Just seen some chiller pipes with new armaflex leaking in several areas because of gaps. There are a lot of 45 and 90 d angles that got leaks because of glue failing or just not enough if it. Seems like a pain if you take short cuts

You need to insulate it. Depending on how hot it is will tell you how much insulation thickness you need
