Mr. Fletcher, thank you for your videos. They have illuminated so much of what I wasn't able to see or understand about myself. Since a child, I was unable to identify what has caused me so many problems in my relationships and what has negatively impacted my self-esteem but you have now unveiled that mystery for me. Here you provide rich and invaluable knowledge for free, without ads, for the betterment of us who have been left in the dark for so long. Thank you Tim for your kindness, compassion and humanity.

My mom wonders why none of her kids have kids. We all see something wrong but none of us know how to fix ourselves. She’s still convinced nothing is wrong and if we go to therapy it’s for us not her.

Exactly why I didn't have kids. I was just thinking this while listening. I'm 50 now. I've only been aware of my stuff for a few years. I decided at 13 because I knew something was wrong. Thought it was me and my genetic makeup. I'm now studying this. There's a lot of research behind everything Tim is teaching here. We covered it in lifespan development. If those don't get met, it's likely one of two outcomes to follow in the kids' lives.

My greatest goal was to be the opposisie parent of my own toxic parents. I knew the toxic family were always gossiping that we spoilt our children terribly. My husband and I love our kids, would be strict orally, but never any hidings, never hit a child. We were both teachers as we got married. All grew up fjone, some excelled in sport, others in art. All completed university and or collage, successfully, and are good citizens not one addicted to anything ,in a good occupation.

Mother was a passive parent. Father was a authoritarian, rejecting, volcano parent.

Ouch! I can relate to a lot of this, both as a child and as a parent.

I can relate to it as well, but i feel powerless and overwhelmed and the only solution seems to be to parent yourself and make yourself be responsible and in control of your emotions. Self-esteem doesn't seem to matter, you only have to do your duty. That is how I was brought up.
