*18V Re-string video here: • RYOBI How to Re-Spool/... This also works for Milwaukee, Stihl, and Echo weed whackers. Please subscribe to this channel. This is a video about how to re-spool or re-line a Ryobi 40V grass trimmer.
I've watched at least a dozen of these Ryobi re-spool videos, and you're the first poster who showed the red line *CRIMPS*, for that basis alone your video is worth a million bucks. *THANKS JOSH!!!!!*
Same here but with teenaged son, insisting he could figure it out. I suggested checking youtube. No, he could figure it. I got out the manual and read it to him while he continued fiddling. We looked at each other and I again suggested we google. Your video popped up first. We watched it and son's face lit up. He went back outside and in what seemed too short a time to be possible, he was back inside beaming with accomplishment and ease. Thank you and bless you! Very straight forward and proactive - showing additional tips and potential pitfalls to avoid. Kudos!
Thank you for the excellent demonstration. Today, I ran out of string on my new Ryobi trimmer for the first time and wanted to make sure I restrung it correctly. You helped a lot by also covering the use of non-Ryobi prepackaged string. That's what I'm going to be using. Thanks a lot.
Very straightforward. You will be a good teacher in a technical college. Even without my trimmer around me, you instill confidence and justified that audio-visual works for both teachers and learners. Kudos!
Thank you so much for this! The instructions from the manual were *just not cutting it*. Because of you, my grandma is now happily weed whacking away in the backyard. :)
The instruction manuals are more warning labels than simple to understand instructions. Your video was the best step-by-step instruction of all that I watched. None of the multi page and multi lingual manuals explained how to load the string. Your camera angles always showed what you were doing.
What a lifesaver, I could not figure out how to fix my stuck trimmer line. I have no idea why Ryobi doesn't include these instructions in the manual or website. Now i can finish gardening 😀👍🏾
I can't believe I spent 2 days trying to re-string this reel. It occurred to me to check on-line and I found this site. Fantastic! This was amazingly simple and straight forward. Thank you.
As some who has never used a weed Wacker before my Ryobi40V I had no idea how to respool the thing. I gave it the old college try and got nowhere. Quickly found your video and I'm back up and going. Thanks a bunch
Thank you so much for making this easy -to -understand video. I bought the green string at the end of your video and it reminded me of the trauma of getting fishing line tangled lol At least I'll have a clean looking lawn now lol
Brilliant video!! I've used all sorts of tools and consider myself fairly competent but putting the line trimmer pieces back together (so that it worked!) was beyond frustrating and thanks to your video I was finally able to do it. It's amazing how one tiny tip can turn failure to success. You are a terrific teacher - thank you so much!
Awesome video! After a year I had to replace line on my wife's Ryobi 40v which she occasionally uses in the backyard. This video was very helpful compared to the manual. Thank you!
Thanks for making this so easy for those of us not so handy. Funny how the aftermarket string is easier to load. You have the yellow tool that winds it in the video. Someone was smart enough to make it easier to do at Ryobi.
Thank you very much heyitsjosh for the video tutorial! You saved me a lot of time and time spent in frustration that I was starting to experience with getting the 40V head back together. Yes, I took it apart and got the (original) old line out of it but couldn't get the head to turn and lock in place. Do hang in there bud! My oldest son is also Josh, great name!
I had a tight timeline and murphy's law being what it is, I ran out of trimmer line for the first time. Looked in the manual to find out how to re-string - good luck. Found your video and was back to it in less than 10 minutes. Thanks again.
Thank you, Josh. I just took mine out of the box today and there are almost no useful instructions apart from safety and battery care. This was really helpful.
Woohoo I think I did it thanks to your video. On my last trimmer I could honestly, not do it. It had double. One day it didn't start and I said f it I'm buying an electric. Looks like it worked. Thank you. Most speed through the most critical part, but you actually made it easy to get a view, which is essential.
This is the most informative video on this subject I have seen. I have been trying to replace line that warped inside the head of my Ryobi 40, You instruction are spot on and solved my problem. Thanks and look forward to more of your videos.
Strange. Line on mine jammed up. Earlier in the a.m. I shaved all the hair off my head. Grabbed the Ryobi directions and couldn’t decipher it. Picked this film first thing. Looked like I was lookin in the mirror. Then Josh mentions the lousy instructions. Followed his guidance and took less than eight minutes. Great instructional video. Great haircut too.
I was about to return my new string trimmer because I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to re-string the thing. Thank goodness I found your video. It's so much easier than I realized - but the manual is terrible!
All I want to know is can I install a speed loader on this? I got one of these babies coming and I have a new speedload head that wouldn't work on my ghetto'd out stil weed eater
@@heyitsjosh l have one like your and I had to open it because the string got stuck - while doing that the spring feel out and I don't know what sise to put it - please explain please.
Thank you so much for helping me keep my sanity this evening!!! Apparently when I removed the head the spring popped off and I had no clue why this wasn't working. Your video helped me put this thing back together.
