That's normal. Also besides the fuel pump, has the injector being cleaned along with the throttle body, do also check the plug HT wires and the plug cap. Finally you can try using a local fuel pump motor which will cost you around 1600 on Amazon. If experiment will be cheaper to try. @@RajkaGarage throttle body and tank was cleaned .injctor and plungs, and plug adaptors were replaced. Still same issue.last tym the mechanic temporarily gave me one pump for two days then it was working fine so the problem is in pump only.

Cool, in that case go for the aftermarket motor along with the filter. That is cheaper solution to the OE fuel pump assembly.

Hi Vipul, abhi tak Kya Kya Kiya hai can you tell me. Did you open the fuel pump completely. Fuel pump mein ek black plastic ka part hai which is the pressure Maker usko kholke aur filter ko thik tarah se clean Kiya tha Kya. Motor ke andar accha se WD40 spray marke thodi der usme rakhna. Agar motor ke andar kachra hoga toh woh Clean ho jayega.. Agar sab kuch Kiya hai toh fir sorry fuel pump badalna padega. Abhi fuel pump ka price 8k hua hai.. pehle 14k tha..

Bhai.. spark plugs aur plug HT wires check kar Lena.. kahi HT wire current leakage toh nahi Mar rahi.. aur Kya gadi zor zor fakte Mar rahi hai..jab acceleration karte ho.. throttle body aur injector kab clean Kiya tha..

Hi Divyam, please also clean the fuel pump and throttle body. Though it's run only for 7k kms the duration also matters. Please get that cleaned too if not done in more than last 6 months. Let me know the results..

Bhai agar aapke plug ka colour kala hai aur uspe suka carbon jama hai matlab aapki bike rich mixture chal rahi hai..yane ek usko petrol zaroorat se jyada matra mein mil raha ya dusra hawa ka flow kahin choke ho raha hai. Kya aapne throttle body khola tha aur TPS ko cheda tha.. ya aapka air filter Desi ya choked hai.

Bhai.. service center ko TPS ka voltage check karne bolo. Aur agar 0.6v ya usse jyada hai toh 0.53-0.57 ke bich rakhne bolo. Bohot si baar service center walon ko TPS se related issues samajh nahi ate..kya un logo ne bina OBD machine ke TPS ka running voltage aur output voltage check Kiya hai..

Gyani ji kah rahe hai ke re me sirf FI system hi sahi hai baki sab gadbad hai inke hisaab se FI me sirf fuel pump hi kaam karta hai injector, map, tps, o2,temp aur kuch bhee kaam ka nahi hai meri gadi me naya pump dalwane ke baad bhi plug short ho jata tha koi error code bhi nahi aata tha last me carb lagwaya to is aafat se nikla

Video ka topic aur objective log fuel pump ko kaise maintain nahi karte aur fir pump fail ho jata hai woh hai.. aapka gyan bohot badhiya hoga iss baat mein mujhe koi shak nahi.. finally aapne carburettor dal diya uspe hi sab samjh mein ata hai..aur dala bhi shayad kisi Mechanic se hoga.. khud ke hath se nahi.. kehne ka tatparya...pehle apne hatho se gadi ka kaam karne wala skill aur knowledge laye aur fir gyan bate..woh bhi unko ja khud kaam karte hai .
