For my modern FNAF theories: • FNAF Story Speedrun + ...
FNAF is a Metroidvania.
A game of taking new discoveries and back-tracking to see what these new lore keys unlocked.
And I prove this in this episode, by unlocking the Afton Family Tree.

People can write what they like on my videos, I don't sensor comments. I'm honestly surprised I get so much support on RU-vid, when my reddit experience is usually heavily negative.

Y’know I know most people write your theories off due to their out there reputation, and while I love a good ol’ Lamar Afton chuckle every now and then, I do have to give you credit for 1.) getting me much more interested in the nitty gritty of this series 2.) the insane amount of effort you’ve put into this series. Like, yeah there have been fans making Fanart and they joined the fandom back in 2015, but you’ve been at the Afton Family Horocruxes for *nearly 4 years.* I certainly would’ve given up.... Naw who am I kidding, my own insane hyperfixation on this series would probably get me through lmao 3.) pointing out shit I never would’ve realized. Take for example, the implications of the springlock failures possibly being the MCI. While I don’t think that’s the case at the moment, I certainly don’t think it should be discarded. Like, FNaF 4 has already shown us that the number of fingers doesn’t really matter (good ol’ Fredbear clearly has 4 defined fingers and yet we see people wearing him like a springlock suit) and part 5 and 6 show that Scott probably really isn’t thinking about it most of the time. I do think you’ll sometimes look at something and take it too literally (such as the drawings on the wall and the Star Wars blast doors) but I feel like you’ve pointed out shit that nobody cares enough to explain. Take, for example, Fun with PlushTrap. The little shit is situated in a hallway that looks almost exactly like FNaF 2, and yet nobody commented on this. It’s probably because when SL made it a physical, real place, we couldn’t figure out how to make this idea cleanly fit into the lore (along with nearly everything from parts 4 and 5) but just discarding things is a bit reckless. Yet again, I still don’t believe in your theories (mainly due to many of the FF stories and FNaF 6), but I believe you’ve noticed many things that many people tend to disregard for no good reason, alongside creating an actually pretty interesting narrative. I don’t mean to come off as saying “Eyo sick AU kid,” I just think that this isn’t what Scott intended, nor do I think that what you’ve come to isn’t actually narratively satisfying in a vacuum.

I don't think many people understood just how in-depth the mystery of FNAF was when it first came out. To this day, I still find people skeptical of the idea that events in FNAF 4 were planned out at the time FNAF 1 launched, thinking Scott was mostly making things up as he went along. That's why I quadrupled down on the idea that "FNAF is a Metroidvania" here. I wanted to show people how this worked in action, and how it was the technique necessary for solving FNAF. So they could take another look, that also got more into the fine details.

I have begun to appreciate more and more the approach you take to the FNAF lore and story. The unfaltering confidence you possess that there lies an in-universe satisfying explanation for all the queries that the FNAF series generates speaks of a type of optimism that is infectious. Something I find myself needing more and more these days as I have notably become more jaded in approaching FNAF than perhaps I'd like. Exploring the more speculative and 'out there' possibilities to fill in the ambiguous gaps Scott leaves behind is at the very least a more interesting way to approach the lore than rigorously sticking to what little is made clear in the story which I have observed leads to very little but stagnant retreads of tired and repetitive debates that never go anywhere significant. Not to mention I also think it's a more beneficial approach as well. Are the crazier sounding possibilities viable to fill in the purposeful gaps in FNAF's story? Maybe and maybe not but we owe it to ourselves to at least ask. I think that's why I continue to stay so invested in your kind of theories, the more speculative approach at the very least gives us new things to talk about. To use an analogy the limited amount of facts about FNAF lore are an island surrounded by an endless ocean of what-ifs. We may find something or nothing in that ocean but we won't get anywhere by staying on the island. That I think is the main appeal of the Ferret Theory.

I view FNAF like a grand jigsaw puzzle. Unveiling the entire picture is very complex and takes a lot of time. But we can get a glimpse of the story through clusters of puzzle pieces that fit together. And I've seen clusters like that forming for years now. There's definitely a story here, and enough clues to figure it out. It's just about knowing how to approach it. Which is why I emphasized the whole "FNAF is a Metroidvania" thing.
@benwelsh5265

@@BlackfootFerret It's a good way to be with FNAF lore right now. I think Scott said it best in the interview in regards to the two types of theorists. The ones who try to use only the known facts (which are few and far between) and those ad-libbing a bit more. I think a bit of ad-libbing is an unavoidable necessity for anyone at this point neigh I think it's something Scott actively encourages these days e.g. "Very few people will likely ever feel completely satisfied, as there are just too many headcanons out there and so many great ideas on where the story could go, but I think there are good things to be found for people who are looking."

I have another document that analyzes the Fazbear's Fright books with a fine tooth comb. Like AFH, it's still farm from complete, but I'm found lots of details relevant to FNAF 1-4 even in the first two books alone: docs.google.com/document/d/18gbTyof2GaQziqW8L0RxMIkIM5CzAekEX7dot80f7Yg/edit?usp=sharing

My main goal this time is to show people how FNAF works, mechanically. It's like a Metroidvania, a game of finding secrets that you then use to backtrack and unlock even more secrets. Knowing how to approach it--and that the small things do matter, a lot--ought to help lots of folks tackle the material.
@somethingfunny5571

So 1-4 is the “central” story and the rest is to support and give details for it? Am I right? I’m kinda lost...

Ferret’s focus has always been to squarely focus on bits and pieces from the Charlie novel’s, and FNaF 1-4, so yeah.
@BlackfootFerret
@BlackfootFerret 3 года назад
My focus is on the original FNAF 1-4 story. I do think the later material gives us a lot more clues about it. Although with Vannie and Glitchtrap, they also add new chapters to the story. But I think it's important to know where FNAF started, to better understand where it's going now.

Bruh I need to find a way to squeeze my “Afton OC” Alex Robbert into the mix because he looks just like William but with PURPLE EYES, oh and he dies on his own Spring lock suit that’s A LOT different and is not in the Fazebear entertainment franchise. If anyone is willing to give me tips I’m open for them thanks!
